Epila SI-808 Personal Laser Diode Hair Remover System

Laser Hair Removal is a type of hair removal that helps you to remove unwanted hairs in different parts of your body. Compared to other types of hair remover, this method of removing hair from your skin is less painful and it is not messy. In fact, it is less painful than waxing.

The Epila Personal laser Diode hair Remover System is a laser hair remover designed for convenient home use. Its quiet bigger than the usual electric razor, however it is much more effective. It is very easy to use, just on the power of the device and places it to the area that you desired to remove hair. As you are using it over the skin, there's a light that produces energy that is absorbed by the melanin pigment, which results to the heating of hair follicle. By overheating, it will destroy the hair follicle which is responsible for hair growth.

Epila uses a diode laser that is why it has a longer wavelength unlike other lasers being used. For this reason, it will work more on darker and more pigmented skin types. In one session treating, the entire leg should only take less than an hour, and it should be painless. However, if you feel discomfort, you can change the settings for your comfort. The area treated would be sensitive that is why it's much better if you wear protective clothing and sun block when going outside. Limit also your sun exposure 1 to 2 days after the treatment. Slight swelling and redness on the skin is normal, but these side effects will only last a day. You can make an intervention applying ice pack on the skin.

To determine if this hair removal system is suited for you, consult your doctor, before purchasing it. The doctor will review your health history, so that he will know what is best for you. The type of laser that you will use depends on the type on the skin of the person. Keep reminded also about the contraindication before you are going to use.

It is better to research the product before purchasing it. By this mean, you will go to find out what is right for you. In addition, you should consider not only the positive feedbacks and findings on the homepage but also the negative feedbacks of the users. In this case, you will know what the benefits of Epila hair Removal System are.

If you have already decided that Epila laser hair removal system is right for you, then it is better to check the prices if it is really reasonable. Though it will be expensive as it is a home diode laser, however, it will most likely be something you'll never have to buy another. The Epila System works effectively with a pre cooling gel, though it doesn't require it. Make certain that you follow all the instruction before and after using the Epila Hair Removing System, to have a better result.

Laser Hair Removal For Men - Women Aren't the Only Ones With Unwanted Hair!

Men are as apt to be bothered by unwanted hair growth as women are. Given a choice to be seen as a well informed man who cares enough about his image to rid himself of unwanted hair, and a hairy-backed protégée, most men choose to seek out ways to become as smoothly hair free as their female partners. When a male client asks his dermatologist, and/or his medical physician about the procedures for laser hair removal, he should also take in consideration all treatments are available to him in the same capacity as they are available to women.

Web med health news states that these thirty minute treatments can cost between $400 and $500 dollars per session. These treatments are known to take anywhere from five to seven sessions. Male clients should also be aware that they will be coming back to their dermatologist to have touch-ups, either annually or biannually. A leading men's health news states that more male clients are coming into medical hair removal specialist offices for laser hair removal treatments in the thinning of their hair instead of the total removal of the hair from the area. The areas that are most targeted and pointed out by these male clients include areas found around the upper arms, in the chest area, and of course in the back regions.

Male clients should be aware when they sit down for their first hair removal consultation that laser hair removal will work much better on darker hairs and lighter skin tones. However, this laser procedure will not as readily work on white or blond hair. Darker skin tones respond well with a laser treatment known as ND Yag, and its use is also effectively use in other various medical treatments, other than laser hair removal treatments.

Dermatologist will often direct their clients with the use of an antibacterial lotion for several days after the initial treatments. These antibacterial lotions will help to soothe skin irritations that are known to be consistent with the minimum invasive cosmetic procedure done at a dermatologist's office.

When a well informed male client knows how and why laser hair removal can become a viable option to them, their homework on the subject is not entirely finished yet. The side effects should be talked about with their specialist and a check list of these symptoms will have to be closely monitored and reported back to the dermatologist by the next in office visit.

Personal Anti-Aging Skin Laser Smooths Out Wrinkles While You Watch TV

Until now, anti-ageing low level laser light therapy has only been available in beauty salons and private cosmetic clinics at great expense, but now the personal cosmetic skin laser, using patented, advanced, multi-wavelength laser technology, gives you the same great skin rejuvenation treatment at home while you are watching football on TV or reading a magazine.

You will benefit from treatment with a cosmetic skin laser if you have fine lines, wrinkles and crows feet, frown lines or smoker's lines or even if your skin is losing its resilience and getting a bit saggy.

What is low level laser light therapy? Low level laser light therapy was first discovered as a healing tool back in the 1960s and is widely used around the world to treat and cure a number of conditions including promoting healing in wounds or injuries and problematic skin conditions. It is beneficial in repairing damaged cells and speeds up and enhances the response of the body's immune system as well as aiding pain relief.

Low level laser light therapy is completely pain free. In fact, you probably won't feel a thing. It helps you get healthier, rejuvenated skin by promoting blood circulation and it works slowly and naturally.

What is a cosmetic skin laser? It is the World's first multi-wavelength personal laser for low level laser light treatment wherever you want to use it. It offers a safe and effective solution for smoothing fine lines and wrinkles and firming the skin. It is particularly adept in dealing with the early signs of aging, including crow's feet, frown lines and smokers' lines.

How does it work? When the cosmetic skin laser is placed on the skin, each wavelength penetrates and heals at different levels in the skin tissue, promoting collagen synthesis. Collagen is largely responsible for skin strength and elasticity, strengthens blood vessels and plays a role in tissue development. It is the degradation of collagen in the skin as you age which leads to the formation of lines and wrinkles. Collagen also helps prevent the formation of scar tissue.

