Using Laser To Remove Back Hair

In the past, it was not considered masculine for a man to undergo treatments to remove hair. It was believed that hair removal was only something that women did. However, times have changed and many men are even getting facials. Men have seen the need to keep their bodies in top condition, even if it means removing the hair on their backs.

Men & Testosterone

Women constantly spend hundred of dollars each year to have remove hair from various parts of their bodies. However, hair removal should not be seen as only a problem for women, as there are more men who would love to remove the layers of back hair. Because of the natural hormone testosterone within men, men have been given the ability to grow hair on their chest and backs in a way a woman cannot. For some men the amount of hair is sparse, but for other men their genetics are against them, and they have large amounts of thick hair growing there. One solution to this is laser.

Past Hair Removal Techniques

The use of a laser for hair removal is quite a revolutionary concept. Previously hair was removed by using a shaver. The hair was removed by shaving, but because of the amount of testosterone hormone that men have, the hair quickly grew back again. Thus any man wanting to get rid of a hairy back had to spend lots of time constantly shaving, or asking their spouses to shave their backs for them.

In the past men have also tried other hair removal methods that were common to women. A few men have admitted to waxing. However, as this is painful even for women, the use of warm wax being stripped off the skin did not become a popular idea. A few men have also admitted to having the hair plucked off. This was also time consuming and not an effective method for those men who had lots of hair. These are all reasons why the popularity of laser hair removal has increased tremendously over time.

Using A Laser

Therefore, using laser to remove back hair has been around for the past 30 years. It was mostly a technique used by affluent women. However, the price is so affordable now that almost anyone can have it done. The laser is such an effective tool for hair removal. What this procedure involves is deadening the cells of the skin that produces the hair. The man will need at least three treatments to accomplish this, but he can remain without hair growing on his back for at least two years. There is nothing that beats not having to shave and wax every couple of days!

Bothered by Unwanted Hair? Try Lumenis Lightsheer Laser

People with unneeded hair on their bodies go to lengths to reduce or eliminate this hair. They waste a great deal of time and money, often with major pain and disappointment or short-lived results. Until in recent times, the only permanent method of hair reduction was electrolysis, a painful, prolonged and costly procedure, beneficial only in minimal skin areas.

Laser hair reduction has gained its popularity and credibility as the leading method of reducing hair permanently. After a number of sessions, usually five, almost all dark hair is permanently removed. Infrequent touch-ups may be preferred by the client, but normally the treated areas need minimal further hair removal procedures.

Commonly named the "gold-standard" of hair-removal lasers, Lumenis LightSheer Laser can be used on the best variety of types of the skin, as well as skin tones that appear to be darker than the normal skin tone. Having been recognized as the most lucrative besides the fewest number of treatments, Lumenis LightSheer Laser procedure guarantees a safer and effective approach in the treatment of unwanted hair.

With its special contact cooling handpiece that helps cool down the area surrounding the skin while it targets the application of laser energy to the hair follicle, Lumenis LightSheer Laser provides satisfaction to the clients since discomfort is rarely experienced and tolerable, but what is good is that the treatments are done in a speedy process. Laser Tattoo Removal Cost - Is it Worth It?

It was a cool idea when you were 18 and decided to get that tattoo, but now, years later, it's just a drag. You want to remove it. There are numerous tattoo removing procedures and products, all with varying price tags associated with them. You've heard that laser tattoo removal has the highest success rate at completely removing a tattoo, but what does laser tattoo removal cost? How does it compare to the cost of other removal techniques?

The cheapest tattoo removal option is probably tattoo removal creams, including TCA. These cost around $100 for a one month supply. These are one-time applications. It takes many months to successfully fade a tattoo, and often will take a year or longer. So you are looking at somewhere in the neighborhood of $1000 or more to remove a tattoo.

Dermabrasion, "sanding off" the tattoo is more expensive than tattoo removing creams but less expensive than laser treatments. Each dermabrasion treatment can run from $100 to $500. Plan on at least three treatments to remove the tattoo, and plan on having a scar in its place.

Tattoo excision, where the tattoo is cut out and the skin is sewn back together, could be less costly than laser treatments, or it could be more expensive. It depends on the size and depth of the tattoo. Generally, only one visit is required, but if the tattoo is large, two or more visits may be required, and skin grafting may be required, which will run up the cost. Cost is too variable to even give a ballpark figure here.

IPL (intense pulsed light) therapy is similar to laser tattoo removal in that an intense light is pulsed on the tattoo, breaking up the ink. This is probably the most expensive removal procedure, costing as much as $10 per pulse. The number of treatments depends on the size and complexity of the tattoo.

happinesslifetime.com Laser removal is probably the most popular removal option, but that doesn't mean laser tattoo removal cost is cheap. Treatments can run from as little as $200 to as much as $800, depending on the tattoo being removed. The number of treatments can also vary, depending on the size, colors, and complexity of the tattoo, but figure on five to ten treatments. As with any treatment, results can vary, but most people have been happy with happinesslifetime.com laser removal results.

Hair Laser Removal at Home - 5 Facts to Consider

It seems that now days everyone is having their hair happinesslifetime.com laser removal at home. It is a much cheaper alternative compared to having it done professionally, not to mention you don't have to make appointments with the physician.

I myself have been wanting to have my hair permanently removed for years, and considered the hair happinesslifetime.com laser removal at home system. I had so many concerns with it though. I wanted to make sure the price was right, that it was safe, and easy to use.

