Laser Hair Removal - Is it Effective and Pain Free?

The biggest limitations to laser hair removal in the past were firstly pain, and secondly, it was not safe if you had dark or tanned skin. However with the newer generation of diode lasers (which are the gold standard for laser hair removal worldwide), the treatments are more comfortable (some may say even painless), and also safe for dark skin types.

The procedure is quite a gentle process. Instead of the standard pulse method of treatment, the new diode lasers use an innovative in-motion technology that treats in a continuous sweeping motion. During the treatment, a high energy beam of light goes through the skin and is absorbed by the pigment in the hair follicle. The laser energy does not go into the skin as a painful blast, but rather heats the hair follicles safely and gently until they no longer produce hair in the treated area.

How safe is laser hair removal

The removal of hair by lasers has been recognized by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) as an effective and safe treatment. As the laser only destroys the ability for hair to grow and does not effect the surrounding skin tissues, it is generally deemed a very safe and popular way for removing hair.

How many sessions are needed for effective hair removal

The number of treatments depends on the individual as hairs grows differently depending on your age, metabolism, hormones, weight and several other factors. As a general guide about 4-6 treatments are required to achieve a permanent reduction of hair growth.

Several sessions are needed as the hair may be in a different growth stage. In the active growth stage (85% of your hair), which can last several years, the hair grows steadily and the hair contains melanin. When melanin is exposed to the laser, the hair follicle is destroyed which makes this hair growth stage ideal for hair removal.

However, after the growth stage there is the regression stage (3-4%) during which the hair stops growing, and the resting stage (10-13%) where the hair is getting ready to be replaced before falling out. During these 2 latter stages there is hardly any melanin present and therefore the hair will be difficult to remove through laser treatment. As the hair in the treated areas may be in different stages it is necessary to repeat the treatment at various times.

On what parts of the body can laser hair removal be used?

You can do laser hair removal on almost every part of the body, but the most common areas for treatment are the underarms, arms, legs, upper lip and chin.

Which laser hair removal method is used?

At our aesthetic clinic we like to use the Soprano XL that uses a unique IN-Motion technology which treats in a continuous sweeping motion. Instead of a pulsed movement of treatment where the laser energy goes into the skin as a painful blast, hair removal through the Soprano XL laser heats the hair follicles safely and gently until they no longer produce hair.

The emphasis is on having a pain free and effective treatment that makes the hair removal process a comfortable one. Some people even describe it similar to a "hot stone massage".

Is Laser Resurfacing The Right Option For You?

A popular procedure known to help skin diseases, including wrinkles, scars and sun damage is known as laser resurfacing. If you suffer from any of these conditions and want something to increase your confidence,as well as going with a reasonably inexpensive procedure, laser resurfacing is a valid option. The procedure is very safe and offers a high degree of precision, while cutting down on any blood loss that you might expect from such a treatment.

By using lasers, the beams are able to ablate the skin tissue to drastically improve scars, wrinkles or blemishes. They are also used to cut skin tissue and or diminish visible blood vessels. Laser resurfacing works well with other cosmetic procedures such as chemical peels, and is a wonderful alternative to traditional resurfacing. There are certain limitations as it will substitute a facelift or get rid of excessive skin, which can be disappointing to some, but does offer a wide range of benefits. It generally only takes around 30-45 minutes for a general partial-face laser ablation while a full-face treatment takes about 1 1/2 to 2 hours. The time taken for the procedure is very reasonable and allows you to get on with your daily activities. The most treated areas are to correct areas around the eyes, mouth or forehead, all of which can be treated individually or with a full-face treatment.

After the procedure is completed, a sterile dressing is applied for 24 hours to the targeted areas that have been treated. The patient will then clean the areas as indicated by his or her physician. Healing time takes from one to three weeks and there may be redness for the next few months following the procedure. Your physician may recommend certain makeup to neutralize the redness in the face.

Final results with laser resurfacing might take up to six months to fully appear. It is crucial to stay patient and understand that only time will allow for a better appearance, more youthful and appealing. Although the results are long-lasting, they are not permanent. happinesslifetime.com Skin care is different with people, as some might require additional treatments over the years. It is important to maintain good skin-care regimen, staying away from the sun and continuing with any necessary lotions or creams to keep the skin looking fresh and rejuvenated.

Types Of Treatments For Laser Hair Removal

Shaving can cause cuts and skin irritation. It is also a time consuming part of the daily routine, and if you want that silky smooth skin you will have to shave almost every day. Throughout the years women have tried to find ways to get rid of the unwanted fuzz without spending a lot of time everyday trying to maintain their sleek look. Now there are creams and waxes that allow you to become smooth and stay that way for days on end. Unfortunately there are also problems with this method. Chemical burns and heat burns are on the top of the list as far as potential hazards. There is a better way, laser hair removal.

Laser hair removal is a broader term that covers photoepilation and electrolysis. These are two very different methods of removing unwanted growth on the surface of the skin. Either of these methods will work on any area of the body and are used by both men and women. There are some major differences between the two that potential patients should know about.

Photoepilation is probably the newer of the two laser hair removal options. Even though it became commercially popular in the 1970's the procedure had been around for almost twenty years. This type of disposition uses light pulses to heat the follicle. This targeting causes the area not to grow as quickly keeping the area smoother longer. It takes several initial treatments to fully remove growth from a given area and often times the patient will have to have touch-up sessions in order to keep the area free of unwanted fuzz. While this type of procedure doesn't heat up the surrounding skin it might not be completely painless. Also this only works well on darker strands.

Electrolysis has grown in popularity in the last few years. The method has been around for over a hundred years, but it wasn't as widely known. Unlike photepilation, electrolysis permanently disposes unwanted growth. For those interested in laser hair removal this is probably what you will be most interested in. This type of treatment will work on dark and light strands as opposed to just dark. This version can be a little more painful than the photepilation, but there are ongoing pushes in technology that is reducing the amount of pain felt during and after treatment. The patient may have to go in for several treatments before the unwanted growth is permanently removed.

Over time laser hair removal procedures will allow you to see less growth and that means less time shaving. It may take several visits before you see the drastic results but for many people it is worth the time. Take your time to find an expert to perform the procedure. Some states don't require extensive training and licensing to perform this type of procedure, so check into any potential offices to ensure their technician is trained. You don't want to run the risk of serious burns or injury due to the lack of training of others.

Can Laser Treatments Really Erase the Affects of Sun Damage?

When people go on vacation, there are some things that are standard. Some people like to go sightseeing, while others like to lie on a beach and get lots of sun. Tans have always (even though they can also be gotten via a tanning bed of course) been associated with travel. Plus, they make the skin look more toned.

However, as fun as getting a tan can be, it can also result in skin damage that might require various corrective procedures such as Fraxel. In order to understand how procedures such as Fraxel work, it is important to understand how irregular skin pigmentation is the main result of sun damage.

When the skin is repeatedly subjected to the sun, it is contingently exposed to ultraviolet rays. In turn, these rays activate the production of melanin in the skin in order to protect it. However, this excess melanin surfaces on the top layers of the skin, therefore causing the irregular pigmentation.

Fraxel is a laser procedure in which very small sections of the skin are repaired at a time to restore the skin to a consistent pigmentation. Specifically, the heat of the Fraxel laser destroys the skin molecules that have become saturated with melanin, and the light of the laser stimulates new skin tissue through increased blood flow. This kind of procedure is performed in an outpatient facility by a certified dermatologist. The procedure itself takes about a half hour to complete. Several sessions will have to be done for optimal results.