Each cosmetic skin laser uses 12 lasers at 4 different wavelengths, (670nm, 780nm, 830nm, 910nm), to promote collagen production and healthy, radiant skin with maximum effect. (Other cosmetic lasers are single wavelength and only treat one level of the skin tissue.)

Regular treatment with a cosmetic skin laser naturally stimulates collagen synthesis which strengthens blood vessels and promotes skin resilience and elasticity. Just 10 minutes use, twice a day, will reduce fine lines and wrinkles within 4 - 6 weeks and with regular, daily treatment the skin will continue to improve and regain it's youthful health and vitality, becoming tight, firm and elastic.

Best of all, you won't need any other anti-aging treatments: no cosmetic surgery, no Botox, no hugely expensive moisturisers and anti-aging creams so you will save money in the long term.

Is it easy to use? A cosmetic skin laser is hardly bigger than your mobile phone and as easy to pop into your handbag or pocket to use whenever and wherever you have a few minutes to spare. You just charge it up like your mobile, switch on the lasers and move it slowly over your clean, dry skin for 10 minutes (longer, if you wish), whenever you have time.

Is it safe? The cosmetic skin laser has FDA (Korea) approval, CE approval, ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and ISO 13485. It has been designed to the highest international safety and quality standards.

Laser hair removal is considered to be expensive but a very effective way of hair removal. Removal of hair beneath the skin is also known as laser performed epilation and was experimentally done from 1970's. Laser hair removal came into the market in 1990's.

Laser based methods of hair removal are known as phototricholysis or photoepilation. A xenon flash lamp gives out intense pulsed light which is used to damage the hair follicle thereby preventing growth of hair. But the process is not entirely a laser treatment. Selective photothermolysis is the main idea behind laser hair removal. Laser hair removal is considered to be less painful than electrolysis and hence it has been preferred over electrolysis. The Truth About Cosmetic Laser Surgery

If you're interested in anti-aging technology, you've probably heard of cosmetic laser surgery. Laser surgery can be used to diminish the appearance of wrinkles, blemishes, scars, and stretch marks but there is always some kind of price to pay, and I'm not talking just about money. Sure, laser surgery is prohibitively expensive for many people but its potential side effects are far more frightening than its hefty price tag.

Most likely, you will have to go in for a series of laser skin care treatment and the frequency will depend on the particular treatment you are seeking. It will cost you at least hundreds but most likely thousands of dollars for the complete treatment. Once the effects wear off, you will have to go back in and start all over.

Cosmetic laser surgery works for some people but it doesn't for many others. It's really hard to say if you will get results from laser surgery until you try it. However for many people the side effects that it can cause are reasons enough to keep from giving it a go.

Many problems and complications can occur when you get laser skin care treatments. Some of them include burning, scarring, infection, pigmentation irregularities, skin surface irregularities, and textural changes. Often this damage is irreversible so it's something you should marinate on before deciding to seek laser surgery.

Many people are turning to alternative treatments to cosmetic laser surgery. Because of all the recent developments in science and skin care research, it's actually possible to get the same, dramatic results by using skin care products that contain a select few ingredients.

The leading causes of aging skin are the loss of collagen and elastin, the loss of hyaluronic acid, and the damage caused by free radicals. The ingredients Cynergy TK, Phytessence Wakame, and Nano-Lipobelle H EQ10 are proven to get to the root of these causes.

The result of using products that contain these ingredients is a dramatic reduction of wrinkles, blemishes, and age spots as well as an incredible improvement of the skin's firmness, elasticity, smoothness, and tone. These ingredients will give you the same results as laser skin care treatment without any risk of side effects because they are all natural.

Ingredients like active manuka honey, grapeseed oil, and Natural Vitamin E are also very effective in reducing stretch marks, wrinkles, blemishes, and age spots. They are also 100% natural and safe yet give results like numerous cosmetic laser surgery sessions would for some people.

Your next step? Take this information and use it as a guide to help you weigh your options. Cosmetic laser surgery is a personal choice but when you weigh the pros and cons, it's easy to see that it is not a very good option. If you use all natural skin care products that contain these breakthrough ingredients, you can get the same kind of results at no risk and at a much lower cost.

Minimizing The Effects Of Laser Hair Removal On The Skin

The benefits of laser hair removal as an effective way to relieve people of the embarrassment of unsightly body hair have been well publicized. Thousands of people have already undergone the procedure, and thousands more are investigating it as a way to remove unwanted body hair.

Lasers are designed to target the cells of the hair follicles without causing harm to any nearby tissues. Short pulse lasers will heat the target cells less than long pulse ones, and are less likely to cause thermally-induced skin scarring, one of the possible effects of laser hair removal on the skin. There are also lasers controlled by automatic scanning which limit the range of the pulses to the correct areas.

The aim is to destroy the target cells while avoiding harm to the surrounding tissue. Short pulses reduce the amount that the damaged cells heat up, thereby reducing thermal injury that could result in scarring. Automated scanners aim to reduce the chance of overlapping treatment areas.

Possible Effects

But those considering laser hair removal should also educate themselves on the effect of laser hair removal on the skin. Knowing about the effects of laser hair removal on the skin will help you to decide if the procedure is right for you. And one of the most significant effects of laser hair removal on the skin is that of hyperpigmentation.

Laser hair removal can cause a temporary increase in skin-darkening pigments, especially in those who have naturally dark complexions or tan frequently. But the darkening can be lightened easily with skin bleaching products.

Another of the temporary effects of laser hair removal on the skin, which again occurs in those with dark complexions, is hypopigmentation, or lightening. Hypopigmentation results because of the higher laser exposure used to treat those with dark skin.

If a laser hair removal patient is overexposed to the laser during treatment, he or she may experience skin reddening; the degree of overexposure and thermal damage will determine the length of time the reddening lasts. But reddening rarely occurs, because of the cooling devices now available, and the proper exposure time training of laser hair removal specialists.

