What Laser Skin Treatment Can Do For You

Laser skin treatment can improve the look and feel of your skin. This high-tech cosmetic procedure utilizes lasers and can have impressive results on a variety of facial blemishes or other conditions. Still, it is important to be realistic about what it can do for you.

The procedure is usually performed on the face and neck, although it can also be used on other problem areas showing signs of aging, like the arms or hands. Laser skin treatment, also called laser resurfacing, can smooth signs of aging like wrinkles and scars. It can also provide a more even complexion and reduce birthmarks, liver spots, and sun damage. These blemishes may make you self-conscious about the effect of aging on your face. Although cosmetic procedures can reduce these signs, they cannot stop the aging process altogether, and your appearance will continue to age afterwards.

If you are disappointed with how your appearance has aged over time, laser skin treatments can help to improve the appearance of your face, making it smoother and more evenly pigmented. A range of conditions, including broken capillaries, age spots, or sun damage, can be corrected with this method. Unlike many procedures offered as an alternative to lasers, this procedure can work on many different conditions, and can be used either as an allover treatment on the face or neck or targeted at problem areas.

However, it may not work on some conditions, particularly the deep wrinkles caused by the natural movement of your face. Still, it may be effective on fine lines and mild or moderate wrinkles. Do not expect laser skin care treatment to be able to remove every wrinkle and mark on your skin, but the procedure can make your skin visibly clearer. Laser treatment for skin is often undergone to provide a boost of self-confidence.

Although the exact effects of this method can vary greatly depending upon your individual situation, most patients see results after their first or second session. It takes just an hour or two to improve the overall appearance of your face in a fast, safe, and effective treatment.

The results depend on many factors, including the laser type used as well as the condition of your skin. To better understand what laser skin treatment can do for you, schedule a consultation visit with a doctor who can examine your skin and explain the realistic results you can expect to see with laser skin resurfacing.

Non Surgical Skin Tightening - What Are the Best Techniques? Find Out Once and For All

If you want to learn more about the available non surgical skin tightening methods you can use today then you are going to want to read this article.

I'm going to reveal three tightening methods that are currently the most used ways to firm up skin without using surgery.

These methods are Thermage, Laser lifts and collagen boosting skincare products.

My personal favorite method is using collagen boosting creams, however im also going to talk about the other two methods in case they may appeal more to you.

After reading this this article you'll have a broader choice of non surgical skin tightening techniques to choose from.

Ok let get started....

1. Collagen Boosting Skincare products - My favorite and arguably the safest way to tighten your skin is to use creams that contain natural skincare ingredients which stimulate production of the collagen protein in your body.

This protein is responsible for keeping skin firm and younger looking. The more collagen you have in your body, the tighter your skin will be.

This is a proven fact!

Therefore any product that contains ingredients like Cynergy Tk, Active manuka honey and Avocado oil, all of which stimulate collagen production, will naturally tighten your skin.

2. Thermage is a relatively new non surgical skin tightening method. It involves the use of heat and radio frequency to stimulate collagen production.

However, unlike the skincare products that use natural ingredients, Thermage is not entirely natural; and this is the main reason why i prefer using organic skincare products.

3. Laser lifts make use of laser light to stimulate collagen. Some of the disadvantage of this method is that its not entirely natural and has side effects which include swelling and redness.

Each of the above non abc-skin-and-health.info surgical skin tightening methods are effective, however not all are perfect. Some have side effects that you might be able to handle.

At the end of the end its entirely up to you to choose the method that you are most comfortable with.

Laser Scar Removal Technologies

There are several different lasers employed for happinesslifetime.com laser scar removal. These are continually being developed; the lasers today are more precise and offer a much shorter recovery time than those used a decade ago.

The technology most commonly used involves the vaporization of the top layers of the skin, resulting in a smoother appearance. Other happinesslifetime.com laser scar removal types encourage the growth of collagen underneath scars, so that indented scars become filled from below.