Is Your Skin Discoloured From the Sun? It May Be Melasma

Melasma, also known as the mask of pregnancy or cholasma, is a common disorder of hyper pigmentation, often difficult to treat and predisposed to recurrence.

PREDISPOSING FACTORS

Most common in women between 20-40 years of age
Rare in men
Darker skin types are more prone to melasma due to ethnic predisposition
Common in African Americans, South Asians and Orientals as well
Hormonal influences are thought to play an important role, such that it has a tendency to exacerbate with pregnancy, birth control pills, as well as in Peri menopause and Menopause
Exacerbated by sun exposure and tends to be more of a problem in the spring and summer
Melasma can be particularly troublesome for people in the service industry since the pigmentation of the skin can make the face appear dull and lack lustre.

Other causes of Melasma

Liver disease
Cosmetics
Medication
Nutritional deficiency
Beta carotene

DISTRIBUTION

Central face

Cheeks, forehead, upper lip, nose and chin.

Mid face

Less commonly the cheeks and nose.

Jaw line

The cheeks and jaw line. Melasma also can cause patches of pigmentation on the forearms, but this is rare. There is no special diet, health food, vitamin, or "magic lotion" which is useful for the treatment of melasma or other forms of facial pigmentation, so spending time and money on these things will not provide desired results.

TREATMENT

Treatment is difficult; however, a number of modalities are available for controlling the pigmentation, sometimes with dramatic results.

Bleaching creams

Most skin lightening systems are composed of a set of topical aimed at cleansing, exfoliating and lightening skin. A number of bleaching creams are available by prescription only. Our happinesslifetime.com skin care specialists have had success with Triluma cream (compounded by a local pharmacist) consisting of hydroquinone, retinoic acid and a steroid at Afterglow skin and laser centre.

In the initial 8-week study, 29% of patients experienced complete clearing of melasma by week 8, and 71% were clear or almost clear by week 8. Similarly, good results were seen in the two long-term studies, with the clear/mild rate ranging from 78% to 84% of patients at month 6 and from 81% to 94% of patients at month 12. Adverse events were almost always mild in severity and typically occurred only at the application site. The primary concern for most physicians using corticosteroid-containing products on the face is skin atrophy. However, only two cases of skin atrophy were reported across the three published studies. Overall, the results of these extensive studies indicate that triple combination cream is effective in treating melasma and exhibits a safe profile with low potential for adverse events.

Lumixil

Lumixil, an amino acid in combination with licorice and a fruit extract, works by inhibiting an enzyme called tyrosine in the skin that begins the process of making melanin in the skin.

Other lightening alternatives

Kojic acid
Azelaic acid
Glycolic acid

These happinesslifetime.com skin care treatments have a weak effect on pigmentation and often have to be used in high concentrations to produce visible results, producing greater irritation.

Natural compounds

Bearberry extract
Mulberry extract
Licorice extract
Vitamin C
Niacinamide

Fractional Laser And Intense Pulse Light

Melasma can often dramatically improve with a series of Fractional laser and intense pulsed light treatments spaced 1 month apart. Treatments should be medically supervised in a happinesslifetime.com skin care facility that is familiar with the treatment of melasma and other disorders of hyper pigmentation.

Sunscreens

Judicious use of broad spectrum sunscreens, with a high SPF of 60 applied every 2 hours, and continued long-term reduces the risk of relapse of melasma.

CONCLUSION

Melasma, also known as the 'mask of pregnancy', is an acquired brown pigmentation, usually on the face. No single pigment disturbance has proven more elusive to treatment than melasma. Although melasma continues to defy simple etiological explanation, it is clearly under the control of raccial, genetic, pharmacological and environmental factors. Sun exposure, pregnancy and oral contraceptive pills have all been associated with its presentations. Most patients seeking related happinesslifetime.com skin care treatments have exhausted current options, such as bleaching, Retin A and Azelaic acid, Chemicalpeels, lasers and phototherapy.

Results in melasma treated with afterglowskincare.ca/news/articles/fractional.html fractional resurfacing have been uniformly positive with modest to marked improvement in most patients. Although it is clear that fractional resurfacing does not cure melasma, it can improve it to a degree that can be maintained by standard bleaching programs and complete UVA/UVB sunscreens, which are essential components of happinesslifetime.com skin care therapy.

Advantages of Laser Liposuction Over Alternative Weight Loss Solutions

Losing weight is a battle that millions of people are fighting all the time. The exercise, the calorie counting, and the crazy dieting just do not seem to work for some people. If you are one of those individuals for who dieting is not providing the results you had hoped for, or if you are looking for a quicker and easier way to lose a lot of weight in a short amount of time, then laser liposuction is an excellent alternative. Cosmetic surgery has become much more widely accepted and readily available over the last decade or so, and is worth taking a closer look at.

Dieting is hard and is often unsuccessful. Losing weight the old fashioned way is a process that can take years and requires constant and careful maintenance in order to prevent the weight from coming back. With liposuction you can lose the excess weight in a matter of days rather than over the course of years. Laser liposuction can remove the excess fat from all over your body and can also tighten the skin leaving you looking years younger. This new type of liposuction has several advantages over both dieting and traditional liposuction techniques.

With laser liposuction you can go back to your daily routine within a day of having the procedure performed. The sessions usually only last a half hour to 45 minutes. The laser is not invasive and therefore causes a great deal less pain once the session is completed. There are also fewer anesthesias required for laser liposuction. There is also less chance for bruising and scarring with this type of procedure, which means that you will be back on your feet and living your life a lot quicker. The heat generated by the laser also helps to tighten the skin after the fat cells have been removed.

While laser liposuction is somewhat more expensive than traditional liposuction, the fact that you will be up and moving in no time with minimal scarring and a bruising makes it the better alternative. Diets can take a long time to give you the results you are looking for and are frankly hard, if not impossible to stick to. Liposuction can have you looking and feeling your best in no time and finally living the healthy and active lifestyle that you have always wanted. Proper diet and exercise will still be necessary to keep the weight off, but the almost immediate effects will give you a definite head start.

At BaconMD, we are dedicated to helping you achieve and maintain a look that is natural and healthier looking through treatment programs developed for your specific needs and lifestyle. Laser Hair Removal Facts - Learn the Facts Before You Open Your Wallet

Laser hair removal is the process of using a beam of light to destroy the hair follicles in various regions of the body. As a result there is very little chance of the hair growing back in that particular area. If the procedure is done correctly there won't be any damage taking place to the skin underneath the hair in or surrounding areas. There are risks associated with the process so you need to educate yourself about the facts before you decide if it is right for you or not.

It is important to find out about the type of equipment that the professional is going to use for the procedure. The process of laser hair removal was approved by the FDA in the mid 1990's. However it had been tested for about twenty years prior to that. There is plenty of older equipment out there being used that isn't safe and won't give you the same results as the updated technology. Many medical clinics use it though because the cost of the new equipment is too expensive.

There is a difference between laser hair removal and electrolysis, yet the two are often confused. With electrolysis the hairs are removed one at a time with equipment that sends electrical currents into the hair follicles. A laser destroys the hair follicles and can do many of them at one time. It is also faster and less painful than electrolysis.