While researching everything I could possibly find about the home device I came across five things that everyone should consider before buying the unit.

Fact #1

It is not for everyone.

Unfortunately the hair happinesslifetime.com laser removal at home system can only work on people with light skin and dark hair. It will not work if you have dark or tanned skin. It also will not work on blond, white, gray, light red and light brown hair.

The reason for that is because when laser detects the dark pigment in the hair it produces heat. People with dark skin will experience intense heat, and the light hair will not be able to be picked up by the laser.

On the other hand if you have fair skin and dark hair you are the perfect candidate and chances are more than likely that the machine will work for you.

Fact #2

It is not cheap.

While hair happinesslifetime.com laser removal at home can save you hundreds of dollars compare to going to the physician, it can still cost you. As of now it is priced just under $800, but many places offer payment plans, and they always run specials.

Still it is a much cheaper alternative compare going to the spa. On average a professional hair happinesslifetime.com laser removal on legs, bikini, and underarms can cost around $10,000 for a full set of treatments.

Some units run as low as $200, but so far they have not been able to deliver great results. And some consumers found it a waste of their money.

Fact #3

Certain Body Parts Are Too Sensitive For Hair happinesslifetime.com Laser Removal At Home.

The laser works by sending intense heat to the hair follicle so it can be destroyed, and some areas of you body should not be subjected to it as serious reaction can occur. You can't use hair happinesslifetime.com laser removal at home on your head, ears, genitalia, neck and nipples.

You can use it on legs, underarms, bikini line, back, chest, abdomen, buttocks, arms, hands, and feet. Also many people with sensitive skin found that the hair happinesslifetime.com laser removal at home works better for them compare to waxing and shaving!

Fact #4

You will need more than one treatment.

Due to the different hair growth cycle more than one treatment will need to be performed. The same goes for professional use as well. It will take about six to eight treatments for the desired results.

Fact #5

It is very easy to use.

The hair happinesslifetime.com laser removal at home practically works by itself! You can have your treatments done while watching a TV. The laser is self-automated, the moment it detects the dark pigment in your hair it will automatically send heat to the area and destroy the hair root.

The only thing you need to do is to prepare your skin before hand. You should shave right before and have clean skin with no lotions or creams on it.

Laser Tattoo Removal and Other Options

Interest in tattoo removal now appears to be booming. A 2006 study at Texas Tech University found that nearly 20% of 196 interviewees with tattoos were unhappy with them. More recent statistics now indicate that over 40 % of people who have tattoos regret at least one or more of them and are interested in having them removed.

The costs associated with laser tattoo removal depends on a number of factors. These include the size of the tattoo, the location (forearms and ankles are often the most difficult to treat), the type of dye - there are currently more than 100 inks out there, how colorful to tattoo is, skin type, how deep the ink is - often depends on whether it was applied professionally or by an amateur. Another important factor is your body's own natural ability to rid itself of the ink through your immune system. These all play a part in determining the overall effectiveness as well as the total cost of tattoo removal. Of all the removal techniques happinesslifetime.com laser removal is now considered the 'gold standard' for removing them. However, it can get very expensive and costs can range from a minimum of $120 per visit to over $500 per session and complete removal can often require between 3 and 10 or more visits.

Laser therapy is know to cause some discomfort. It is often described as having an elastic band snapped repeatedly against your skin. For more sensitive patients an anesthetic is sometimes used although most patients don't use it, it can often cost about an extra $50 or so. Each session usually only lasts for a few minutes. Darker inks, are ironically the easiest to eliminate with laser treatments. These include blacks, dark reds and blues. Analysis of tattoo pigment components indicates the most common elements are aluminum, titanium, and carbon. A higher concentration of titanium has been proven as a main reason for poor results to laser therapy. Although it's really difficult to find out what the exact ingredients in your ink are, this may be a cause if you're not seeing great results. Other colors not as easily removed with lasers are the greens, yellows, lighter reds or oranges and especially turquoise.

Waiting longer periods of time between laser sessions has proven to provide better results. This waiting time will give your body time to heal and your immune system time to assimilate the ink particles that the laser has broken down. It isn't the laser that removes the ink - it will only fragments it. Your immune system absorbs the broken-down ink fragments and this process always takes time. Some people think the lasered ink will rise ti the skin surface, this is not the case. Patients are quite often told to wait 4-6 weeks before returning for more laser session but you may consider waiting up to 8 weeks. There is now rush and this extra time may deliver even better results. Having patience like this can also save you dollars from having fewer sessions. The total number of sessions and treatment spacing depends on the area that is being treated as well as your skin color. Forearm and ankle tattoos are known to take the longest to treat.

Many of the most common lasers used today are Q-Switched. This just means the laser is pulsed very rapidly. In the old days there was no 'pulsing' the beam was applied continuously to the tattooed area and this was known to literally cook the surrounding skin tissue, causing damage and potential scars. The Q switched variety causes the ink to be heated to fragmentation temperature which is enough to shatter the ink molecules while protecting the tissue around it, preventing scars.

This is not one-laser-fits-all technology. Different lasers produce different colors of light. For example, green light is readily absorbed by red ink and red light is very well absorbed by green dyes. Using only one laser type is not good if you have multiple colors, always check with the provider and ask if their equipment is capable of treating your particular colors. Many times, two or more laser wavelengths are required to solve this problem. You can read more about the different types of lasers and what colors they target at the website listed below.