One of the more serious effects of laser hair removal [bestlaserhairremovaltreatment.com/Information_On_Laser_Hair_Removal/] on the skin is blistering. Blistering most often occurs in patients with the darker skin which demands higher laser exposure. To prevent blistering these patients should have their treated skin tissues cooled with a contact chill tip. Blistering, thanks to various new cooling techniques, is almost non-existent.

A less frequent effect of laser hair removal on the skin is the crusting caused by ruby or alexandrite lasers, which operate with long pulses which can cause overexposure. But all the effects of laser hair removal on the skin occur infrequently, and when done by properly trained specialists with proper equipment, it is a safe and successful method for ridding people of unsightly hair.

The Benefits Of Erbium Laser Resurfacing

Erbium laser resurfacing is a non-ablative technique designed to remove light or moderately deep facial line with minimal side effects and faster recovery time. As compare with CO2 laser resurfacing, erbium laser causes minimal burning of surrounding skin tissue and therefore suitable for treatment on the face, hands, chest or neck areas.

Earlier, the CO2 laser techniques acted on the entire skin area and this resulted in a longer recovery time. Besides, CO2 lasers also damaged the pigment cells in the skin, which caused the skin to lose its colour and looked different after the treatment. On top of that, this procedure required at least two weeks for the skin to heal fully.

With erbium laser resurfacing, a small and specific skin area is targeted with the laser that vaporizes damaged skin cells, resulting in an increased of collagen production. Depending on the patient's needs, the procedure lasts from 15 minutes to an hour and is performed in an outpatient facility. To minimize any pain or discomfort, local anesthetic may also be used.

After the treatment, a bandage may be used to protect the treated skin area. This will be replaced by the dermatologist when you go back for follow-up appointments.

Patients who have already undergo the treatment claims that their skin complexion is greatly improved with smoother and younger-looking skin. This is due to the fact that erbium laser is effective in stimulating the skin's collagen production which is the main element in smoothing out and tightening of the skin.

Good candidates of erbium laser resurfacing include African-Americans, Asians and Latinos who has the least chance of getting prolonged skin redness and uneven pigmentation.

The wavelength of the erbium lasers used falls within 1450 and 1540 nanometers (One nanometer is equal to one millionth of a meter) and do not break the skin. Though this technique is introduced about three to four years ago, it has since very popular earlier and are non-ablative in nature.

Non-ablative lasers are not invasive and do not break the skin and therefore shorten the recovery period. However, since non-ablative treatments are milder and gentler, patients might need around 4 sessions scheduled about 4 to 6 weeks apart for better results.

Generally, the recuperation period is between 7 to 10 days and applying make-up is possible after the first week. Also, patient's is advised to use a sunblock to prevent skin damages. Upon the recovery period, the skin will be pinkish in colour but will fade back to original skin colour gradually, with a smoother and younger appearance.

Before you commit to microdermaskincare.com/erbium-laser.html erbium laser treatment, you should consult a professional dermatologist in your area for a consultation. Based on your skin care needs or conditions, the dermatologist will determine if microdermaskincare.com/laser-facial-resurfacing.html laser facial resurfacing is suitable for you.

Mole Removal Using Laser Surgery

Mole removal by laser surgery is one of the most expensive mole removal procedures, this is far outweighed by the benefits of the procedure as laser mole removal produces the least amount of scarring. This surgical procedure works best on moles that are black or brown in colour and preferably flat as the laser does not penetrate deep enough into the epidermis in order to remove protruding moles.

In areas where excision may not be an option such as the face, laser therapy can work very well. Due to the fact the pain felt through laser surgery is so minimal most patients do not require any local anesthetic. The most that is reportedly felt is a slight tingling sensation similar to the feeling of being snapped by a rubber band. The laser is normally a hand-held device that works by using a specific wavelength that destroys the mole pigment while avoiding healthy skin; it seals the blood vessels surrounding the mole and vaporizes the skin tissue. The procedure can last up to 30 minutes and you will be treated on an outpatient basis.

After the procedure a scab will form over the area where the mole was, this will not last and will normally drop off once it has healed after a couple of weeks. The benefits of mole removal laser surgery are that no stitching is required as the skin is essentially cauterised by the procedure. This procedure also has a high rate of success with reduced chances of repeat treatment being required.

Mole removal by laser surgery does have many advantages, however there are many other alternatives that can also be tried such as natural and over the counter remedies. In the end it all boils down to what is best for the patient.

Acne Scar Laser Treatment - You Must Not Leave Any Loop Hole

If you are here to read this article, it shows that you are looking for some treatment about acne scars. Before you proceed further I would like to ask you few questions:

What is your main consideration about scars and their removal?
Why are you hesitating to visit the dermatologist?
Is cost the biggest hindrance involved in happinesslifetime.com acne laser treatment?
Is it something else which hinders you to get rid of scars?

If any of the above is your concern then you must proceed.

The costs involved in acne scar laser treatments depend upon degree of scars and type of the skin. An average patient has to go through a treatment termed "Fraxel" in consecutive 3 months. The treatment is then repeated after 6 months of last laser treatment.

55% to 70 % improvement can be noticed in around 90 % patients after 3 months treatment. Side effects of acne scar laser treatment involve swelling and redness of the treated area. There aren't any scarring, wounds or discoloration caused because of laser.

The intensity and the size of the scars determine the cost of the treatment. Larger affected area needs more treatments and time; as the result the cost also increases.

A rough estimate says that for the treatment of minor scars of acne the person must be prepared to pay US $ 700 ~ US $ 1500. Severe scar treatment may require around US $ 3500 ~ US $ 5500. The geographic location and credentials of dermatologists also influence the cost.