Today's lasers come in different wavelengths, which affects how deeply they penetrate the skin. Because of this, they vary in the types of scars on which they are most effective. Here are the most commonly used lasers used for scar removal:

CO2 lasers are the oldest type used for removing scars. They are most often used on acne scarring, which they remove by vaporizing one layer of the skin at a time until the scar is flat against the rest of the skin, making the skin smooth.
Erbium, another older type of laser, is also used to treat acne scars, specifically those that are textured. The Erbium laser is designed to resurface the skin by removing the outermost layers. This type of laser boasts a lower rate of complications than other types, and can be used on varying skin types.
The Er:YAG laser system treats the edges of scars, as well as mild to moderate acne scarring. It causes less damage than other types of lasers, and is considered more effective than CO2 lasers. It is also more effective on people with medium skin tones; other lasers are best used only on people with pale skin tones. Healing time and swelling are both reduced after undergoing happinesslifetime.com laser scar removal with the Er:YAG laser system.
The Pulse Dye Laser (PDL) system is a shorter 585nm wavelength laser used to treat both hypertrophic and keloid scars. It is effective at reducing the redness of scars because it is attracted to the hemoglobin in blood. The PDL system as also been used in the treatment of stretch marks.
The Q-switched laser is most often used for pigmented scars, particularly in people with darker skin. Pigmented scars have excess melanin, which is targeted by the Q-switched laser.

Because there are many different types of scars, there are many types of lasers to treat them. Your choice of technology depends on your skin type, the scar you are trying to remove, and the doctor you choose.

These different technologies have been used under several brand names, so be sure to ask your doctor about the type of laser technology being used before you agree to the happinesslifetime.com laser scar removal procedure.

Advanced Laser Lipo

Advanced laser lipo is also referred to as "Smart Lipo" or "Lunchtime Lipo", due to the procedure's reputation as the fastest and safest fat reduction procedure around. Laser Liposuction stands miles apart from traditional liposuction, providing those carrying pockets of unwanted fat with an opportunity to get the body they have always desired.

Performed under a local anesthetic, and using a powerful diode laser, the procedure can give you a whole new look without having to undergo a full blown operation or spend any time recovering in hospital. This all-round safer treatment allows patients to stay conscious throughout, converse with their surgeon during the process and be back to normal activities within 24 hours.

Advanced 600nm laser fibres are inserted through a small nick in the skin to break down fat cell walls in a quick and effective way. The procedure removes fat cells completely and is far gentler than traditional lipo resulting in minimal bruising and discomfort.

The liquefied fat from this procedure is then immediately sucked away at the end. What's left is naturally absorbed and removed from the body. After undergoing treatment, you will be able to return to day-to-day life almost immediately, with very little recovery time required.

This safe treatment is used frequently by celebrities due to its fantastic results. Laser Lipo can be performed on various different areas of the body including arms, chin and knees. It is perfectly suited to those common areas of fat deposits, such as the thighs and abdomen. Post-treatment results are quick to see and patients are left with tighter, more toned skin at the treated areas.

The treatment requires just one procedure, which lasts from around 60-90 minutes. Treatment times for larger areas including both thighs and abdominal areas are significantly reduced compared to traditional techniques, due to the advanced technology of the powerful Osyris 25w diode laser.

Acne Laser Treatment - Insider Facts On How It Works

Acne is becoming a scourge that is growing more and more difficult to live with. With the skin condition spreading to more adults as well as teenagers there are many different types of treatments that have been used to treat this condition. Some of the treatments have been successful and some fail drastically. The secret is in discovering which treatment will work best with which type of skin.

For the lucky few acne can be treated with applicants and drugs that are available over the counter, but then there are the less fortunate who try to treat acne with these self-medication products and they are not so successful. In the meantime vital time is lost and acne consolidates itself and becomes very difficult to remove, in the event leaving behind ugly acne scars that may last a life time.

It is best to let a doctor decide which treatment is best for acne. Some doctors will recommend laser treatment as the best way to treat acne at the outset. Erbium laser treatment for acne scarring is fast gaining popularity with the medical fraternity the world over. It is a technique that is being recommended by many doctors for the treatment of acne as it prevents scarring. Erbium is also known to effectively heal scars left behind by acne.

While laser is a very good treatment for acne it can be a bit on the expensive side so science has come up with an alternative treatment for acne during the active period of the disorder. This is a treatment that involves the use of aluminum hydroxide crystals that are used as an abrasive to remove layers of the skin. The abrasion removes the dead layers of the skin that assist in the spread of acne and cause a hindrance to the treatment of the disorder. Though this treatment is used only with the most severe forms of acne it is seldom used on acne that threatens to spread over the area. Aluminum hydroxide crystals are best used in areas such as the back and neck as these places are difficult to reach and need effective and fast treatment.