Since there are some risks associated with laser hair removal only individuals over 18 can have it done on their own. It can be authorized at a younger age with the written consent of a parent or legal guardian. It has been tested to be a very effective type of hair removal treatment but it is also expensive. It is important to understand that you may need more than one treatment and that your hair can grow back in some instances.

Laser hair removal getlaserhairremoval.org/laser-hair-removal-for-men.html isn't a good option for everyone though. Only those individuals with fair skin will find it useful. Individuals with dark skin will find it often damages the coloring of the skin in the areas of treatment. Lighter colored hair including blonde, white, and gray get much better results than dark hair or red hair.

Top Maryland Laser Hair Removal Clinics and Spas

To enjoy the benefits of silky smooth skin, you do not have to

live on the West Coast. For example, Maryland laser hair

removal clinics and spas abound. If you live on the Eastern

side of the country but find unwanted hair causing you

embarrassment, inconvenience, or even personal problems such as

sweating and body odor, then happinesslifetime.com laser removal could be the ideal

solution, giving you back your life and freedom.

For people without excessive hair, this might not sound like a

big deal but you would be amazed at how many millions of people

struggle daily, all because of hair. While treatments are

proven safe, it is still important to be aware of safety

precautions and always schedule consultation time with three or

four doctors before choosing just one. Before you get unwanted

hair removed, you need to know that tanned or dark skin does not

respond. Now, we are seeing a few technological advances but

you want to make sure the clinic has the appropriate equipment

and training. Even so, achieving silky skin may not be reached.

On the other hand, if you have light skin and/or light hair,

chances are the results will be incredible. When you visit the

Maryland laser hair removal clinic or spa of your choice, the

professional staff will guide you through the process. You will

learn about the type of equipment used, the way in which the

laser energy works, what to expect after the procedure is

complete, and so on. To help the process be even more

successful, it is imperative two weeks prior to this procedure,

any waxing, plucking, or other hair removal methods other than

shaving being stopped.

Typically, the majority of people go through laser hair removal

without any complications. However, if you are taking

medication for skin allergy, if you have open sores caused by

acne, herpes, or cold sores, or have sensitive skin, it may be

recommended you wait or avoid the procedure altogether. Again,

by working with a professional Maryland laser hair removal

center, you will know exactly everything to have a new look and

feel.

The great thing about using laser to get rid of unwanted hair is

the possibilities. This particular treatment can be used for

the upper lip, the back, chest, legs, bikini line, back of the

neck, and so on. Probably the greatest decision after choosing

someone qualified is price. Unfortunately, this procedure is

not cheap. Even when you find discounts, expect to pay several

hundred dollars. Additionally, to have the smoothest skin and

best results, it usually requires three or more procedures.

Remember, while the services of a Maryland laser hair removal

clinic may be an excellent solution for unwanted hair, they are

not for everyone. With a consultation, all your questions will

be answered.

Laser Hair Surgery Removal - How It Works

For many women, laser hair surgery removal is an effective way to rid the bikini line of hair for good or the tool that allows them to give up the razor and avoid razor burn, stubble and ingrown hairs that can be caused by shaving.

How does the surgery work? Small pulses of light are exposed to small portions of the skin, causing the hair follicle to stop with the ability to grow and produce hair. With multiple sessions the results are increased and eventually the hair growth is stalled, reducing the appearance of the current hair on the body or the legs, even the face, and eradicating the current hair that is growing in the area.

What should you consider before making the decision to have laser hair removal to combat the hair growing on your body? Before making the decision it is important to consider the potential side effects of the surgery. Common side effects include redness and discomfort through the area where the lasers have been applied. Less common side effects that can be caused by an inexperienced laser hair technician including burning, scarring and the chance of discoloration through the top layers of the skin.

It is important to make the right choice when it comes to the laser hair clinic that has been chosen. Consider the reputation of the clinic and the expertise of the person that is administering the laser before making the decision. Using the consultation services that are available to have any questions answered and concerns addressed can be an effective way to ensure that you are able to take advantage of the services that are available with a clear conscience.

Laser Skin Resurfacing Can Make One Look Their Best When Seeking a New Career

As the economy weakens, layoffs are becoming a far too common reality of Americans' everyday lives. Suddenly, many in once secure positions are now facing unemployment for the first time in decades. In this climate of a vastly increased pool of potential workers, looking one's best is more important than ever.

Not only is there greater competition, but now more than ever, there is a huge amount of potentially qualified candidates. While in the past, a highly impressive resume was enough to land a position, these days, there's so many applying for the same jobs that there's no guarantee anymore.

For many, this economic downfall means applying for a new job for the first time in decades. It's not only stressful, but it can be dispiriting too. Confidence is essential to the interviewing process. Walking into such a situation feeling anything other than one hundred percent can mean the difference between getting the job and another nine months of unemployment.

Unfortunately, for middle aged individuals this isn't always so easy. The natural effects of aging and exposure to weather can wreck havoc on one's skin. For many, it means feeling decades younger than they appear. Laser skin resurfacing is an easy, affordable solution to aged and weather beaten faces.

Most healthy adults are ideal candidates for laser skin resurfacing. Not only is it growing in popularity among women and men, but it's minimally invasive and quick, especially when compared to other cosmetic procedures.

It is most useful for dulling the effects of acne, age, wrinkles, excessive sun exposure, and any discolorations. By removing layers of skin, it can do much to make a person look younger and provide a more uniform appearance to the face.

This procedure is done on an outpatient basis. It can take as little as a half hour or in cases of more intensive procedures, two hours. Recovery times vary greatly, but are usually consistent in relation to the seriousness of the procedure. Typical side effects can include redness of the treated area for several weeks following the operation and swelling in instances of more intensive operations.

Typically two types of lasers are used. These are CO2 lasers, and Erbium lasers. CO2 are used primarily for the most intensive operations. It can help eliminate and reduce the appearance of warts, sun spots, wrinkles and birthmarks. In some cases it's even used in the early stage treatment of some cancers. The Erbium variety is used on the thinnest layer and has less effect on pigmentation. It's used for more minimal work and decreases the chances of permanent scarring.

Another type, known as Fraxel, is the least invasive of the three, leaving virtually no pain, no scarring, and no need any downtime following treatment. Its effects are far less noticeable than the others and it requires multiple visits, in some instances involving months to show any progress. It's good for those looking for gradual yet minimal change without the hassle of going under.

So maybe a laser skin resurfacing could be the thing to re-jumpstart your career. It can help convey to potential employers you look as good as you feel inside.

Titan laser already created a buzz in the recent cosmetic surgery world. The symbol of latest health fashion is a non surgical and effective way to face lifting. Titan laser is getting incredibly popular these days because more people are trying this and getting desired results. This is the latest breed of laser technology that offers to cure the skin problems without causing you discomfort, pain or hazards. The procedure penetrates and activates collagen underneath the skin surface to make the skin tighten. The main reason of the sagged and wrinkled skin is the stretching out of the collagen fiber and their breaking out. But titan laser treatment helps the collagen to contract and thicken so that the dry and saggy skin problem can be solved for a long time. Not only this, the treatment also helps us produce more collagen to ensure the healthy and younger look.

Titan laser can be applied not only for the facial rejuvenating purposes. The procedure can be used for body and neck as well. However, most of the people found this suitable for facial improvements only. The treatment helps us in defining the beauty of cheeks, neck, forehead and jowl. In recent time, different parts of the body like the arms and thighs are also treated with the procedure. However, treating the areas like the knee and the elbow are the most difficult parts to treat.