More modern lasers, that have been around since about 2007 produce multiple light wavelengths and have therefore been designed to treat a broader range of tattoo ink colors than the previous Q-switched technology.

Another method that has been growing in popularity for removing tattoos are tattoo removal creams. These products are often referred to as fading agents. Consistent use seems to be the key to success with these products. These creams usually show the best results after a number of months of continual use, just like happinesslifetime.com laser removal - they will not work over night.

The upside of these products is they're relatively inexpensive and they do not come with the kind of risks associated with surgical methods.

Laser Liposuction - Understanding How it Works

Laser liposuction, otherwise known as laser lipolysis, laser-assisted lipolysis or Smartlipo, is a new method of liposuction using laser technology. In traditional liposuction, significant force to disrupt the tissue that holds the fat together is needed to free it up. Almost everyone has seen on TV or videos of how the procedure is performed and few would doubt that the traditional approach is fairly traumatic. Effective, but traumatic. With Smartlipo, the required mechanical force is reduced by the heating or melting of the fat.

Fat is a unique tissue in that it is really globs of lipid (triglycerides) surrounded and encased in strands of connective tissue. To no surprise, fat has a fair amount of water in it which is very relevant in laser liposuction but largely unimportant in traditional liposuction. Fat is roughly 25% water. Running through the fat are small blood vessels and lymphatic channels. Some fat areas have globules that are quite big ('buttery fat") and other fat areas have smaller globules with a lot of connective tissue. ('gritty fat') Gritty fat, such as in the upper abdomen or back, takes a lot more force to break it up and be suctioned out.

The laser energy delivered to the fat via fiberoptic cables or probes is designed to raise the temperature of the lipids to above 42 degrees C. At this temperature, the fat cells are damaged and they release their lipids. (lipid liberation!) This liquid is easier to suction out that clumps of fat. The heat generated next to the tip of the cables causes coagulation of any blood vessels and lymphatic channels. A secondary benefit of this heat is its effect on the strands of connective tissue and the overlying skin. This coagulation of collagen tissue causes a beneficial shrinkage of tissue and, to some degree, the overlying skin.

There is currently much debate as to the 'ideal' laser wavelength for which to use to create this fat melting effect. Most of laser technology is based on matching the wavelength to the chromophobe (color) of the target tissue. Fat is a weak target because its yellow color, being lighter, is not a great absorber of wavelength energy. (same problem with the yellow and lighter colors in tattoo removal) Some manufacturers use 1064nm while others use 924nm which is theoretically more specific for lipid absorption. Both cause substantial heat generation and the general effect of heat transmission to the fat cell is probably achieved equally by both. Dual laser wavelengths today have become the new standard in an effort to target the water in the dermis (skin) as well. These include wavelengths such as 975 and 1320nms.

The sophistication of laser-assisted lipolysis is rapidly expanding. Dual wavelength energy delivery, monitoring internal temperature levels, and greater surgical finesse is rapidly changing the way liposuction is being performed. Better results and less recovery appear to be more than just marketing hype with this new laser-assisted liposuction technology.

Hyperpigmentation of the Skin

When areas of the skin become noticeably darker, this is hyperpigmentation and is caused by an excessive production of melanin. Hyperpigmentation often displays as melasma, age spots, dark scars in general and even acne scars. They can appear anywhere on the body, including the hands and legs, but are usually seen on the face.

Women who are pregnant or taking birth control pills often develop melasma due to increased levels of estrogen; thus giving it the nickname of the 'mask of pregnancy'. Once the estrogen levels drop the melasma will usually clear up on its own. However, the other forms of hyperpigmentation can be much more difficult to cure and the resulting marks can be very difficult to remove.

While this condition can affect any skin type, it is seen most often in darker skin tones; especially with people of African or South Asian descent. Skin lightening creams, microdermabrasion and happinesslifetime.com laser skin lightening are all treatments currently used to treat hyperpigmentation. Exposure to the sun's ultraviolet rays also contributes to hyperpigmentation. This means that everyone should wear sunblock daily, including those people who don't typically have to worry about painful sunburns. The sunscreen chosen should be at least SPF 15.

Another option available in the Unites States is the hydroquinone based, prescription creams. These topical skin lightening creams are also available over the counter. Hydroquinone based products are illegal to sell throughout Europe, South Africa and most of Asia. However, there are other effective treatments that can be used. There are risks suspected with the use of hydroquinone.

As frustrating as hyperpigmentation can be, there are options like integratedskin.com/meladerm.htm Meladerm on the market to help. It can quickly diminish the appearance of spots, melasma, and uneven skin as well.

Laser Fat Removal - VASER LipoSelection

Today the #1 cosmetic procedure is liposuction. Hundreds upon hundreds of thousands have tried it and even more have thought about it. Those may actually need it but have only thought about it, probably have not had it done because it sounds so evasive and painful. Well, to a certain extent that is true until recently. A new type of liposuction has come about and is much more effective that of the old.

VASER LipoSelection is the newest type of method for removing fat from the body. Fat cells are basically melted away and then are removed by a combination of two things. Ultrasound energy and the motion and suction from that of a suction tube. What it does is basically re-contours specific areas of the body. Examples of some of the common areas are the back, hips, thighs, knees, neck, chin, abdomen and arms.

This method compared to some of the other available laser fat removal techniques is more for those looking to loose significant weight. Not just from the face or neck but including these areas. Around 2001 Sound Surgical Technologies launched this system of laser fat removal. VASER stands for Vibration Amplification of Sound Energy at Resonance.