Acne treatment requires a lot of time and patience for any form of treatment before a person can visibly see the results. Laser treatment for acne scarring is the fastest and the most effective way to rid one of acne and acne scars. Abrasive methods such as the use of aluminum hydroxide crystals are good for shallow scarring and not the deep forms of acne scars. Mole Laser Removal - Laser Treatment Compared To Other Mole Removal Treatments

Mole happinesslifetime.com laser removal is just one among many treatment choices you have got when you have decided to get rid of a mole. Before you opt for this method, you owe it to yourself to arm yourself with basic information about what moles are, when they ought to be removed, and what your other options are.

Moles are usually not a threat to your health. They are simply dark spots of pigment that can appear anywhere on your body.

Generally, moles come in two types. First, the moles you may have been born with are rarely any trouble to your well being. They tend to remain the same shape, size and color for the whole of your life. Quite likely you have got several of these already.

Second, moles which appear later in life may appear gradually, and then go on to change shape, color or form. These have to be watched, as they may be the signal that something more serious is afoot.

Moles may be the precursor to skin cancer in some cases. If you are quite fair skinned and live or work in a very bright, sunlit environment, you should regularly check your body for any marks suddenly appearing.

All that said, most of us do not have to worry about our moles. They are naturally occurring events, and do not pose a risk.

So, given that the choice to remove a mole is largely a cosmetic one, which method should you choose?

The three main choices are laser treatment, cryotherapy and surgery. Each has its advantages and drawbacks, so let's look at each in turn.

Laser treatment is the use of a small, hand held laser to literally burn the mole off. It may be a relatively brief procedure or may be longer, depending on the size and depth of your mole.

Remember, a mole is not a growth on your skin, it is part of your skin, a small localized accretion of pigment. Getting rid of it with laser may require repeat treatments, and may entail the removal of a small but significant amount of tissue.

Cryotherapy literally freezes the mole off. Your specialist uses liquid nitrogen to freeze the mole and a small portion of tissue surrounding it. The dead, frozen mole is then removed by lancing it.

Finally, surgical excision is the most radical method. This will incur the greatest cost and time commitment, and you will resort to this only in those cases where you have a very large or noticeable mole and are anxious to be rid of it. Remember that this is a cosmetic, elective procedure, so before you dive into surgery, talk to your insurer as to whether you are covered, and consider options which might be cheaper but give the same result.

Laser treatment recommends itself for smaller, less deep moles. As I said above, you are looking at repeat procedures if your mole is quite deep.

Moreover, laser therapy does have some pain associated with it. The pain has been described as akin to an elastic band being snapped against the skin. It may be quite uncomfortable, depending on where your mole is and your level of pain tolerance. Talk to your specialist about local anesthesia to make the experience as comfortable as possible.

Finally, laser treatment is not necessarily cheap. While it has a good reputation for being a very clean, relatively scar-free solution to mole removal, it may cost you, particularly if you need repeat treatments.

Laser Skin Resurfacing With Fractionated CO2 (Total FX)

Fractionated CO2 technology has revolutionized our ability to treat moderate to severe skin aging and scarring with minimal downtime. In the past, the best laser treatment as far as effectiveness was standard (unfractionated) C02. Unfortunately, while producing dramatic skin tightening and smoothening of wrinkles, the standard deep CO2 laser peel often causes permanent skin lightening.

Fractionated CO2 harnesses the power of CO2 but decrease the chances of skin lightening by fractionating the laser beam (treating a fraction of the skin surface at a time).

By treating only a fraction of the skin surface, the healthy untreated skin aids in the healing process and decreases chances of hypopigmentation (permanent skin lightening), scarring, or prolonged redness. By controlling the density of the treatment (what percentage of the skin surface is actually hit by the laser) as well as the depth or power of the laser, a skilled surgeon can tailor a fractionated CO2 skin resurfacing treatment to achieve dramatic results in most skin types.