Titan laser procedure takes 10 minutes to one hour depending on the approach and techniques of the doctor. There is hardly any chance of pain of discomfort. However, redness or swelling can occur immediate after the procedure but it will be cured within 1 or 2 hours of treatment.

You can feel the difference in your skin immediately after the operation but the best results would be seen after two or three months when the collagen formation began to make the skin look glowing, smoother and younger.

Tumescent Laser Liposuction - Less Pain, Quicker Recovery

Most people, no matter how fit and healthy, have areas of extra fat on the body that they do not like. In men it is the waist area, and in women the tummy, hips and thighs. Many of us have often thought that it would be nice to have liposuction to remove the excess fat and start over again by watching our diet and exercising. However traditional old time liposuction is a traumatic surgical procedure which is painful and with a prolonged recovery. Worse, a large percentage of people who have old time liposuction end up with lumps bumps, divots and irregularities on the skin after liposuction.

I have been using tumescent laser liposuction with the new SlimLipo laser lipo technique for almost a year now and I am amazed at how much better the tumescent laser liposuction technique is than the old time non-laser liposuction method. My patients have smooth tight skin after laser liposuction, and their recovery after laser lipo is much easier and less painful.

The benefit of the new tumescent laser liposuction technique is that the laser melts the fat before it is removed, making fat removal much easier with laser lipo. The tumescent technique minimizes bleeding and discomfort. The laser also tightens the skin as the fat is melted. The result is more uniform fat removal, smooth skin, less bleeding and less pain after tumescent laser liposuction.

What Is Tumescent Laser Liposuction?

Tumescent laser liposuction is a new liposuction method that combines the use of tumescent solution with laser melting of fat before fat removal. Tumescent solution is a liquid that contains an anesthetic or numbing solution and a vasoconstrictor, a medication that helps control bleeding. The tumescent solution is injected beneath the skin, into the fat to be removed, before the laser liposuction or laser lipo is started.

The tumescent solution numbs the skin area for pain control which can last up to 24 hours. The solution also prevents bleeding which reduces post laser liposuction bruising and swelling, which speeds recovery.

The tumescent solution is injected under pressure, which swells or distends the fat and makes removal easier. The distention and hydration (adding water to) of the fat also improves the effectiveness and safety of the laser treatment to dissolve the fat.

The benefits of the tumescent laser liposuction technique are

Excellent pain control

Less bleeding and bruising
More effective fat removal
Less risk of skin irregularities after liposuction

How Is the Tumescent Laser Liposuction Treatment Done?

Tumescent laser liposuction may be done with you awake or asleep. Many areas can be treated with you awake using only the local anesthesia provided by the tumescent solution. However, the benefits of tumescence are so important that tumescent solution is also used when laser liposuction is done under general anesthesia, for control of bleeding, improved fat removal and for post operative pain management.

After your skin has been cleansed with a sterile anti-bacterial soap, the skin area to be liposuctioned is sterilely draped to prevent contamination. Tiny punctures are made in hidden areas of the skin, and a small needle inserted beneath the skin into the fat to be removed. The tumescent solution is then injected into the fat under pressure to swell the fat and deliver the anesthetic and vasoconstrictor (prevents bleeding) solution.

After a brief waiting period until your skin is numb and the tumescent fluid has taken effect, the laser fiber is inserted through the same puncture sites and the fat is melted with the laser. The fat is liquefied into a thin liquid which is much easier to remove than fat that is removed with traditional old time liposuction.

After the fat has been liquefied, a small tube called a cannula is inserted and the liquid fat removed by suction. Because the fat has been liquefied, much smaller cannulas can be used than with traditional non-laser liposuction. This fact results in a less traumatic procedure with tiny hidden scars, very different from old time liposuction.

The laser also tightens the skin as the fat is lased. The laser heats the fibers that attach your skin to your body, and causes these fibers to shorten which pulls the skin closer to the body. Microscopic studies have shown that many more fibers, called connective tissue, are left after laser liposuction than after non-laser liposuction. I believe that this fact helps explain the improved skin tightening and smooth skin after laser liposuction.

How Will I Feel After Surgery?

Because the new technique places numbing solution in the liposuction area, you will have very little discomfort immediately after and up to 12 hours after your procedure. In addition you will be given strong pain killers to manage any discomfort.

The second day you will feel discomfort in the treated areas, however in my experience, the level of discomfort is certainly much less than that experienced with traditional non-laser surgery. By day 3 most patients are very comfortable.

You will be wearing a supportive compression garment on the treated areas which adds additional support and comfort.

You will be up and around, able to eat, walk, use the bathroom and do normal daily activities the day after your procedure. I recommend that you not go to the gym or do vigorous physical activity for the first week to ten days because I want the healing process to be undisturbed during this time.

How Long Is the Recovery?

You will be active and walking from day one. However I will limit your vigorous exercise and weight lifting or aerobics for ten days.

Your garment will be changed to a light Spanks type garment after three to five days. If small sutures are used to close the small puncture sites they will be removed at day five.

When small areas like the chin or a minor tummy procedure are done, some people return to work the next day. I do not recommend returning to work the same day-I want you to be quiet and rest the first day.

Recovery to a more normal skin appearance can take ten days to two weeks for swelling and bruising, if any, to resolve.

Your skin appearance, skin tightening and result will continue to improve for three to six months as the skin gradually tightens over the areas where fat has been removed. The remarkable thing about the this new technique technique is that the skin is much smoother than after traditional old time suction lipectomy. I believe that the laser dissolving of the fat prior to removal results in a more uniform fat removal.

Which Laser is best?

I use the SlimLipo Aspire system made by Palomar Medical. I have chosen this laser because the SlimLipo uses the only laser wavelength which is specifically absorbed by fat. The SlimLipo uses a 924nm (nm=nanometers, one millionth of a meter and describes the wavelength of the laser color in the visible light spectrum, which for 924nm is yellow, the color of fat) laser wavelength.

The 924nm laser wavelength used in SlimLipo dissolves or releases three to five times as much fat during lasing as do the other commonly used wavelengths. The other wavelengths used by different machines target water, not fat, and are less efficient and less specific at fat dissolving.

The 924nm SlimLipo also works very well in hydrated fat, meaning that fat dissolving with the laser works very well after the tumescent fluid has been injected.

How Do I Find a Surgeon?

I am a board certified plastic surgeon, thus I am very prejudiced that you should have your procedure performed by a board certified plastic surgeon. My view is that if you are going to have surgery of any kind, you want a board certified surgeon who has been fully trained and is expert at taking care of a surgical patient. You want the safety of knowing that if something goes wrong, your doctor will have the skill, experience and training to take care of you.

Many dermatologists do liposuction. If you wish to have a dermatologist do your procedure, I recommend that you make certain that your dermatologist is board certified and has had a fellowship in dermatologic surgery.

I recommend that you visit the following sites to learn more about liposuction surgery and how to check out your doctors training, experience and board certification status:

American Board of Plastic Surgery

American Society of Plastic Surgeons

American Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgeons

What Questions Should I Ask the Doctor?

Do not be intimidated by the white coat and afraid to ask the doctor important questions. You are an educated consumer, and a good doctor will welcome the fact that you are prepared and have done your reading. I prefer to have informed patients, they always do better after surgery. Plastic surgery is no place for snap decisions or impulse buying.