It works with sound waves to emulsify fat with minimal tissue trauma. Trauma to surrounding tissue is what kept so many people from using any type of lipo in the past. That is why this procedure was designed to limit the amount of trauma to the surrounding tissue. It is not nearly as harmful as traditional procedures in that it utilizes wand like tubes called cannulas that are smaller that the utensils used in past procedures. These cannulas basically allow for easy removal of the liquefied fat that comes right out of the skin all while hardly disturbing the nerves, blood vessels, and tissues as a whole.

While the surgeon is "in" he/she can remove tissues from beneath the skins surface, which will in turn enhance the contours of the muscles in that area. This will offer the look that is usually seen in men that exercise and eat extremely healthy.

Your next question might be how does this work? Well, ultrasonic probes set of high frequency vibrations that initiate the nearby fat cells to break apart and almost become liquid. The liquid is then suctioned out. Just about every patient notices an immediate difference while full results are reached about 3 to 6 months later.

The ideal candidates for this would be people with excess body fat in certain areas but otherwise has stable weight. It might seem odd to say, "stable weight" but this particular procedure is for people who work out 3 to 4 times per week and that are close to their body weight but just have weight in weird places.

What it Takes to Make it Through Laser Hair Removal Training

It may be a well acknowledged fact that just anyone can purchase a laser, not only those in the medical profession, and various laser companies only require buyers to experience as little as a three-hour course in order to purchase their laser products. To get the idea of a laser technician's daily routine, most laser hair removal training centers allow you to shadow a laser technician for a week after you complete your training classes. You will experience setting the laser parameters, which are wavelength, chromophore, pulse duration, repetition rate, spot size, energy setting, and pre & post skincare, to suit any person's individual needs. Also, you will be allowed to administer treatment to patients.

Basics on Laser Hair Removal

People these days have a desire to groom themselves and make themselves more presentable in the civilized society. This has driven them to get makeovers and go out of their way to look attractive. These makeovers include hair removal, which gives the body a more attractive look, and it's also extremely smooth to touch. These days' people are going for permanent hair removal, so that they need not worry about removing their unwanted growing hair time and time again, on a regular basis. The best way of removing the unwanted hairs, permanently, is by using laser therapy.

The process of laser hair removal involves the use of a light from a device, used in the process, with a particular wavelength directed towards a small area on the skin targeting on the dark pigments of hair in that particular area.

This is the newest and the most expensive way of removing hairs from the skin. What it does for removing them is that it damages the folicle without affecting the surrounding area, therefore stopping the growth of hairs by affecting its roots but not the surrounding area.

The results of the laser hair removal are different in different people, not in all cases do people observe permanent hair loss. This process is in demand, in spite of its results that may not provide permanent hair reduction, but certainly it controls the growth of the hairs i.e. after the laser hair removal one might observe the growth of hairs very rarely.

It often takes several treatments to stop hair growing back completely, after it is removed in the right time of the growth cycle.

o Price and do they have any payment options

o Training of the technician

o Reputation of the clinic

o Is the clinic licensed by the state it resides in?

o Do they have the type of laser that is best for your hair and skin color?

o Will they give you names of previous customers?

You might need laser skin care, but of course you should learn more about it before you commit to this type of treatment.

One of the most popular uses for this option is to eliminate wrinkles. To do this, typically dead cells need to be removed via exfoliation and dirt and oil both need to be eliminated, as well. Some treatments that also perform this service leave the face red and irritated afterward, but most laser skin care treatments do not cause such a reaction. Instead, wrinkles and fine lines are often removed while collagen production is stimulated so that new cells grow quite fast to replace the dead ones that were removed.

If your concerns lie with stretch marks, know that there is a type of skin care available for that, as well. Resurfacing is one kind that focuses on removing the outer layer of the epidermis, which can eventually cause new cells to develop to replace the old ones. Thus, the areas where stretch marks once were are filled in with healthier cells.

On the other hand, rejuvenation is a type of treatment in which a laser is inserted under the epidermis in order to increase the production of collagen. In this case, no cells are removed, so it is often a bit less uncomfortable or painful than resurfacing.

However, it can be considered less effective at the same time, and neither type of laser skin care can be guaranteed to remove every stretch mark. Rather, it can be expected to decrease the appearance of these unsightly marks that are often a result of pregnancy or other fast weight gain.

There are many types of things that can go wrong with the epidermis, preventing people from looking their best. If you think medical help can improve your appearance, look into surgeons that employ lasers to get the results you seek. This kind of procedure is usually fast and quite painless, yet can get good results in a matter of minutes. Before you commit to more serious treatments, such as surgery, look into this way of getting the facial appearance you have always wanted.

Laser Hair Removal - Know the Difference Between Lasers and Electrolysis Methods

Are you tired of shaving, waxing and plucking? Most women are. Some men also use depilatory methods to rid their bodies of unwanted hair growth. These methods work, but are not permanent and are time-consuming and sometimes painful. With waxing, you are also at risk of hurting your skin. There are a couple of options available to give you more time for relaxation.

happinesslifetime.com Laser removal is something that most people have heard of. However, most people also do not know exactly how it works. A laser is used to target areas of growth. The beam doesn't target the hair, but the pigment that is the make-up of the hair. It is more known for slowing growth than actually removing it and it can take several treatments to get an extended period of time without growth.

One con of this type of treatment is that because it targets the pigments, it is only recommended for one type of person. Someone with light skin and dark hair is the ideal candidate. Light hair would not be targeted and darker skin can be burned. Benefits of this treatment include less pain and more convenience.