In our practice, the Ultrapulse CO2 laser from Lumenis is used for this treatment. This was the first device to introduce fractionated CO2 resurfacing and has made a lot of progress as far as treatment options and parameters. The Active FX is the name given by the company to their fractionated treatment done with a standard spot size of 1.25mm. At this spot size the treatment depth is relatively superficial but by increasing the density and or frequency of the pulses one can achieve fairly dramatic skin tightening and texture improvement. Deep FX is the name given to the treatment when performed with a decreased spot size of 0.12 mm. The smaller spot size means greater power which means the laser goes deeper into the tissue. However, it is still fractionated, making it a relatively safe treatment. Total FX means a combination of Active FX and Deep Fx spot sizes. Generally, the Deep FX is used on deeper lines or scars (around the lips or corners of the eyes in most patients). Active FX is then feathered over these areas and the rest of the face. This combination is currently believed to provide the best total rejuvenation with the quickest recovery and minimal risks, according to the company.

In our practice our patients have been very satisfied with Active FX, and when the deeper lines around the lips are softened further with the Deep FX this has been icing on the cake for them.

The cost of fractionated CO2 laser skin resurfacing varies. Some clinics have nurses performing Active FX and occasionally deep FX. The problem with this is that outcome is highly dependent on the level of comfort and experience of the practitioner. Density of the treatment can vary from 1 to 5, at which point only a doctor should be handling the laser. Another factor is the brand of laser being used. The Ultrapulse from Lumenis has been around longest and therefore has the best track record with established parameters. This is also the most expensive laser at around $150,000 to purchase. It should generally be expected that a combo treatment or "total FX" combining different spot sizes will be more expensive. This requires more time and planning on the part of the surgeon, and also more expensive equipment.

A final consideration that can affect cost of treatment is "after care." The treating facility should have an experienced esthetician who has been trained to deal with post-laser skin. The esthetician should provide quality skin care products and guidance, without making patients feel they are paying a "second procedure fee" or exorbitant cost for products.

The Cost of Laser Hair Removal - Is Laser Hair Removal Safe?

If you stop to consider the cost of laser hair removal it can be quite expensive. In monetary terms it can run you anywhere from $200-$800 depending on the surface and area and density of the hair. It generally will require several sessions. So expect to pay several hundred to several thousand dollars.

The procedure has become popular since its introduction in the 90's. It is quick, efficient, it works and there's not as much pain or down time as there is with other methods. However there are some dangers of laser hair removal that you should be aware of before undergoing treatment.

Some of these include:

- Swelling

- Skin Blistering

- Skin Reddening

- Hyper-Pigmentation of the skin

- Wound Infection

- Skin Scarring

- Tattoo Darkening

If the procedure isn't performed correctly there is a risk of getting burnt. This happens when the skin, absorbs the heat of the laser, rather than the hair follicle. That's why it is important to find a qualified doctor who has extensive training and experience with laser hair removal.

Hyper pigmentation of the skin can be prevented by using whitening creams on the skin before undergoing the procedure. The other side effects like blistering and reddening can be treated and are usually just temporary. Wound infection isn't common, but does occur on some occasions and of course can be treated with a series of antibiotics.

Whatever the case make sure to do your research beforehand, and find a reputable clinic with good references. No matter what the marketing people tell you there are dangers and it is not 100% safe. If you consider the cost of laser hair removal it may not be the right solution for you.

Laser Scar Treatment - What to Expect

As with any other medical procedure, make sure you know what to expect before committing to laser scar treatment. If you are considering the procedure, your first step is to schedule a consultation with a dermatologist who offers it. Choosing a reputable doctor is the most important step you can take in ensuring that your laser scar treatment goes smoothly. Once you schedule the appointment, stop tanning and avoid sun exposure. This will help to make the procedure more effective and lower your risk of side effects. If you are on any medications, discuss these with your doctor, as you may need to discontinue their use a few weeks before the treatment.

Once the day of your procedure has arrived, do not apply makeup or lotion near the scarred area. Once you arrive for your appointment, a nurse or technician will apply a special cooling gel to the area. If the scar is in a sensitive area, an anesthetic may also be used. Although most patients find the pain tolerable, if you are worried about the pain it may be wise to take an over-the-counter pain reliever just before the procedure.

During your laser scar treatment, you will wear protective eyewear so the lasers do not affect your eyes. The doctor will hold a special handheld laser device to your skin, sending a laser pulse into the area. Each pulse may come with a slight stinging sensation, like a rubber band snapping against your skin.