In my book Save Your Face, in Chapter ten, I give details on how to choose your doctor and what questions to ask. A brief summary of important questions are:

o Are you certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery?

o How often do you do this procedure?

o Do you think I am a good candidate for this procedure?

o Are you comfortable operating on me with my particular goals?

o Do you anticipate a good result-why?

o Can you show me before and after picture of patients that you have operated on?

o Can I speak to a patient who has had this surgery by you?

o What are the arrangements for an emergency during nights and weekends-are you available?

o Will my procedure be done in an approved operating room or outpatient facility under standard sterile and safety precautions? Are emergency services and monitoring available if needed?

Most importantly, trust your gut feelings during your visit with the doctor. Is the office clean and professional? Do the doctor and staff treat you in a respectful manner? Ask yourself will I be comfortable calling these people and depending on them if I have an emergency at night or on weekends? Will I be comfortable expressing my concerns or disappointment if I feel that way? If you detect any discomfort or uncertainty, you should consult another doctor.

This new laser procedure is a remarkable, revolutionary advance in liposuction and fat removal techniques. The benefits can be very significant. However, the results of liposuction, like any surgical procedure are very dependent upon the skill and expertise of your surgeon. Choose wisely and I expect that you will have a very happy result.

Is Laser Hair Removal The Best Option For Me?

One of the newest and most effective methods of removing unwanted hair is laser hair removal. But what is it? And how does it compare to the more well known methods of hair removal?

These are the questions I'm going to answer for you in this article.

Firstly, laser hair removal is a modern way of removing unwanted hair. It can be quite expensive to have this treatment, especially if you want a large area to be treated. Also, if you want permanent hair removal, you will need to have multiple sessions. This means the price can really add up.

But on the plus side, once you've had it done, you won't ever have to shave or wax again! For many people, this makes laser hair removal well worth the money.

It's also one of the most effective methods of hair removal available. Although it works better for people with dark hair and fair skin rather than people with dark skin, or light hair. Why? Because the laser needs to be able to tell the hair follicle apart from the rest of your skin, otherwise it can be dangerous.

So how does it compare to other forms of hair removal?

Well, laser hair removal has many advantages over things like shaving and waxing. As you already know, if you shave, you will have to keep doing this regularly otherwise you will soon grow stubble. And waxing can be painful for some people, which may put them off from doing it regularly (or ever again!)

There are some other options, such as electrolysis. This can be cheaper than laser hair removal, and it's also a permanent hair removal procedure. One of the main drawbacks to this method is that some people can find it painful. It works by a needle being applied directly on the hair follicle, and electricity passed through it to kill off the hair follicle.

But laser hair removal has many benefits over electrolysis. Some of the main benefits include the fact that it tends to be less painful, and it's quicker. A lot quicker. Laser hair removal treatments range from a few minutes, whereas electrolysis usually takes many hours.

I hope this article has been able to give you a good overview of what laser hair removal is, and if it's an option worth considering for your particular needs. It may not be the cheapest option, but if you want permanent hair removal, it's probably one of the best solutions out there.

Skin Mole Removal Secrets - How to Remove a Mole Naturally

Moles appearing at the wrong place of the body can prove to be a disaster to any person. This is especially so when you start noticing people talking about them. Worse is the case that you might even become paranoid about it. The good news is, you can always clear that imperfection by learning how to remove a mole.

There are 2 kinds of skin mole removal methods. They are the artificial removal method and the natural removal method.

Artificial methods can be costly and painful. They range from surgical to happinesslifetime.com laser removal.

Surgical mole removal method, is the only way that you should use if your moles are cancerous. There are basically 3 types of surgical methods namely shave excision, punch biopsy, and excisional surgery. Since they are removed by shaving and cutting off the mole, they run the risk of leaving a scar. However, again, if the mole is cancerous, the mole should only be removed through surgery and not by any other means.

Laser mole removal method removes a mole by "burning" it. Using a cautery tool, the heat of the laser beam heats up the mole tissues with the intention of bursting them. It is very effective in removing brown moles but the disadvantages is that it can be quite costly and painful.

Another way of removing any moles on the skin is by the natural method. In fact, this removal method is becoming more and more popular because it does not leave and scars and is painless. Natural skin mole removal works by destroying the cluster cells that formed the moles.

Here is how to remove a mole naturally with natural methods:

Apply the natural treatment onto your skin. A scab should appear within 24 hours after the application of the treatment. Leave the scab on and it will fall off naturally in the next 24 - 48 hours, revealing a new, healthy skin beneath.

Moles can be removed and you have the choice not to live with it. One of the most popular natural skin mole removal secret is uncovered in a book by Dr Charles Davidson. It is one of the best non-medical and effective on how to remove a mole in the market today.

Acne Scar Laser Treatment - The Most Effective Treatment

What is the best acne treatment? By now you have probably asked yourself that a million times. Perhaps you have also tried various treatments, some of them may have worked, some of them possibly failed. All in all, the methods you are choosing just aren't giving you the results that you expect.

Maybe you can blame the results you are getting on the advertisers of acne medication. They make us believe that they have the magic bullet. In truth, at best it can be just controlled. There is no out and out cure for acne. Acne is a fact of life, sad perhaps, but it is just something that we have to content with.

I believe however, that perhaps you are not getting the result you want because you are not looking at acne treatment from a global perspective. What I mean to say is, acne is not the result of one thing or another. It arises for many reasons. If we take care of our bodies, wash correctly, watch our nutrition, manage our stress level, exercise, and hydrated adequately, acne can be managed with some success.

Ah, but you are thinking that is not so easy. And your right. To some degree it is not. It means adjusting your lifestyle, making some changes and sticking to a routine.

The first thing to look at is your washing technique. Contrary to thinking, acne is not caused by poor hygiene, but it can be made worse by how we wash. Harsh soaps, scented soaps, and antibacterial soaps are murder on the skin, especially the face. Washing and rubbing with a face clothe or any exfoliate material like loofas makes acne even worse. Just be kind and gentle to your skin. It is inflamed and infected, it needs loving care. So, when you wash, use just your hands, a mild soap, rinse well, and pat dry. Then if you choose, apply an acne medication.

Nutrition and hydration go hand in hand with acne control. Good skin loves nutrition food, with lots of fruit, veggies and whole grain. It also loves lots of hydration, so drink plenty of water. You might think that water in the form of caffeinated drinks is good - not so. Caffeine dehydrates - very hard on the skin.

Do you exercise? I am not talking about marathon gym sessions, or running 5 miles a day. A simple brisk walk for 20 minutes will do your skin wonders. Exercise increases blood flow to the skin which helps rejuvenation by oxygenation. Your skin is crying out for it. Not only will it help fight the acne, it will give you a healthy glow.

Stress is a tough one. It does go hand in hand with today's hectic lifestyle, but stress absolutely makes your acne worse. One of the things that aggravates acne is stress. When we feel under pressure, stress hormones are released in our bodies. These hormones actually help us to cope better in stressful situations, too bad they wreck havoc with our skin. Avoiding stress takes practice, but it can be done.

All of these measures will help you control acne, but they will not prevent it. Nor are they a total guarantee that you won't get a good bought of it. It your acne is so bad that you can't keep it under control, then by all means, see a doctor for advise.

Hair Island Laser Long Removal

Hair island laser long removal is perhaps the safest and most effective methods of getting rid of unwanted body hair. Whether it is your legs, chin, upper lip or elsewhere you can do away with all the growth of hair in these parts of your body.

