Considering Laser Treatments for Skin Problems?

One of the newest ways to remove warts, moles, skin tags and other dermatological growths is the use of medical lasers. The laser removal of warts can be an expensive option for some but is highly effective and does not leave a scar, unlike conventional surgical methods.

So you've seen the commercials for laser treatments and you want to know if it is right for you. Lasers are being used for more and more types of treatments. If you chose laser as an option is if important to have frank open discussions with your doctor. For me I want to know if there is any other way before I have any medical treatment.

All kinds of warts can be removed using lasers and prices usually begin at around $100. Treatment can take up to 30 minutes depending on the number and size of warts. Lasers kill off the HPV virus at the root of the wart, preventing it from growing further. The wart then dies and falls off. The procedure is relatively painless.

Laser treatments can be used remove moles as well. These unsightly spots are quite common and can appear on your body over time due to various factors such as genetics and aging. Some moles can be removed with scissors but this usually leaves a scar, and so more people are using lasers to remove them from prominent places such as their face or arms.

Mole removal can be quite expensive so you might want to think about getting it removed if it's not posing any danger to you. Many insurance companies do not pay for cosmetic procedures; however the out of pocket cost may be worth it. For many the unsightly mole may have them feeling self conscious. In those cases it hard to put a price on it. The good news is the procedure is for most painless and the area takes about two weeks to heal.

Laser skin tag removal is also becoming very common for those with a large number of skin tags on their body. Cutting skin tags off can cause bleeding and the tag often grows back, and so using lasers to kill off the cells of the skin tag minimizes the chances of it growing back. Again, this is an expensive procedure and since skin tags are usually harmless, you might want to think about getting them removed using this method if it is not covered by your insurance. Many patients describe the sensation of laser treatment to that of being snapped by a rubber band.

At the end of the day if you have checked out all of the natural ways to rid your body of unwanted growths laser may be the best option for your particular situation.