Depending on the size of your scar, your treatment could take 15 minutes up to an hour. After the procedure is over, it will leave your skin red and a little swollen. This should subside within a day or two. Your total recovery time will depend on your body's ability to heal itself, as well as the type of laser used. Some lasers penetrate the skin more deeply than others. While you can resume your normal activities right after the procedure, it may take up to two weeks for the treated area to fully heal.

During the time your skin is healing, avoid the sun and use sunscreen. Your doctor may prescribe a medicated cream for the area. Moisturize often to keep the skin hydrated and promote healing. Do not rigorously scrub the treated area or otherwise irritate it.

Many people choose to have between three and six laser scar treatments on their scar. Of course, you can stop treatment once you feel that the scar has reached an acceptable appearance. It may not be possible to fully remove any trace of the scar.

Laser Treatments For Acne

Acne, like other diseases, can be controlled and cured but you need to know the right treatment that would work for you. Currently, you will find a number of treatments for acne where all are of different nature. Amongst the most popular ones is treatment using laser beams. Let's see how effective these are and if there are any negative effects.

Laser beams pass through the surface of the skin to deeper levels. Although the skin surface remains unharmed, laser beams can inflict damage to the sebaceous glands which produce sebum. This damage then results in reduced sebum production, which helps control acne. There are some other laser treatments that target the P. acnes bacterium that is responsible for acne growth. In addition to controlling acne, laser treatments can also assist in removal of acne scars.

In cases of severe acne, treating the patients using erbium glass laser can result in as much as 80% acne reduction within 6-12 months. This was confirmed in two separate researches brought in during a session by the American Society for Laser Medicine and Surgery. In one of these researches, 18 acne patients were chosen who had different types of acne ranging from comedones to pustules. These patients had acne both on the face and on the back. After 1 year of laser therapy, only around 20% of the original acne lesions were remained there. It must be noted here that these people had previously tried other treatments like Accutane and prescription drugs but did not get sufficient results. However, all these other treatments were stopped at least six months before starting laser therapy, so the other treatments did not affect experimental results.

Although doctors did not find any serious side effects other than erythema and edema, the patients did report slight pain when laser beams were being used. However, this research did not note how many treatments would be ideal if laser therapy is used.

The second research too used erbium glass laser on 15 patients who were in the middle or late stages of acne development. In this particular study, 80% of the lesions were removed after six months of treatment. Although the subjects mentioned they felt less oil on their skin, lab tests did not show any significant decrease in sebum production inside the body.

These studies along with others have proved the effectiveness of laser therapy for treating acne even when other methods like Accutane fail to cure. However, for maximum effectiveness and fast cure, it is advisable to use laser therapy along with some other proven natural treatments like vitamin B5. This would ensure that you not only get rid of acne soon but also control acne after you stop laser treatment.

What is the Best Way of Treating Aging Skin?

In this day and age that people have become obsessed with the way they look, treating aging skin has gained an increasing importance in medical research. In this article, I will first try to give you an overview of the underlying causes of skin aging and then I will present the different options one has in front of her or him, when she or he is seeking the best route to retard the aging process.

As scientists say, there are two types of aging. One is called "intrinsic" and the other "extrinsic".

First, the "intrinsic" type. As its name suggests, this type of aging is caused by internal factors, i.e. from the genes we inherit. It is a continuous process that normally begins in our mid-20s. In a nutshell, what happens during this process is that the collagen and elastin underneath our skin, these are proteins which keep our skin youthful looking and firm, gets gradually depleted. As a result, our skin begins to sag and form wrinkles.

The speed, with which this process unfolds, depends on the type of genes we have. Some of us show visible signs of aging even from mid-thirties, while others seem to age gracefully, with no signs until our mature years.

And then, we have the "extrinsic" type of aging. A number of external factors often act together with the normal aging process to prematurely age our skin. Most premature aging is caused by sun exposure. Other external factors that prematurely age our skin are repetitive facial expressions, gravity (when elastin and collagen get less and less, the effect of earth's gravity on our body gets increasingly pronounced leading to drooping nose tips, elongated ears etc.) and smoking.

Broadly speaking, considering now the options we have in treating aging skin, there are two types of treatment. One is the more "aggressive" type, which involves application of direct cosmetic procedures that can only be performed by a qualified dermatologist. The other type is the "mild" treatment you can do on your own, involving use of appropriate anti aging skin care products.