Advanced Laser Treatments Can Successfully Prevent Acne Scars

Do you know the name of skin condition affecting almost 80% of the total population, which has various types, results in serious emotional distress, and is comprised of four letters? If you guessed the skin condition was acne, then you are absolutely correct. Although the causes of acne are quite difficult to treat, currently dermatologists are employing advancements in laser technology in order to stop and prevent acne scarring that occurs from severe acne outbreaks.

At the 62nd Annual Meeting of the American Academy of Dermatology, researchers and medical practitioners presented new dermatological techniques currently being used against acne, including non-abrasive laser therapy.

The most frequently diagnosed skin condition in the US is not surprisingly acne, and as it can cause serious emotional distress to a person, this only fuels patients turning to dermatologists all over the country. Although studies have actually indicated that acne is not caused by lifestyle factors, such as stress or diet, patients continue blaming themselves for their acne problem. Instead, acne is actually caused by factors like excessive oil production, bacteria, and hormones.

Dr. Alster, a leading medical practitioner stated that his patients are sometimes confused as they hear conflicted advice. Then they spend a lot of money on over the counter medications, most of which do not work. By the time he sees them in his office, they are upset and disappointed.

Acne occurs on regions of skin that have a large number of sebaceous follicles, responsible for oil production, that are actually over producing. These areas include the face, neck, shoulders, chest, and upper back regions. These follicles, unfortunately, clog due to the over production of oil, and whiteheads and blackheads occur from the sebaceous follicles. Furthermore, once a blackhead or whitehead bursts, the infected substance contained within the follicle ooze out onto the surrounding skin. If an infection develops, it eventually creates the commonly-known zit. In some instances, if the zit becomes significantly infected, it evolves into a cyst. Eventually, if not treated, these cysts will heal over and create an acne scar once the outbreak has cleared up.

Traditionally, both oral and topical medications were uses to fight acne outbreaks, but sadly, the results were varied and not always successful. However, dermatologist can now add non-ablative laser technology to their list of tools used to combat acne, and more importantly, prevent acne scarring.

The major benefit to using non-ablative laser therapy is the capability of erasing acne while not causing damage to the epidermal skin layer, as compared to their ablative predecessors. The non-ablative laser technology actually works by affecting the sebaceous glands. The laser produces a powerful light wavelength that is absorbed by the skin and the water present in the skin. This then creates increased levels of heat at the sebaceous glands. Using the laser to produce minor damages to the sebaceous gland, the treatment actually affects the glands, reducing its ability to produce oil, thereby lessening the chances of an acne breakout.

The non-ablative laser therapy sessions take on average somewhere between 5 and 20 minutes to administer. Prior to treatment, a topical anesthetic will be applied to the treatment area - the only sensation the patient will feel is a slight stinging that last momentary. Afterward, the patient will be given an ice application to dull the remaining pain. In order to effectively remove the acne scarring, a patient will require between three to five monthly treatments.

Improved appearance will occur after just a few treatments, and a full series will give the patient clear skin for upwards of half a year. Laser therapy side effects are typically mild, do not hinder any activity, and should last only a few days. Side effects include mild irritation and possible swelling.

Non-ablative laser therapy can effectively be used to remove acne scarring that occurred years ago. Although acne scars are not a health risk, they can cause psychological stress and damage, especially as these scars can be near impossible to treat. In the past, techniques such as fillers, surgery, and dermabrasion were the tools dermatologists used to combat acne scarring, with the results often less than successful.

However, in recent years, advancements in laser technology have pushed laser therapy to the forefront. Originally, ablative type lasers were used to remove the very most upper layers of the epidermis. Fortunately, non-ablative laser treatments have become more common place, mostly due to their capability to stimulate collagen production, and avoid any visible damages in the process.

Nevertheless, we advise patients to only use certified dermatologists that have trained with laser therapy and can show experience. If in doubt, inquire about the doctor's medical practice history and qualifications.

Originally establishes in 1938, The American Academy of Dermatology is perhaps the most prominent and well-known dermatological groups. Boasting more than 14,000 dermatologists the globe, the association advocates: - Promoting the improvement of diagnosis and surgical, cosmetic, and medical treatment for the nails, hair, and skin. - Supporting higher principles for education, medical practice, and research advancements. - Improving and encouraging superior patient care for healthier skin.

How Long Does Laser Skin Resurfacing Take?

Laser skin resurfacing is a specialized technique, which can be done on an outpatient basis. If only a small part of the skin on the face has to be resurfaced then it may take just about half an hour. This is if only wrinkles around the eyes, or wrinkles around the mouth or some specific area has to be treated. If the whole face has to be treated it may take about an hour and a half. Older people may need resurfacing on the whole face while the younger ones may want just some areas to be resurfaced.

First and foremost an experienced doctor has to be found. He should have performed several such cases before and he should be asked to show the before and after pictures of the treatment. If the patient is fully satisfied then they can go ahead. The doctor should fully explain the whole procedure to the patient so that he or she is fully aware of what is going to happen. The patient should ask questions and fully satisfy herself.

The treatment needs local anesthesia, which can be combined with an intravenous drip if the doctor feels that this is needed. The laser resurfacing skin treatment can be done if face lifts or other methods have not shown proper results. The laser acts by treating each layer of the skin.

After the treatment, the doctor will cover the wound with sterile gauze. This can be changed often. The face can be washed three or four times a day if the doctor permits. The face has to be kept moist with mild vinegar solution or saline. Scabs may be formed a few days after the treatment. The old skin will peel off and fresh new skin will be formed. This new skin may be pink or reddish in color, the color being more prominent if the patient is a blonde or a redhead.