Another common type of removal is electrolysis. The way it works is that a very thin metal probe, thinner than a piece of thread, is inserted into individual hairs. An electric current is then sent through to kill the follicle.

This is one of the only things that will offer more permanent removal, but nothing can offer the full guarantee. In this procedure, you will typically have to go in for quite a few treatments, between fifteen and thirty for the average person. It is also a little painful. However, the results may make it worth it.

The benefit of electrolysis over happinesslifetime.com laser removal is that it is approved for everyone. Because it does not target the pigment in the hairs, like the lasers, it does not matter what color your hairs is. Also, it is more permanent.

Both of these treatments will work for slowing the growth and eventually allowing long periods of time with no hair. It is important to see someone licensed and experienced in order to have good results.

Someone who doesn't have the necessary experience can burn your skin and leave scarring. Also, seeing a dermatologist is recommended over using any at-home kits for the same reason. You wouldn't want to hurt yourself or do any permanent damage.

Whichever treatment you choose, you will soon be able to spend less time on grooming and more time enjoying life. Both of these enable you to be more carefree and to feel more confident.

Antibiotics, Steroids, Or Can Laser Treatment Help Ocular Rosacea?

In present day, medical technology and procedures is at a level it has never before seen. There are also various kinds of conditions that it is not possible to treat or cure with the new technologies, however, research continues. Can laser treatment help ocular pinkness, is one of the complicated conditions that ophthalmologist and dermatologist alike are still in question about, continue to treat daily, but have yet not found a complete cure for.

Many doctors disagree on the percentage rate of those who have one of the skin varieties, also having the eye disorder. Some say that as many as eighty five percent who have the skin disorder, will also have the complicated eye condition. Others say it can be as low as twenty five percent.

Ocular pink, is more complicated to treat because it is in the eye. The characteristics include bloodshot eyes, loss of lashes, crusted lids and often sensitivity to light. Even though some claim that both skin and visual organs have the same type are the same type condition, it has been reported that there is no similarity between the two.

Several antibiotics are in use presently to help control the inflammation that affects the visual organ. The drugs must be administered by a physician and patients must be observed regularly while on the medication. Many drugs contain steroid types and if not observed properly can cause corneal problems, which fifteen percent of patients are susceptible to due to the present condition found in the orb.

Doctors recommend some over the counter artificial tears will eliminate the dry itchy feeling that accompanies the condition. Patients report at the onset that it feels as if a foreign object is in the eye. The drops will hopefully give relief as well it is recommended a home humidifier will relive some of the dryness.

It is also recommended that the patient stay well hydrated by drinking an adequate amount of water, and avoid drinks with caffeine or alcohol since both are drying agents that strip the body of hydration. Avoiding any trigger foods or drinks is also recommended. Hot baths, exhaustive exercising, sunlight and others, depending on the degree of the condition and the patient, may also be triggers.

Women are twice as prone to contacting the disorder as are men. Therefore it is highly advised that women change their makeup supply every three months to avoid contamination from the used products. Keeping the margin and lid area clean is a must. A cotton swab saturated with baby shampoo has been noted to be an effective cleaning agent and remove the lid debris. Following the instructions of the physician exactly is of utmost importance. The antibiotic drugs, cleaning advise, food and drink and keeping the body hydrated seems to be the most sophisticated attempt to control red, dry and itchy eyes that accompany this serious condition.

Several different types of antibiotics are considered to be effective for the treatment regiment. There is a laser process called punctual cautery, but is only considered when the other treatments are not sufficient treatment. The procedure consists of burning the tear duct and the results are permanent. To date, can laser skin treatment help ocular pink, apparently has not yet been determined. The best source of information available is that which is given by either a dermatologist for skin disorders or an ophthalmologist who has the ability to treat and perform necessary procedures which will hopefully control the condition.

In some cases with large tattoos, a skin graft from another part of the body may be necessary.

Dermabrasion

Dermabrasion is done by spraying a solution that freezes the tattoo area. And then the tattoo is sanded with an abrasive rotary instrument which makes the skin to peel off. Bleeding will probably occur, and a dressing will be needed.

The Basics of Laser Hair Removal

Laser Hair Removal is an increasingly popular process by which hair is reduced or removed completely by a "laser." This procedure has been performed experimentally for about 20 years but has only been commercially available since the mid-1990s.

The process uses Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) epilators. These are technically not lasers. They really use xenon flash lamps that emit full spectrum light. Sometimes called phototricholysis or photoepilation, all laser and light-based hair removal or reduction methods are commonly referred to as "laser hair removal." This procedure is becoming more and more widely practiced and its efficacy is now generally accepted in the dermatology community.

The laser hair removal process is based on the principle of selective photothermolysis. Lasers cause localized damage to hair follicles by selectively heating dark target matter in the follicle (the part of the skin that causes hair growth) while not heating the rest of the skin.

Increasingly, both men and women are seeking laser hair removal services. Popular areas for treatment include the lip, chin, ear lobe, shoulders, back, underarm, abdomen, buttocks, pubic area, bikini line, face, neck, chest, arms, hands, and toes. The process works best with dark, coarse hair. The ideal combination of skin tone and hair type is light skin with dark hair; however, lasers are now able to target dark hair even in patients with dark skin.