Some brief examples of treating aging skin through cosmetic procedures are listed below. As you can imagine, thanks to the spectacular technological breakthroughs that have been achieved the last few years, there is an impressive and diverse array of cosmetic procedures that now exist and a complete presentation of these is beyond the scope of this article!

1. Botulinum Rejuvenation: This method is widely known as Botox. During this procedure, small amounts of botulinum toxin are injected into the desired area (face and/or neck).

2. Chemical Peeling: This procedure involves direct application of chemicals on the skin (face, hands, neck, and chest), peeling away many visible signs of aging.

3. Laser Skin Rejuvenation: This method of treating aging skin is relatively new, which has emerged due to the rapid advancements of laser technology. Today's lasers can diminish many signs of aging - from early wrinkles and age spots to deep lines and spider veins.

There are pros and cons in each method and there are a whole bunch of variables that one must carefully consider before she or he decides to go down this route.

The most important variables to consider would be signs of aging you want to correct (wrinkles, discoloration, dull complexion etc), your age, possible side effects, required downtime, expected results, how long the results are expected to last before you need to undergo some treatment again and finally the cost.

Each variable is different from individual to individual and can only be defined in consultation with your dermatologist.

And, of course, don't forget the most important issue of all! Regardless of all the pros and cons, the success of all methods is solely dependent on the skills and qualifications of the person performing it. Make sure that you trust your precious skin to a professional dermatologist, qualified for the particular method you choose.

Having said all above, we now come to an alternative method of treating aging skin, much less aggressive: Using high quality, natural skin care products. With no surgical procedures, no downtime and zero side effects and very important, much less costly, considering that almost all of the methods discussed should be more or less frequently repeated. Of course, it is a much more gradual process, without the spectacular, overnight results that these methods promise to deliver.

The Quest For Smooth Hairless Skin Began in Ancient Times

It seems that human beings are a vain bunch, judging by the millions and millions of dollars that are raked in each and every year by the beauty and cosmetics industries.

However, this quest to look good has another deeper purpose. It goes hand in hand with our survival as a species. We try to look good to members of the opposite sex, and it is imperative that we do, because attractiveness is a sure fire aid to procreation.

Consider the birds of the air with their colorful plumage. In spring, when winged creatures come courting, they use all their wiles to attract a mate. Some do fancy dances with their feathers all puffed out. Some bring sparkling pebbles as a love offering.

The scarlet red of the Cardinal, and the sunny yellow of the Goldfinch are two striking examples of dressing to impress. Contrary to what we might think, it is the male of the species that sports the brightest colors.

Humans have engaged in some pretty bizzare beauty rituals during the course of history as well. While birds keep their feathers, humans pursue hair removal.

The ancient Egyptians shaved their heads and then donned wigs to protect against the harmful rays of the sun. Wigs were an early form of sunscreen.

In the 1700's it became common for men and women to wear elaborate wigs, that were colored with powder. Men favored white, while women sought lovely pastel shades of pink and blue. This became a fashion statement, but it really was the attempt to get rid of head lice. They shaved their heads, and then donned a wig.

For a long period of time, from the middle ages to the crusades, women adopted a look that involved a lot of suffering. They endured ridding themselves of every last hair from their necks, temples, eyelashes and eyebrows.

This was accomplished by yanking out each hair, one at a time. Back then, infection could easily set in, and without antibiotics, one could conceivably die trying to be beautiful.

In the 1770s, Jean-Jacques Perret, a French barber, wrote a piece called La Pogonotomie, or The Art of Learning to Shave Oneself. He tried to develop a safety razor to reduce the near inevitability of painful cuts.

With an L-shaped wooden guard, his invention was the grandfather of our modern razors, which continue to evolve to this day. But safety came slowly, and for most men being clean shaven meant nasty cuts and much tweezing to eliminate any stragglers.

A break-through happened in 1847 when William Henson came up with the idea of putting the razor blade perpendicular to the handle. This offered much more control of the implement and effectively replaced the straight razor which required endless sharpening.

Meanwhile, in the quest to be hairless, women were experimenting with various concoctions, pulling ingredients out of their kitchen cupboards and raiding the wine cellar. Some of the potions involved immersing oneself in a tub of the stuff for as long as twenty-four hours.