After a few days this skin can be camouflaged by make up. The skin should not be exposed to direct sunlight after the treatment for a few days. Sunscreen lotions should be used to protect the skin. The patient feels as if she has a bad case of sunstroke on her face. This will slowly die down after a few days. This treatment is not suitable for stretch marks. Nor should it be done if the patient has active acne or if the color of the skin is very dark.

Combined Fractional Laser Skin Resurfacing - New Cosmetic Laser Treatment For Wrinkle Removal

All of us over 30 begin to see distressing signs of facial aging and sun damaged skin. Sun worshippers and smokers see these skin aging changes sooner. Fractional laser skin resurfacing, a non-surgical anti-aging skin rejuvenation method was introduced several years ago as an improved method for wrinkle removal and facial skin rejuvenation.

Fractional laser skin resurfacing was developed to eliminate many of the problems associated with traditional old time laser skin resurfacing. Traditional laser skin resurfacing was very effective at wrinkle removal, but recovery was long and difficult and the skin often turned white, called hypo pigmentation, 6 months after treatment. Fractional laser skin resurfacing was developed to remove wrinkles and rejuvenate the skin with minimal downtime, quick recovery and normal skin color and texture after the skin rejuvenation procedure.

Recently, a new technique called combined fractional laser skin resurfacing has been developed to improve wrinkle removal and skin rejuvenation results. This new technique provides much better wrinkle removal and skin rejuvenation, but also plumps and improves the texture of aging skin much better than previous techniques.

How Does Fractional Laser Skin Resurfacing Remove Wrinkles and Rejuvenate the Skin?

The basic cause of skin wrinkles and skin aging changes is loss of collagen in the skin. Collagen in the deep layer of our skin provides moisture, nutritional support, skin plumping and elasticity which is the firmness and skin tightening component of our skin.

As we age, exposure to years of ultraviolet (UV) radiation from sunlight, toxins in our diet and environment, and unhealthy lifestyles such as smoking and tanning all contribute to the destruction of collagen in our skin. When collagen is lost, our skin looses texture, elasticity and fullness, and wrinkles and sagging skin result. For an analogy, think of a plump juicy plum with smooth skin. Place the plum into the sun for a period of time, water (like collagen in the skin) is lost and the plum turns into a wrinkled prune.

In an effort to protect itself, our skin surface responds to these aging changes by producing pigment to block the UV sunlight, and our skin thickens with extra layers of dry old looking skin.

All cosmetic laser skin rejuvenation methods attempt to restore skin to a youthful state by stimulating the skin to grow new collagen to replace lost skin collagen to plump and tighten loose skin.  In addition, many cosmetic laser skin rejuvenation methods strip away the damaged surface skin cells to remove pigment and dead thickened skin and stimulate new healthy looking skin cells to grow.

Fractional laser skin resurfacing is a skin rejuvenation technique which removes dead surface skin cells and pigment and stimulates the deep layer of the skin, the dermis to produce new collagen to replace the collagen that has been lost by facial aging changes. In summary:

Skin aging is results in:

Loss of collagen in the skin=wrinkles and loose skin
Skin surface changes=dry, pigmented, course skin

All cosmetic laser skin resurfacing methods rejuvenate skin by:

Removing aged skin surface cells and promoting new skin cell growth
Promoting new deep skin collagen to plump wrinkles and tighten skin

Why is Fractional Laser Skin Resurfacing Better?

Older CO2 laser resurfacing, called flat beam laser resurfacing produced excellent wrinkle removal and skin tightening, but recovery was very difficult, requiring weeks for the skin to heal. In addition, traditional laser skin resurfacing damaged pigment cells in the skin which caused the skin to turn white. These problems were caused by the fact that the older lasers treated the entire surface of the facial skin, thus healing required new skin cells to be produced by hair follicles and sweat glands in the skin. This was a very slow process requiring up to two weeks for new skin cells to cover the surface of the face.

New fractional laser skin resurfacing is effective but much safer than traditional CO2 resurfacing. The fractional laser resurfacing beam is broken up into many small beams so that the laser affects only small focused areas of the skin. Fractional laser resurfacing leaves skip areas on the skin that are left normal and undamaged. These untreated skin cells are able to rapidly heal the treated skin with new skin cells. The treated areas, called micro treatment zones are healed in 6 hours with the fractional Lux2940 Erbium laser on the Starlux laser. CO2 fractional lasers like the Fraxel Repair and Lumenis ActiveFX and DeepFX take a little longer, up to 48-72 hours.

Fractional lasers are also able to penetrate the skin into the dermis much deeper than flat beam techniques. Deeper penetration causes more effective new collagen production. This characteristic results in improved skin plumping and better skin texture.

Fractional laser skin resurfacing is better than old time flat beam laser resurfacing because skin healing is much quicker, and the risk of white skin, hypo pigmentation is much less.

The benefits of fractional laser skin resurfacing are:

Quicker skin healing
Deeper penetration for better collagen production
Less risk of hypo pigmentation
Improved skin texture
More gentle, quicker recovery
Improved wrinkle removal, pigment removal and skin tightening

What Is Non-ablative Fractional Laser Skin Resurfacing-Fraxel, Starlux Lux1540, Affirm

The first fractional lasers were introduced 3-4 years ago and are non-ablative 1450nm and 1540nm (nm=nanometers or one millionth of a meter, and are the units used to measure the wavelength of a particular laser) Erbium lasers. Non-ablative laser skin treatments go deep into the dermis of the skin to promote new collagen, but non-ablative lasers to not ablate or remove the surface skin cells.

Thus the non-ablative fractional skin resurfacing lasers remove wrinkles by building new collagen in the skin, but do not remove the surface aging changes of the skin.