Commercial laser hair removal has been available since 1997. The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has approved these lasers for permanent hair reduction, not removal. Electrolysis is the only method approved for permanent hair removal. Electrolysis is the process by which an electric current is applied to each hair follicle. It is invasive, painful, and can take years since it targets each hair individually.

The success of the laser hair removal process depends on the type of laser and the skill of the laser operator who handles the case. Some people will need touch-up treatments. This is especially true when a large area is being treated, such as an individual's back.

People will vary in the number of sessions they will need to undergo to be happy. The number of sessions needed varies due to numerous parameters including the area of the body being treated, skin color, coarseness of hair, and gender. Multiple sessions are needed overall because hair grows in various stages. The laser being used can only treat the hairs that are currently growing. Treatments are generally spaced between 3 and 12 weeks apart although spacing, in the end, depends on an individual's response to treatment.

The Steps to Laser Hair Removal Treatment

A laser hair removal treatment is a permanent solution to unwanted body hair, which utilizes a laser to damage hair follicles, making it impossible for hair to grow in the same area. Treatment performed during the growth phase will result in permanent removal, however most patients will require several appointments in order to obtain the desired result, as not every hair will be in the growth phase at the same exact time. In this article, we will outline the steps to obtaining your quality laser hair removal treatment.

Step 1 - The first step is finding your technician. Many plastic surgery facilities and dermatological practices offer laser hair removal treatments in addition to other services. Additionally, there are independent specialists that operate on their own and without doctor affiliation. It is important, when searching for your specialist that you make certain that the one you choose is qualified to operate the equipment and has a fair amount of experience.

Step 2 - Obviously not all skin and hair is the same. Some individuals do not possess the proper hair and skin tone needed to ensure a successful result. Lasers use pigments in the hair as a way to absorb light and heat, and thus, individuals with darker skin tones may be at risk for skin damage. Speak with your specialist in order to avoid any issues prior to your appointment.

Likewise, individuals with blonde hair may not respond at all to the treatments. Due to the fact that blond hair has such a small amount of melanin, the laser tends to be less effective.

Step 3 - Perhaps the toughest and most frustrating part of the ordeal is growing out the hair that you want removed. This means no shaving, no creams; nothing. The laser works through the hair itself, and as such, it will not be possible to a patient who has recently shaved.

Step 4 - Though it will depend on the individual patient, you will more than likely be required to return for a series of additional treatments until a time when the hair has stopped growing back completely. As we touched on earlier, it may take a while to zap all of the hairs in the area at the correct time. Not every hair will be in the growth process as the same exact time, and so it may take some time before you are able to fully enjoy the results you're after. Stick to your appointment schedule and complete the entire process and you will never have to be shave or be treated again.

Step 5 - As a final thought, it's important for every patient to be certain of their decision before moving forward with their treatments. Keep in mind that if you ever feel the need to grow out the area in question that you will be unable to, as the results are permanent. Treat it as you would a tattoo, except instead of a little added color, the result will be nothing at all.

What Are the Advantages of Laser Hair Removal Procedures?

Plenty of hair removal options are in existence on this day - many are confused about the effectiveness of these procedures. Most resort to the aid of the internet in finding the advantages and disadvantages of the various hair removal procedures. Information that is presented on the internet must not be trusted with closed eyes. These days, literally anyone will be able to post spurious information on the internet. This will misguide many people who are still ignorant of the niche. In the following paragraphs, I will list some advantages of laser hair removal procedures.

The readers might be already aware of the procedure - this is one of the most expensive procedures available to humankind. A laser beam of suitable wavelength will be employed on the surface of the skin. These beams will specifically act on the hair follicles and hence, the damage of the skin will be averted. The wavelength of the laser beam is adjusted so that only the hair follicles are selectively destroyed. Naturally, it is a delicate procedure and must be executed under the supervision of experienced personnel only.

So what are the advantages of laser hair removal procedures? For starters, the effect of the procedure will last for a long time. This is the biggest advantage that makes the procedure top the list, when the other removal processes are considered. Some people have reported that hair growth did not resume even after a gap of 10 to 15 years. Imagine the costs that would have accumulated during all these years, if laser hair procedures were not discovered. Unlike the other procedures, the risk factor associated with the procedure is minimal.

So is that the only advantage of hair removal procedure? Certainly not, the procedure can be employed for removal of hair from larger areas of the body. Imagine covering the entire length of your leg with Brazilian wax and sitting for a couple of minutes. The same can be averted by using this procedure, because one will be able to realize a hairless body without any considerable delays. The pains associated with the conventional procedures can also be prevented if you opt for this hair removal procedure.

Is the procedure defect free? Are there no problems associated with hair removal procedures executed with the aid of lasers? Yes, there are - a small share of people has reported irritation of the skin soon after the completion of the process. Researchers have discovered that the cellular structure of the skin is disrupted. This will result in the skin losing its texture and firmness. Besides people who have a fair body will find the process to be highly effective. The laser might act on the melanin pigment present on the skin and will lead to gradual destruction of the skin.

Laser Hair Surgery - Is This Still the Best Option?

Having laser hair surgery is still one the best options there is. It provides more or less permanent results with just one or two treatments. Unlike shaving or waxing, once the procedure is completely done, you need not keep a routine anymore as when to shave or wax. There will be no more bumps on the skin and you won't have to experience immense pain from waxing. This treatment is applicable also on facial hair. It basically works by transforming the beam of light into heat. The heat then eliminates the hair follicle but not the tissues on the dermis.