Hair island laser long removal works by directing a laser beam to a group of hair follicles to destroy the root. However I can assure you that it targets only the hair and not the adjoining skin. In fact the surrounding skin remains completely unaffected. You will get the maximum result if you have light skin and dark hair. It does not work on those individuals who have gray, white, red or true blond hair. Since the laser beam is also attracted to the melanin in the skin people with dark skin types or sun tans are at a risk of side effects.

Skin Care Tips Sure to Benefit the Delicate Facial Area

Pennsylvania resident Alice Andrews wanted more than anything to be the kind of woman to age gracefully. While she was still relatively young, she dreaded the future and the effects aging might just have on her overall appearance. For several years, since she had become conscious that aging would eventually catch up with her, she had done everything in her power to take the best care of herself that she possibly could. She had begun walking every day, she had taken up meditation, she had begun daily conditioning of her scalp, she had undergone laser hair removal Philadelphia on her facial area and made sure that she scheduled regular facial appointments at her favorite salon and spa. When Pennsylvania residents seek experts in happinesslifetime.com skin care Philadelphia has some excellent dermatologists and Alice had visited one of the very best. She had originally visited the dermatologist to have a suspicious mole evaluated but through her visits she learned a few things about how to properly and thoroughly clean her face in order to protect it and to control the effects of aging. If you, like Alice desire to do the best possible job of maintaining your face, consider the following facial suggestions.

? No matter the season, when spending time outdoors, apply a sunscreen with at least a SPF of 15. Even if the sun does not feel hot, as it may in the summer season, it can still do damage to exposed areas of the face and body. Experts almost always recommend that in addition to sunscreen you keep your scalp covered and that you avoid being outdoors during the most intense hours of sunshine, typically between 10:00 am and 2:00 p.m.

? Avoid the application of harsh chemicals on your face, including body wash or bar soap. The days of washing with harsh soaps are long gone and there are a plethora of products available apart from good old fashioned soap.

? Find a daily cleanser specifically designed for facial cleansing. Known to be gentle and mild for the face, cleansers will clean and wash away the oil and grime most effectively.

? Incorporate an exfoliate ingredient into a facial product routine. Exfoliates get rid of dead cells and allow healthy cells to flourish. They help prepare healthy skin for moisturizing products.

? Condition your face with a daily moisturizing product as this will keep your face hydrated and promotes a healthy, clean glow. It will keep the face feeling soft to the touch and looking its very best.

? Select make up products which highlight your strengths and conceal any imperfections. Be cautious when applying products not to error on the side of too much product.

? Apply a lip balm or lip conditioner to keep lips moist and to protect lips against the harmful rays of the sun or the effects of the wind.

Properly maintaining your face on a daily basis will keep it looking healthy and will keep you looking young and fresh. Incorporating a daily facial routine at a young age will only increase the benefits as you age and mature. While some wrinkles are a part of life, a simple facial regimen can help you age gracefully.

Why a Visit to the Tattoo Laser Clinic is Really the Only Way to Truly Remove a Tattoo

Visiting a tattoo laser clinic and getting treated by professionals is really the only option for effective tattoo removal. There are a number of other methods available today but these other methods have a number of drawbacks with the main one being that they simply are not able to get the job done properly.

There are a number of reasons why someone might want to get rid of a tattoo. Perhaps you got your body art when you were a teenager and as you got older your tastes may have changed. Perhaps you've ended a relationship and want to remove the name of your ex. Tattoo removal is not only for people that have had a change of heart and are no longer happy with a decision they made years ago. A lot of patients that visit a tattoo laser clinic want to get a tattoo removed or lightened to make room for a new one.

Whatever the reason for wanting to get your tattoos removed, laser treatment is your best option. Other options that are currently available are dermabrasion and various fading creams. Dermabrasion is very much what it sounds like, using an abrasive to actually scrub away the top layers of skin in order to get to the ink. If it sounds painful, that's because it is. It also has a significant risk of scarring and infection. The various fading creams on the market are not any better. Many of the creams simply don't work and if they are able to fade a tattoo at all, the results are minimal and take a very long time for you to see any significant progress. Fading creams use chemicals applied directly to your skin in order to lighten the ink and these creams could cause a rash or even permanently change the pigmentation of your skin.

Finding a good tattoo laser clinic means that you will be treated by licensed professionals that are certified tattoo removal specialists. happinesslifetime.com Laser removal will not be completely pain-free but the pain is equivalent to what you may have felt when you were getting a tattoo. Laser treatments do not have the same risks and side effects that you would face with dermabrasion and fading creams and it is a far less painful method then scrubbing off the top layers of skin. Many laser clinics will also guarantee removal, if there is still visible in after you have completed the recommended number of treatments a lot of clinics will continue to treat you for up to an additional year at no extra cost.

Laser treatments are not like waving a magic wand, there will be some costs involved and it may take weeks or even several months for a tattoo to be fully removed but the end results will be far superior than any of the other methods available today and without the risk of scarring, infection, or permanent skin discoloration. If you have a tattoo that you need to remove, a visit to a tattoo laser clinic is your best option.

Don't Leap Before Looking Into Risks of Laser Hair Removal

The laser hair removal and pulsed light hair removal are methods of permanent hair removal. The methods based on laser or light are sometimes called photo-depilation.

Some machines use a lamp called xenon flash lamp that emits a spectrum of light (intense pulsed light or IPL).

Treatments with the lamp flash are sometimes referred to as laser hair removal but don't really have the results as laser.

The basic principle of laser hair removal is the "selective thermolysis". The laser causes damage in localized areas by burning and emitting black hair without burning the rest of the skin. The light is absorbed by the black areas called chromophores.

The laser hair removal targets melanin mainly. There are two types of melanin: eumelanin (which gives black hair) and pheomelanine (which gives red hair, the color of Asian skin and freckles).

If the hair contains less melanin, the laser is less effective. It is for this reason that people with gray, red or blonde hair are not good indications for laser hair treatments.

On the other hand, if the skin contains more melanin, the chances are lower that the laser can make the difference between the skin and hair.

For this reason, black people can not use this technique.

A light skin and dark hair is the best combination for happinesslifetime.com laser removal.

For other photo types, the only solution is the electric depilation.

Laser technology is used for a growing number of beauty treatments including hair removal, the relissage of the skin to reduce wrinkles or treat scars caused by acne, removing blemishes and pigment processing vascular lesions. It also uses laser to remove tattoos.

If you plan to use one of these techniques, it is important that you examine the risks and potential benefits.

The hazards and the effects of laser hair treatment:

Even when the laser is chosen for a given treatment, there is a risk of temporary as an immediate pain, reddening of the skin, bruising and swelling. Some lasers are equipped with cooling devices to reduce the risk.

Other side effects may also occur as the formation of blisters, burns and infection. In some cases the skin may become lighter or darker, but these complications are rarely permanent.

If the laser is not well chosen or that the technique is not well done, the results could not be obtained and a permanent scar may form. There is also a risk of eye damage if you do not protect adequately the eyes during the laser treatment.

For hair removal, the laser targets the melanin of the hair follicle. For the reduction of wrinkles and the treatment of scars caused by acne, the target device damages the cells that are near the surface of the skin. The results are similar to the tightening of the skin obtained with conventional techniques for relissage of the skin, such as chemical peeling and mechanical abrasion.