The benefit on the non-ablative technique is that there is less recovery time for healing as the skin is not broken. You are pink after a treatment, but can wear makeup and no recovery time is required.

Because non-ablative treatments are weaker, you need 4 treatments scheduled 4-6 weeks apart for a good result.

I use the Starlux Lux1540 non-ablative laser; other models are the Fraxel and the Affirm. The best applications are acne scar removal, scar improvement, skin plumping, pigment removal and mild to moderate wrinkle removal

Because the skin surface is not ablated, wrinkle removal is less effective with the non-ablative lasers, thus new ablative fractional laser resurfacing technology has been developed in the past year and a half.

What Is Ablative Fractional Laser Resurfacing

For ablation, different laser wavelengths, the 2940nm Erbium laser and the CO2 laser are used. These laser wavelengths are more powerful and vaporize the skin cells on the surface as well as causing inflammation deep into the dermis.

Because surface skin cells are removed, the ablative fractional lasers are more effective at removing wrinkles, pigment, and old dead skin cells. The downside is that some recovery is required for skin healing, however the down time is much less, about a third of the time required recovering from old time flat beam laser skin treatments.

The other benefit is that ablative fractional laser skin resurfacing requires only one treatment, as opposed to the 4 treatments required for non-ablative techniques.

I use the Starlux lux2940 fractional ablative laser resurfacing method. The Starlux Lux2940 is an Erbium laser and heals faster than the fractional CO2 lasers, the Fraxel Repair, the ActiveFX and DeepFX ablative machines.

What is Combined Fractional Laser Skin Resurfacing and Why is It Better?

The newest and most effective cosmetic laser skin rejuvenation treatment I combined fractional laser skin resurfacing. After two years of research and over two hundred treatments, we have learned that combining the Starlux Lux1540 non ablative treatment with the Starlux lux2940 ablative treatment provides the most effective wrinkle removal and skin rejuvenation treatment.

The Starlux Lux1540 and Starlux Lux2940 are done in the same treatment session. The results in terms of wrinkle removal, skin plumping, improved skin texture, pigment removal and general skin rejuvenation are excellent and better than either treatment done alone.

This is a very new technique; I just presented our findings in Dallas, Texas at the Palomar Medical Advanced laser seminar on January 24, 2009. We have been working on this project for over two years.

How Is Combined Fractional Laser Skin Resurfacing Done?

The combined fractional laser skin resurfacing treatment is done in my office with a topical local anesthetic cream. Your face will be cleansed and a topical numbing cream applied. I also give you a tranquilizer and an analgesic to help you relax and be more comfortable during treatment.

The Starlux Lux1540 treatment is done first by my medical aesthetician and takes about 30 minutes. Numbing medicine is re-applied, and I or my plastic surgeon associate do the actual Starlux Lux2940 ablative treatment.

After your treatment we apply cold wet compresses to the skin. Then a soothing ointment will be placed on your skin, and you will go home. During the first 24 hours you will place soothing soaks on your skin and apply ointment every few hours.

By day 2 or 3 you will finish the soaks and only apply ointment as you need it.

You will be given analgesic tablets in case you need them and Valtrex to protect you from a Herpes Skin outbreak. We also give you prophylactic antibiotics to protect against skin infection during healing.

What Will I look Like After Treatment and How Long Is Recovery?

Your skin will be pink to red after treatment. The first 24 hours your skin will be moist and old skin cells will peel off and be removed by the soaks.

Your new skin will cover your face in 2 to 3 days, very different from the 2-3 weeks required for skin healing after the old time float beam laser treatments.

Your face will remain pink for 5-7 days, but you can wear make up by day 4. This is about a third or fourth of the recovery time from a deep chemical peel or an old time flat beam laser treatment.

When Do I See My Final Result?

You will see a remarkable improvement in wrinkles and skin texture with fresh new skin starting at 10 days and for the first 3 weeks. However, new collagen production, the main goal of this treatment does not begin for 6 weeks and continues for one year after treatment.

The initial benefits are due to swelling of the skin which subsides at about 3-4 weeks so expect to see your wrinkles return initially.

However at 3 months you will really start to see the improvement in your skin and at 6 months results are very dramatic.

In my experience, wrinkle removal, skin tightening and improvement in skin plumping and skin texture are most obvious at one year following treatment.

How Do I Find A Doctor Who Uses This Technique?

Board certified plastic surgeons and dermatologists are the experts at laser skin rejuvenation treatments. Ablative laser resurfacing is more commonly done by plastic surgeons because of the complexity of skin care after the procedure.

The new combined technique is so new that it will be some time before it is widely practiced.

Be certain that your physician is board certified and has experience in laser surgery-there are many new users of lasers who simply do not have the experience required for these advance laser treatments.

The Ultimate in Laser Hair Removal and Permanent Hair Removal

There is nothing worse than having embarrassing unwanted hair in places where you don't want it. The good news is that you no longer have to put up with this embarrassment any longer. You have a number of options to get rid of it once and for all. Most of us have tried creams, shaving and waxing but those methods are only temporary. Most people are in search of permanent hair removal so they no longer have to worry about it. One alternative that is gaining in popularity is laser hair removal. Technology and techniques are improving daily. Another option other than laser hair removal for a permanent solution is electrolysis.

There are a number of differences between laser hair removal and electrolysis you should be aware of. Current laser technology allows the technicians to tune the laser to your skin tone and type for best results. This is a proven and safe method of hair removal so it can be used on your face, back, legs, arms and bikini area. This method is quick and relatively painless because the laser is absorbed by the pilous follicle not your skin. The laser basically damages to follicle so that it will not produce more hair. Although it is very popular, it is not a permanent hair removal solution.