Laser hair removal is the trend nowadays and has been for the past decade. It used to be electrolysis but laser is more suitable for large areas of the skin unlike electrolysis. Electrolysis is also more painful and can be tedious to perform. With laser, the discomfort felt is much less. And so with technology today, the laser machines keep getting better and better. When the treatment was still new, clients experienced having laser scars. This can still happen, so be careful who you use!

Laser hair surgery does not come cheap though. You have to be sure and comfortable with your decision to have this process done. It does not completely guarantee that the hair lost will never grow back. It also depends on the hair type and other factors. Just make sure to have it done by an experienced professional. It is preferable to be at a clinic with good reputation to ensure the safety of your skin, rather than settle for a cheaper cost but risking the welfare of your skin.

To completely remove the hair follicles, you might need more than just one treatment. Stubborn hair might need multiple treatments. Having darker complexion does not make it any easier either. Others even have treatments regularly, some on an annual basis. But without a doubt, laser hair removal is still a good option.

Here are more of the advantages of this process. For one thing, it does not make use of needles being inserted into your skin. Needless to say, it does not cause much discomfort. You also need not worry about allergic reactions to chemicals coming in contact with your skin. And also, the process is considered to be safe in general when performed by professionals.

There are still side effects however, and the cost of laser hair surgery is quite high. A lot of people now prefer to use thermicon technology, which is painless, inexpensive and can be done from home.

If you are not sure if best-hair-removal-method.com laser hair surgery is for you, then check out best-hair-removal-method.com best-hair-removal-method.com to see if thermicon technology will suit you!

Laser Removal for Moles - The Pros and Cons of Laser Treatment for Moles

happinesslifetime.com Laser removal for moles is just one of an array of options now medically available. Depending on what you've got, different removal methods will be more appropriate than others. This article will look at laser treatment, and compare it to cryotherapy and surgical excision.

First, what exactly is a mole?

Moles come in two broad categories: those you are born with, and those you acquire later on.

Moles you have in infancy are just birthmarks. Millions of people have one or more, and they are often referred to as beauty marks. They do you no harm, and remain much the same size, color and shape throughout your life.

Moles you get later in life may need treatment, but not always. Occasionally these can be a precursor to skin cancer, but do not be alarmed. If you see a mole on your skin that is new, that seems to be growing, or is bleeding a little, by all means see a doctor.

Moles are often treated with cryotherapy or surgery. Cryotherapy is literally freezing the mole off with liquid nitrogen, while surgery is just what it says.

There are also a range of natural remedies which are beyond the scope of this article. Suffice to say that some may be worth your time, while others are clearly ineffective.

Laser therapy is the use of intense light energy to burn off your mole. A small hand held laser is used, and no anesthetic is required, though you may want one as there can be a little pain.

Lasers work best for moles which are relatively small, and have relatively shallow roots. The reason for this is that the lasers used are very low energy, and do not penetrate the deep layers of the skin. So, moles which go deep into your skin may require multiple treatments if your doctor opts for laser therapy.

The other problem with deep moles is that they have an increased chance of recurring. Again, laser treatment may be a waste of your time and money if you have a deep mole.

As I said a little earlier, laser treatment can hurt. The pain has been likened to an elastic band being struck against the skin. There is a sting to it, but it is not very great. Just the same, for your comfort, local pain management may be appropriate.

Scarring can be a problem with laser therapy depending on the type of skin your have, but most folks report that they are quire happy with their results. Low scarring has meant that laser therapy has become a very popular option for mole removal worldwide.

Alternative Healing with Cold Lasers

Have you heard the buzz about using cold lasers for healing countless ailments? Cold lasers are being used by Doctors, Dentists, Acupuncturists, DO's, Oral Surgeons, Veterinarians, Chiropractors and the list goes on. Treatment with cold laser therapy is quickly becoming one of the fastest growing segments of alternative medicine.

The first cold lasers were used over 30 years ago. In Europe, Asia and Canada cold lasers have been used routinely for about 20 years and yet in America they are relatively new to mainstream medicine. Why is this? Just 3 short years ago the United States FDA started to give clearance to cold lasers for use in specific areas. For example the treatment of carpal tunnel syndrome (CTS), neck and shoulder pain, and other pain treatment applications.

Additional names that are often used interchangeably with cold laser are: low level laser (LLT), photobiostimulation laser, photobiomodulation laser , biostimulating laser, bioregulating laser, soliton laser and soft laser. Until a consensus is reached, the two most important names to remember are cold laser and low level laser, which is often used interchangeably with low level laser therapy (LLLT).

Why is it called a cold laser? A laser that utilizes a diode that is 500 mW or less is called a cold laser because it does not produce enough thermal output to heat the tissue being treated. A variety of cold lasers are available on the market with different power outputs and different wavelengths. Common diode power outputs include: 5 mW, 30 mW, 50 mW, 100 mW, 200 mW and 500 mW. The higher the power output, generally the shorter the treatment.

Is there a difference between a laser and an LED? Yes, it is an important difference, which comes down to coherence and depth of penetration. A cold laser uses coherent, polarized light that is highly focused and columnated, allowing it to travel in a straight line for long distances or to penetrate into the deeper layers of the body. The light from LED's is monochromatic, non coherent light, which is useful for treatment of superficial tissues such as wounds and skin conditions. In comparative studies, lasers have been shown to be more effective and faster working. Some of the most effective and versatile lasers on the market utilize both laser and LED light output.