The main side effect is the risk of burns if you are tanned when the laser heats the surface area of skin rich in melanin. That is why it is not right to follow the laser treatment sessions without sun protection.

Our advice to limit the dangers of your laser hair removal:

o Make sure that the person operating the laser has the training and experience required for the efficient and safe removal.

o If you use laser hair removal, no tan before and after treatment.

o Make sure you protect your eyes, and ask questions about cooling the skin during laser treatments.

o Make the right choice of hair removal according to your skin and the area.

o Check the wavelength of the beam of energy that targets the tissue and the power setting of the device.

This technique is also not recommended for people with hormonal imbalance.

The results of laser treatments are not guaranteed:

The aesthetic laser techniques can be costly and you may be disappointed with the result if you are not a good candidate or if you have unrealistic expectations. For example, hair removal is more effective in people who have fair skin and dark hairs. This technique is not so effective in people with blonde, red, gray or white hair or the ones with dark skin. Most people must pay for multiple sessions to get good results. According to the operator and the type of laser used, the hair removal could be permanent (30%), but there is no guarantee that the technique will work for everyone or all parts of the body.

What is Laser Skin Resurfacing, Jessner's Peel and Trichtomcetic Acid?

Jessner's Solution

Jessner's solution is made up of lactic acid (an alpha hydroxy acid), salicylic acid (a beta hydroxy acid), and resorcinol. This solution, for light to medium depth peels, can be used to lighten areas that have dark pigment and to treat sun-damaged skin. The solution can be used on the face, neck, and chest but should be used with some caution when peeling skin off the face. You will peel and flake for about a week and then the new skin surface will appear. You can undergo a second peel in about four weeks if further improvement is desired. As with all skin peels, you should protect your skin after the peel with sunscreens and clothing when possible.

TCA Peels

Trichloracetic acid (TCA) peels are the next most aggressive level of peels. The primary benefit is a more uniform color to your skin. Check out the results in Figure 8-5. In addition, you should notice some reduction in fine lines and wrinkles, as well as some restoration of skin elasticity. This peel also removes some precancerous lesions.

Your doctor can perform TCA peels with or without anesthesia. If the concentration of the acid is over 15 percent (TCA peel solutions are available for clinical use in concentrations from 5 percent to 40 percent), I recommend sedation and local anesthesia with monitoring of your vital signs. Your doctor probably will prescribe antibiotic and antiviral medications that you'll start the day before the peel and continue until you're healed.

Your skin will need from three to ten days to completely peel, depending upon the depth of the peel. Most often these peels are done as medium to deep peels, so peeling will not be complete for seven to ten days. After the peel, you'll have very little discomfort. Here are a couple tips on how to care for your skin after the peel:

o    Do not assist in the peeling process by pulling off the loose flakes or sheets of skin.

o    Use mild washes and a moisturizer.

o    After your skin is completely peeled, it will appear slightly red or pink, and you'll be able to apply makeup.

Laser Skin Resurfacing

One of the most popular skin procedures is laser skin resurfacing, which has proved to be one of the top anti-aging procedures around. In 2008 there was 400,262 laser skin resurfacing procedures performed in the US that's up 134% since 2000, so this procedure has definitely caught on.

Procedures in anti-age skin resurfacing were limited to high-risk and high pain treatments such as microderm abrasion, chemical peels, and dermabrasion which can draw blood and basically wounds the skin. Laser skin resurfacing is less harmful, and is becoming the go-to option in reducing wrinkles, decrease skin coloration, with minimal scarring.

Remove Your Hair With Laser

One of the greatest feats in cosmetic technologies today is the development of the Hair Removal Laser technology. This form of therapy involves the removal of unwanted hair in specific parts of the body like the face and arms, for example. It is obvious that most women would find this therapy quite appealing, but men can also benefit from it. This form of therapy is, by and large, painless.

What is the span of this form of therapy?

The basic principle behind laser therapy lies in the fact that hair can be vaporized by the application of lasers. General knowledge of physics provides that the color black always absorbs the maximum amount of energy. Hence, black hair is vaporized more easily than lighter shades.

The aim of Hair Removal Laser therapy is to target hair cells whose follicles are in the active stage of growth. Since different hair cells can be in this phase of growth during different times, it is recommended that a patient is treated at least five times over a period of over six months in order to make the removal permanent.

What are the different kinds of lasers used?

Hair removal technology has employed different kinds of lasers. Ruby lasers were once widely used for this therapy, but that is no longer the situation. Different kinds of lasers are used for different kinds of hair-skin combinations. The YAG laser, for example, is best suited for dark-colored skin bearing dark hair. For light-colored skin, the Alexandrite laser may be applied. The Diode laser, arguably the most commonly encountered type today, is also effectively used for hair removal using laser technology.

Hair Removal Laser technology also involves buffering and cooling procedures to minimize damage to the skin caused by overheating or tactile abrasions that laser therapy might cause. Different clinics use different kinds of procedures in this respect, resulting in perfectly painless hair removal sessions.

Laser Hair Removal

Laser hair removal can be a great advantage for some, and an unfortunate disadvantage for others. However, before throwing in the towel, why not find out if you are one of the lucky ones that can benefit from laser hair removal.

Firstly, let's take a look at how the laser hair removal treatment works, as well as what benefits this hair removal treatment offers if you are the right candidate.

Removing hair with a laser is actually a simple and painless routine. Quite simply put; a Laser is activated on the skin surface where the candidate wishes to have their hair removed. Each laser burst lasts for about a fraction of a second. It is in this time period that the energy of the laser passes through the hair follicle and damages it, thus preventing the hair from growing there again.

With some people, one treatment can stop the hair from growing again. For others, more than one treatment is needed. Imagine having never to shave or wax that area ever again or at least for much longer periods of time in between treatments.

So what makes you the right candidate in order to forego a successful laser hair removal treatment? Generally people with light colored hair and dark skin are not the right candidates for laser hair removal. However, to really find out if this type of hair removal treatment can work for you, your best bet would be to visit a fully qualified laser hair removal practitioner so that they can give you their professional opinion.

It is important to understand that not everyone experiences permanent hair removal through laser treatment. Some will and others won't. There is never a guarantee. If a practitioner ever tells you otherwise, you would be wise to think twice about using his or her service.

Acne Laser Surgery - A Path Toward A Glamorous Complexion

happinesslifetime.com Acne laser surgery is a breakthrough in treating acne scars. This has become a very realistic option to restore a glamorous complexion. This is executed by focusing a yellow beam of lights in a back and forth motion between special lenses and mirrors to destroy bacteria causing scars. The bouncing of the beams ignites the power of the light which is released scientifically in small light energy. When this amplified light touches the target area, it heals and alters the damaged cells or tissues of the skin gradually. It somehow peels the damaged skin using carbon dioxide laser to remove damaged skin by vaporizing the epidermis of the skin damaged by acne. It has been proven that such technique increases original collagen production which is beneficial to present scars.

Three main types of happinesslifetime.com acne laser surgery are ablative, non-ablative and fraxel. Ablative procedure uses carbon dioxide laser. Non ablative procedure directly works to the infected area destroying causing acne. This procedure is also use to repair discoloration and prevents scars in the long run providing milder and non harmful medication to the skin. Fraxel treatments or fractional surgery is another kind of treatment which is much less aggressive destroying only certain infected areas of the skin and leaving the healthy skin intact.