The only permanent hair removal method on the market today is electrolysis. Although you may need a number of treatments, eventually, the hair will stop growing altogether. What makes electrolysis so effective is that a thin needle is inserted into each individual hair follicle, one at a time. The needle should never penetrate your skin. This needle carries an electrical current to the follicle which damages it and stops the hair from growing back. It is also a safe and effective method of hair removal. Both electrolysis and laser hair removal procedures are not cheap. You will likely require multiple treatments to achieve desired results so keep this in mind when pricing it out.

Laser Hair Removal Vs Electrolysis Comparison

Among the several available methods of hair removal, there are two that had been gaining sustained interest and battling it out for consumer patronage: electrolysis and laser hair removal. Both have been proven to significantly cause permanent hair reduction for a period of time compared to other methods.

Comparing the two side by side, though they both tackle the hair follicle, the procedure for the two is entirely different. Electrolysis had been known to be an invasive technique that uses a needle penetrating deep into the skin to come in contact with the hair follicle. Meanwhile, laser hair removal simple works by penetrating the skin with laser light energy through a simple tool. Since the techniques employed by both are different, naturally they have different side effects to a patient. Electrolysis had been known to have caused electric shock since the current flows through the needle. happinesslifetime.com Laser removal though does not exhibit this adverse effect aside from sensitivity and irritation issues.

Pain had been another major issue to consumers choice. Of course, people would prefer the one that would initiate less pain. As happinesslifetime.com laser removal does not invade the skin directly, there would be no painful stimulus felt. Only a tingling sensation similar to a rubber band being snapped on the skin. On the other hand, electrolysis causes a painful stimulus with every removing hair because of the sensory nerve ending present that are being touched during the penetration process. Considerably, between the two, laser hair removal works better for those seeking a painless and effective treatment.

The last main consideration of most consumers entails the cost. Both procedures have the same computation based on several factors such as size of the area. Payment is usually charged per session. For each session, electrolysis had been noted to be cheaper but with the lengthy process, it entails longer sessions in greater number compared to laser hair removal. When total costs are added up, happinesslifetime.com laser removal actually turns out to be more cost effective.

A Radical Way to Clear Your Skin - Laser Acne Treatment

There are many ways of treating acne on the market today for the millions world-wide who suffer from it. Laser treatment is a very effective, albeit new way of treating this terrible skin condition. And while yes it is new technology, so many people have found it to be of great help to them in their lives.

While there are many treatments available for those who suffer from acne, everyone is different and therefore need different types of treatment. What works for one person may not work for you. Normal, over-the-counter medicine doesn't always work for everyone who tries it, which is why laser surgery is a good alternative if you are one of those people.

When the word "acne" comes to mind, people often think of teens or adolescents, but acne can affect anyone at any age, even newborns. It does not discriminate based on anything. Those people who have severe acne problems while younger will most likely have some degree of scarring when they grow up.

Before you undergo the procedure, you will obviously want to know what is involved. The laser will concentrate on where your outbreaks occur the most. What it does is it targets your glands and prohibits them from excreting oils. It is a very painless procedure and has the added bonus of no adverse side-effects. A majority of people that have opted for this procedure have seen immediate results.

Laser therapy can also remove acne scarring. What it does is it removes any layer of skin that is effected and essentially resurfaces it, mixing up the scar tissue with the normal surrounding tissue.

Despite the great things people say about some acne products, I have found that most acne treatments simply did not work for me.
But after years of struggling to get rid of my acne, I finally found something that was able to almost completely cure my acne in just a few weeks.

What is Laser Hair Removal

Laser hair removal is becoming more and more popular as the technology advances. We've all seen the billboards and ads suggesting that with a few short treatments you'll never have to shave again. But how does this process work and what are the long term effects?

This procedure actually works on a fairly simple concept. An intense beam of light is targeted to the melanin in dark hair. The absorbed heat then kills the hair at the root and shortly thereafter the hair is ejected from the follicle. Due to this process, the best candidates for laser hair removal are people with light skin and dark hair. Light colored hair, such as blond or gray, does not have enough melanin to absorb the laser and dark skin has too much melanin. The melanin in darker skin may absorb too much of the laser light and result in burns. Therefore, it is important to avoid any sunbathing for a few weeks before your treatment.

Hair grows in different phases, with different parts being dormant at different times. Due to this, not all of your hairs can be targeted in one treatment. On average people will need around 5-8 treatments to see the results they want. Some centers will charge a set amount per treatment while others will offer package rates for the treatment of a specific area.

Laser hair removal is classified by the FDA as permanent hair reduction. This means that you probably won't be completely hairless after treatment, but will instead see a severe reduction in the number of hairs present, frequently around 90%. When Laser Clinics Use the Term Permanent Hair Removal What Do They Really Mean?

Laser hair removal provides a permanent reduction in hair grow of up to 90%, give or take 10%. This means that nobody should expect laser hair removal to forever rid them of every single hair in the treatment area but they can be confident that it will remove the vast majority and any hairs that do grow back are usually lighter and finer and barely noticeable. Many factors effect how a person responds to the treatment, including age, skin and hair type, amount of hair, the laser used and existing medical conditions. This means that individual results can vary from person to person but average rates of removal can be taken at the above mentioned 90% mark. Although this does mean that we must recognise the chance of this 10% of hair that is not permanently removed. However, comparing this 10% to the cost in time, money and effort given to inefficient painful methods of hair removal such as waxing, plucking and shaving, even with this small contingency laser hair removal is still the best solution for long term removal of that unwanted hair. Put simply, laser hair removal offers as close to permanent results as is currently possible and is the most permanent option in today's market.