The first patent for a safety razor was applied for by the Kampfe brothers in the United States. This was a one-sided version with a wire guard to protect the skin all along the side of the blade. Although it was in improvement, the blade still had to be removed regularly for sharpening.

A salesman for the Baltimore Seal Company, with a very recognizable last name, was the next inventor in the quest for a safety razor. It was King Camp Gillette that spent six years developing and promoting the first disposable razor.

He called it his dream shaver, and there is no doubt that men all over the world, and women too, hailed it as a wonderful thing.

Today, we still use depilatory creams, pluck with tweezers, apply hot wax, and rely on our safety razors. These methods are all temporary and encroach on our valuable time when we could be doing something more fun.

Until just recently, electrolysis, although painful and time consuming, was the only way to achieve permanent hairless skin. In 2009, laser hair removal is the better option. It uses a gentle beam of light, that passes through your skin with no damage, directly into the hair follicle. Soothing, cooling methods keep you feeling comfortable during the procedure. Smooth, permanently hairless skin, without pain, is finally attainable.

Endovenous Laser Treatment - Say Goodbye to Varicose Veins!

The Damage Varicose Veins Can Bring Into Your Life

Before we start discussing Endovenous laser treatment, let's first take a look at what it is trying to treat, which are varicose veins. These abnormally inflated and swollen veins are typically seen in the legs. The cause of their growth is due to the weakening of the valves within the veins that let the blood flow back into your heart. Once the valves don't function correctly, blood will build up in the veins, enlarging them, resulting to varicose. The appearance of those varicose veins will really affect someone's confidence and can also cause physical pains. This is why seeking treatment in the form of laser treatment is really important to regain that confidence and healthy skin you once have.

A Modern, Painless and Cheaper Means of Treating Varicose

Some people chose not to have their varicose get treated because they worry about the operation they will have to undertake and the amount of money it will cost them. Fortunately, a new way of treating those nasty, bulging veins have been in introduced in the market in the form of Endovenous Treatment. This procedure cost less and is only done on an outpatient process with the use of local anesthesia.

Endovenous laser therapy is intended to substitute those standard stripping and ligation procedures that are known to be expensive and requires patients to undergo a general anesthesia. Moreover, the laser therapy will leave no scars, which is such a relief for most patients. The treatment includes a physical and an ultrasound examination to take note of the veins that have to be cured. You don't have to stay long in the hospital or clinic because the procedure will take for less than an hour only.

Once the affected body part is anesthetized locally, the doctor will place a thin laser fiber into the varicose or abnormal vein, sending the laser energy in quick pulses. The laser energy will then heat up the vein, resulting for it to get smaller and subside, while avoiding pooling of the blood. Instantly after the operation, patients can start walking and on the next day, it's suggested that they resume their daily activities.

Take note though that intense working out like running or aerobics lessons are strictly prohibited for at least 2-3 weeks after the varicose laser therapy. It is just normal for patients to experience soreness and a little bruising for about 3-5 days following the treatment. The pain can be managed and eased through walking or in taking of pain relief medicines.

Safely and Cheaply Eliminate Your Varicose with Endovenous Laser Therapy

The Endovenous laser therapy is not only a relief for varicose suffering patients but to the doctors as well because of its fast and risk-free procedure. It has tons of advantages and no side effects, plus proven to be really effective based on the comments of people who have tried it. This treatment is no doubt a great and efficient cure for those nasty and embarrassing varicose veins.

What Can Laser Surgery Stretch Mark Removal Do For You?

Finding the right stretch mark removal solution for you may not be an easy task. But if you are looking for a treatment that will guarantee the disappearance of your unsightly marks then laser surgery stretch mark removal might be the answer to your dilemma. The following are just some of the many benefits of undergoing a treatment like this.

- Removal of red stretch marks and reduction in appearance of silver or white marks

- Painless procedure

- Stimulate skin healing and cell regeneration

- Minimal recovery time

The many benefits of this treatment might sound unbelievable at first. But once you've learned about how this treatment operates, you will see that this procedure is made effective by advanced technology.

Instead of surgically removing the stretch marks, a beam of light is used to penetrate into the dermis and disrupt the scar tissue particles. The tissues will then disintegrate and eventually disappear. Once the old tissues have vacated the area, new collagen and skin tissues will develop and the healing process will have started. Therefore, not only does laser surgery stretch mark removal get rid of your stretch marks, it also helps your skin become healthy and smooth.