These 3 types of treatment have the same concept and one contributing factor which is LASER, an acronym that stands for Light Amplification by Stimulated Emission of Radiation. This light penetrates deeply to the skin to unclog the pores which also kill bacteria causing scars and other glands that produces sebum. happinesslifetime.com Acne laser surgery is usually done of face and upper body. It may sometimes cause discomfort to others but generally none at all. This treatments goes well with most patient, however, patients suffering from chronic diseases and other infection should opt for other treatments.

The main target of happinesslifetime.com acne laser surgery is Propiobacterium Acne which is harmful bacteria that causes scars and inflammation. These bacteria are being suppressed by applying special solution on the skin together with a photosensitive cream that is applied on the infected area and exposing it to a laser light which then form a photodynamic therapy that kills bacteria and prevent it from recurring. Though this method is most accepted, it also has side effects like discoloration of skin and uneven skin tone. Also, the price of this treatment is way beyond the normal treatment. Laser Hair Removal - How Does it Work?

The process works because of its ability to target the melanin pigment in our skin. The melanin role is to absorb the sun rays, protecting our skin and body. The melanin pigment exists in our hair as well, although in various levels, more in dark hair and less in light color hair. Its ability to absorb light makes it an excellent target for laser energy and it is why it works.

It is a Photoepilation process which destroys the hair follicle using controlled flashes of a very powerful light. The melanin absorbs the light and the extreme heat destroys it. In order to avoid damage to surrounding tissue, the photoepilation beam need to be absorbed by the hair and not by the nearby tissues.

Since the laser beam targets the melanin in an individual hair, the more melanin their is the more effective the hair removal will be. Therefore, someone with gray, red, or blond hair is not as good a candidate for process as one with darker hair.

The industry is growing drastically and there are many good reasons for it. The hair removal process has improve over the years and as technology continue to advance rapidly so do the results that are experienced by people that decide to get it.

If you thinking about getting it done, here are 3 benefits to it:

The results are permanent hair reduction

One of the main benefits is in most cases it is a one time process. in contrast to people that shave. a permanent hair reduction is a key benefit. As well many clinics offer 2 to 5 year guarantees that your hair will not grow again or you will get a refund.

The process now is less painful

Compare to the pain and suffering that is inflicted on those that use the hot wax to rip the hair out of the follicle, and of course I almost forgot the sheer torture of using the tweezers. The process is basically quite painless as the lasers are designed to target the hair follicle only and not the surrounding skin.

Saves you time and cost less in the long term

The machines cost much less then they used to, and the competition between clinics is intense, which translate to a healthy price reduction and incentives for consumers. As well cost can vary depending on the location and size of the hair to be removed. Time savings is really huge once its done, just think about it, more time to do fun things instead of shaving or waxing.

Laser Treatment to Quit Smoking - Does It Work?

There has been much talk about laser treatment to quit smoking in the press of late. The treatment has been reported about on national TV throughout the US and across Europe. Of course, with such incredible claims of success, the question everyone is asking is, does it work?

The basis for laser treatment to quit smoking is the same concepts used within acupuncture, the ancient Chinese approach to healing. Acupuncture is an art form that uses micro needles, about the width of a human hair, to stimulate 'energy points' around the body.

The needles are so fine that they are virtually unnoticeable when inserted into the skin, but this use of needles puts many people off acupuncture. Laser treatment offers an alternative to this ancient method.

Laser treatment to quit smoking is pretty much an identical process to quit smoking as the acupuncture version that uses needles to stimulate the body's energy centres. Instead of using needles though, laser treatment uses light in order to stimulate the necessary energy centres around the body.

By using laser therapy to quit smoking, people who are squeamish of needles or who have a phobia to them, can overcome the fear and try to have their energy centres stimulated.

But coming back to the original question, does laser treatment to quit smoking actually work; we must first ask if acupuncture works. After all, laser treatment is a modern day version of the ancient art of acupuncture on which it is based.

Clinical studies comparing acupuncture against other methods has found that in the medium to long term there is no evidence to suggest acupuncture benefits people wanting to quit smoking.

On an anecdotal basis of course, there are people who have successfully quit smoking after having laser treatment or acupuncture. However, from a statistical point of view, the evidence suggests that acupuncture treatments are unsuccessful.

Laser treatment to quit smoking has had very little clinical research done on its effectiveness but as it is based on acupuncture it should be safe to conclude that it is no better than trying to quit smoking cold turkey.

Silk'n Laser Hair Removal System

There are few better options for optimal laser hair removal at home than the Silk'n laser hair remover. The Silk'n laser hair remover is unique because it features HPL (Home Pulsed Light) which is a specially-formatted combination of laser technology and an acoustic pulse. Silk'n laser hair removal is essentially pain-free, no larger than your current electric shaver, and yields results that last for quite a while. People spend hundreds of hours per year shaving, waxing, and using other time-consuming methods to get rid of unsightly or unwanted body hair. What do you think you could be doing with those hours instead? If you opt to use one of these systems, then you will regain control of your hours and use them however you wish.

How Does a Silk'n Remove Unsightly or Unwanted Hair?

This little toy is truly amazing. This is how it works:

As soon as you press the tip to the target area, small pulses of powerful light enter your skin.
The light is absorbed by melanin, the pigment most commonly found in hair molecules. Dark hair molecules have a particularly strong concentration of these.
The light is then converted into heat, which then deactivates the follicle and prevents the hair from growing back
What are Perks of Using Silk'n?

The plusses are nearly endless for using a Silk'n for home laser hair removal. Using this device, it is possible to eliminate hair growth for well over a year by up to 90% or more. It may seem too easy to use one of these devices at home, but these are the exact type of results that you can expect from a professional outpatient service. Also, visits to a professional clinical practice can be priced at well over $3000 for just a single area of your body. The Silk'n laser hair removal system costs a single investment of $800, and you can reuse the technology as often as you like, for repeat treatments, touch-ups, and continual hair-removal maintenance.

Some other key perks are safety, painlessness, and convenience. This system has been tested and retested for over fifteen years, and is commonly used by aesthetic practitioners, so you can rest assured that the product is safe. The process is practically pain-free: there's only a minor high-temperature sensation associated with the treatments, and you may experience some temporary irritation. If you feel the system is too hot, there are five energy settings, so you can customize your experience. You won't need to clear time in your busy schedule for doctor's appointments and long trips to clinics. Simply use the system in the comfort of your own home. This also means that you do not need to have a professional invade your privacy if you desire hair to be removed from sensitive areas.

What are the limitations?

The Silk'n is optimized for people with darkly-pigmented hair and skin with little to no pigmentation. There are a few circumstances where use of the Silk'n laser hair removal system is not recommended. You should not use the device on your face. If you need to remove unwanted hair in this area via laser treatments, it is recommended that you see a professional.

The lasers are extremely effective on darker hair, but cannot have much effect on lighter-colored hair due to the lack of necessary pigments. You will not get acceptable or worthwhile results if you have grey, blonde, or white hair. Also, the inverse also applies. If you have darker skin, then the pigments in your skin can heat up just as easily as the pigments in your hair, and can burn you.

Silk'n Devices are Easy to Find

The world of laser hair removal at home is always changing and evolving. The Silk'n laser hair remover, using Home Pulsed Light, is a very effective solution for semi-permanent hair removal. They are available off of the manufacturer's website or from qualified aesthetic physicians.