Is cold laser therapy scientifically well documented? LLLT will naturally not work on anything, however due to the fact that it treats at a cellular level, it is successful at treating an astounding level of conditions. Some research has failed to demonstrate effect in several indications, however proper treatment is dependant upon numerous factors including dosage, diagnosis, frequency of treatment and treatment technique. More than 2500 research reports are published and more than 100 double-blind positive studies confirm the clinical effect of cold laser therapy. Over 90% of the 370 studies revealed in the limited LLLT dental literature alone verify the clinical value of cold laser therapy.

Skin tags can be common occurrence and resemble elastic, hanging skin chunks. They consist of blood vessels along with collagen. Both components are trapped and forced into developing a blemish. They are likely to be brownish in color. Sometimes they may be silky, but more frequently are slightly wrinkled. At the early phases tags are rather minor and can stay tiny, but sometimes can grow large, as much as the size of the big grape. Go to doctor, in case you have a question about it and observe bizarre color or pink sphere around it, or it is bleeding.

In case of bizarre appearances, medical doctor will take a small section from tag and send to the lab intended for biopsy. In many cases, there isn't any need to worry as they aren't malicious.

These growths are not infectious and can be easy removed at the doctor's office as a minor surgery or else at home.

Among the best known surgical methods are cauterizing, freezing or laser treatment.

Cauterizing is practice when tag is burned using a special heated medical needle. Local anesthesia is often applied. The most important risk of this procedure is likelihood of scaring.

Freezing is another popular method. Dermatologist applies liquid nitrogen. Freezing offers instant results and usually just one visit is enough to eliminate it. Similar to cauterizing there is a risk of scaring.

One of the best methods for home is known as ligation. Take a dental floss and bond it around the base of the skin growth. Leave the floss tight around for few days. The idea of this method is to interrupt the blood supply to the tag. When the blood flow stops, it dries out and in few days it is possible for you to cut it off without risk of bleeding. This practice works best for large outgrows.

Another approach is to apply nail polish. Cover the skin tag with nail polish and re-apply it a number of times per day. In few days, it will dry out and then you can easily slice it off.

Yet an additional natural and safe removal method is to use a mixture of castor oil and baking soda the tag and leave it for couple of hours. Do again the process until skin tag falls off.

This increasingly common procedure removes the hair relatively quickly with a handheld device that releases beams of light into your hair follicles. Practitioners promise that your hair is removed quickly from the root with little discomfort, and you can expect that your hair will grow back at a much slower rate than with waxing. If you are looking into the procedure for yourself in a larger city such as New York, it is vital that you know all educate yourself on all aspects of laser hair removal, from knowing the basic principles behind it to knowing how to sift through the volumes of laser hair removal centers in the phone book, and especially what it will cost you to get this treatment.

There are many positive aspects of laser hair removal. The primary reason people seek out the procedure is for the relief and convenience of having unwelcome body hair removed for a long period of time. Although this treatment has not been proven to permanently remove body hair, there is often a permanent reduction in appearance of your hair, which can alleviate stress and embarrassment. When the hair does grow back, it is often a lighter color and a finer texture, which may prove to be more manageable, and might not warrant repeat procedures. As long as it is performed cautiously and by someone with experience, laser hair removal is generally considered safe. Laser hair removal is the best solution for those who have a large area on the body that they wish to treat, such as the back, chest, or legs that is too hard to maintain by shaving. Laser hair removal might be preferable in a case such as this because of the longer-lasting effects. Patients with fairer complexions that have darker body hair usually get the best results seen with laser hair removal.

Just as there are several positive aspects to laser hair removal, there are also some potential concerns raised with the procedure. Because the procedure goes largely unregulated, there is no medical evidence that laser hair removal is completely safe or effective. Further, it is difficult to establish a set gauge of hair regrowth rates, because every body is completely different. The process does not work as effectively on gray, red, or blonde hair, and people with darker skin tones or on people who tan themselves need to take heed, as there is a risk of burns, abrasions, or skin discoloration as a result of the procedure. Since it can take several sessions to get the desired effect, the cost of laser hair removal can be quite expensive. And because some people do not react to the process in any way, it can prove to be a waste of time and money.

As is common with most types of cosmetic surgeries or procedures, the cost of laser hair removal differs according to the region in which you live, and by the practitioners that perform the procedures. If it is a clinic that only performs laser hair removal, the cost might be slightly higher than if laser hair removal is performed by a plastic surgeon or clinic that specializes in more than one type of cosmetic procedure. In cities such as New York, where the cost of living is significantly higher than in other parts of the country, laser hair removal might be radically more expensive than in a region such as the Midwest. There are also a few other variables to think about that might affect the cost of your laser hair removal. If you will need multiple treatments, if you have a large area on your body that you want treated, or if you have thicker body hair, laser hair removal might be more expensive. When researching practitioners, look for special offers such as referral discounts, and check to see if any offer financing.

When looking for a practitioner to perform you laser hair removal in a city like New York, not only do you need to consider the increased cost, but you also need to bear in mind the reputation of the clinic you choose. You want someone trustworthy, and well thought-of. Make sure to schedule several in-office consultations with the practitioners that would perform the procedure on you, and try to get a patch test done. Check for clean facilities, and don't commit to the procedure until you have spoken to former patients that have had the procedure done. It is important to know the risks of a procedure like laser hair removal, both physically and financially. It is important to know that it probably isn't an everlasting solution to your unwanted body hair, and that the cost of laser hair removal in a large city like New York can be very high depending on your situation and the practitioner you choose.