Growth cycles

Hair grows in cycles and has several different stages, optimal growth stage, resting, shedding and invisible stages. In order to be affected by the laser hair must be in the optimal growth stage. This is why laser hair treatments are spread out over several months in order to allow hair in other stages of the cycle to reach optimal growth and therefore able to be removed by laser. This method ensures hair currently growing but not visible are also treated and removed. However no guarantee can be made that 100% of hair in the target area will NEVER grow back. Ask your laser clinic for a more personal view of this situation as it does vary from person to person and taking into account individual circumstances will give you a more accurate understanding of the results you can expect to achieve. Again it varies from person to person depending on many factors but it is generally agreed that it will take at least 6 -8 sessions for patients to achieve the results they want.

Soprano XL

The Latest in laser hair removal technology is the revolutionary Soprano XL, which is the first and only system in the world to be certified by the FDA as pain free. Not only is this system pain free but, thanks to a combination of high peak power output and a rapid pulse diode, it is also the most efficient laser hair removal system on the market. Laser Hair Removal - Do's & Dont's

Many women having unwanted hair on parts of their body are dreaming of having reduced hair growth if not permanently removing those hairs. This is due to various reasons some of which are having little to no information on how it works or they don't personally know anyone who has tried and was successfully treated.

What is Laser Hair Removal?

Laser Hair Removal uses pulses of intense lamp light directed to the hair follicles. The light is then absorbed and converted to heat by these hair follicles. The heat helps in loosening the hair and disabling the cells that grows the hair. It is recommended to have 8 to 10 treatments to see the full effect of these laser hair removal systems.

Laser Hair Removal - How to Minimise Pain

Laser Hair Removal is a very popular option for many people who want to avoid the pain of waxing and want a more permanent solution to unwanted hair growth. But to some people, the thought of a laser aimed at their skin can be daunting and might have some reservations about it. One of the most common questions asked is how painful it is. This article has some laser hair removal information that will help you get a better understanding of what is involved and help you make the whole procedure more comfortable.

Laser Types

Different lasers are used depending on the skin and hair colour. They have evolved over the years to cause very little tissue damage and deliver better results. In a nutshell, they work by disabling the hair follicles and preventing the hair from growing back. It normally takes between 5 - 10 treatments to finish the whole process completely. People with darker skin tones tend to have more sensitive skin, so talking to your laser technician about what laser to use is a must. The long pulse ND: Yag laser works best on individuals with coarser hair or dark skin tones. It can be a bit painful.

The Alexandrite long pulse laser had become very popular, in part because it has a customisable range and could cover a large area quickly. It works best on individuals with light to olive coloured complexions. Depending on your pain threshold, the sensation can vary from uncomfortable to quite painful.

There are other hair removal lasers such as the Ruby and Argon lasers, but the newer technologies have largely rendered these obsolete.

The Soprano Diode laser is one of the newest lasers, and considered the industry's "gold standard." It is the most comfortable of all the lasers on the market. Because it uses a continuous motion, rather than the pulse method of other lasers, it heats the hair follicles gently and gradually, rather than "blasting" them. Hair removal with the Soprano is both effective and pleasant; two words you would never expect to see together when describing laser hair removal!

Patch Testing

Of course, you can also ask your laser technician to perform a quick patch test. This involves targeting a very small part of the area you wish to remove hair from and seeing if the procedure causes any reactions to your skin. You will also see what the process feels like and you can talk to your laser technician about how to make the actual procedure as comfortable as possible.

Numbing Cream

Numbing is also quite effective as well. Laser hair removal can be as uncomfortable as waxing to some people, albeit with a different sensation. You can ask your laser technician to use some numbing cream on the area before the procedure. This is a topical anaesthesia that only works on the surface of the skin but it has proven to be very effective in relieving some of the discomfort.

Cooling Tip

For very sensitive skin, the laser technician can use a cooling tip. This goes on the tip of the laser and reduces the heat the patient feels during the procedure, reducing pain. It also prevents any skin damage forming as a result.

These are the main ways you can make the whole process more relaxing on yourself and protect your skin from damage. For more laser hair removal information, talking to your laser technician in detail is recommended as she will work with you to get the best results possible. Any existing skin conditions should be discussed as well so the necessary steps taken to get the best results.

Laser Tattoo Removal Vs Tattoo Removal Creams

Removing a tattoo is very difficult no matter which removal method you choose. No method will work perfectly and every option will require a commitment of time, money, and dedication. This is because the tattoo will not be removed after one session or one application no matter what you hear and no matter what you read on the internet. In fact, the only way to remove a tattoo in one session is to have a doctor cut it out which is almost never done due to the pain, expense, and health risks involved.

The reality of tattoos is that they are meant to be hard to remove. If they weren't hard to remove, they would be called temporary tattoos. Based on my research, this means that there are essentially two options to remove an unwanted tattoo: laser treatments and creams/gels. You may have also read about using TCA to fade a tattoo, but everything I could find said that this method essentially involves burning away the skin often resulting in a substantial scar and sometimes a trip to the hospital. This is why happinesslifetime.com skin care providers recommend using TCA, which again is an acid, in the presence of a health care provider in case something goes wrong.

Laser Treatments vs. Topical Products

There are many substantial differences between these two removal options with price being the most noticeable difference. While the cost of laser treatments will vary depending on a variety of circumstances including the size and color of the tattoo as well as what city you live in. However, you can generally expect to pay a few thousand dollars to remove your tattoo via laser. Some tattoos cost upwards of $10,000 to remove.

On the other hand, using a tattoo removal cream or gel is far less expensive. However, this method is not 100% guaranteed and will take longer than using a laser.

If you do not have a few thousand dollars laying around and want to try a removal cream or gel, be sure that the product you choose contains safe ingredients and does not contain TCA.