Microdermabrasion - If you want to make your skin even smoother, you can also combine laser surgery with another proven treatment like microdermabrasion. Microdermabrasion is a cosmetic procedure wherein dead skin cells on the outermost layer of the skin are removed by light abrasion.

Age Matters - And just like people, not all stretch marks are the same and the efficacy of the treatment will depend on the age of the stretch marks. Stretch marks in its early stages of development are usually red or brown in color. However, it will take longer to reduce the appearance of stretch marks that have aged, like those that are silver or white. The explanation lies behind the fact that laser pulsed light usually works best on dark or reddish streaks.

Skin Color - There are also other things to consider especially if you have dark skin. Treating a person of color requires much skill because laser emits light for the melanin to absorb and people of color have more melanin pigment. So if a laser beam is focused on a stretch mark, the surrounding melanin might steal away the laser light, which can cause injury to the skin. In order for you to avoid this, find a skilled physician who can properly administer a treatment that is fit for your type of skin. The best treatment plan would be to use longer wavelengths laser because melanin is designed to absorbed lasers with shorter wavelengths.

Advantages - Laser surgery stretch mark removal has an advantage over other surgical procedures because it is non invasive. This means that you will not experience excruciating pain during or after the procedure. The only pain you will feel is a pinching sensation. Furthermore, you will be able to go back to work or any activity you would like to do right after a treatment. The treatment usually takes about ten minutes to an hour, depending on the severity of stretch marks. So you can definitely get a procedure done even during your lunch break. Usually, each session can set you back anywhere from four hundred to one thousand five hundred dollars.

The Latest in Skin Care Treatments

With people all worried about their appearances, the skin care treatment industry has become a worldwide moneymaker, earning billions of dollars each year from people across all demographics.

Microdermabrasion

This is one of the most popular surgical and laser treatment in the country. It improves the skin tone of the body and brings back its luster. Microdermabrasion also helps in getting rid of superficial scars from acne.

For some, a total of six peelings are needed to achieve the best results. Others can get away with less depending on the condition of the skin. Often the procedure is done every one to two weeks. It makes use of aluminum crystals that create a micro-dermabrasion effect that helps peel the skin.

Although the skin is the most common area treated by the procedure, it is also done on the neck, chest, arms, hands or any area that are damaged by the sun. It is also used for skins with irregular pigmentation such as sun spots and melasma; those with irregular and rough skin; and even those with some wrinkles and stretch marks.

Effects of the procedure is said to better than those seen in glycolic acid peels. Another advantage is the longer healing and recovery time compared to other procedures. There is also a shorter treatment time as well very minimal discomfort. It is also said to be very safe for all skin types as well as all races.

Although it is less expensive, it can be expensive on the long run as it requires multiple treatments. So, before having yourself treated, make sure that you have already determined the total cost.

Photorejuvenation

This is another skin treatment in the country. Through the use of laser or broadband light, mild acne scarring can be improved by causing a new layer of collagen to form on the skin. Often, this procedure will require five to six treatments that are performed every three to four weeks.

Scar Revision

This is a surgical procedure conducted to remove acne scars, especially the ice pick and box cars, which are pretty deep. An excision is made during the procedure through a punch. This hole is then closed with sutures that are often about seven days later.

Another technique used in this procedure is the subcision, which uses a sharp instrument to undercut the scar being treated.

Laser Treatments

Other forms of skin treatments are the Laser resurfacing (CO2 laser, Erbium Yag laser); Pulsed dye laser and Laser skin resurfacing.

Laser Tattoo Removal 101

The bad news: your mother was right. It wasn't a good idea to have your ex-wife's name tattooed on your bicep. You don't want the name of your favorite adolescent band across your buttocks for the rest of your life after all. Or that evil, fire-breathing pixie with wings around both of your nipples. Hindsight is 20/20.

The good news: tattoos can now be removed in a simple and relatively painless procedure.

There are many reasons to have a tattoo removed. Tattoos can sometimes inhibit career advancement in fields where a professional appearance is important. Sometimes bodies change, and as fat or muscle is lost or gained, the shape and look of a tattoo can become less attractive. Some people want to remove signs of gangs they are no longer affiliated with. Other people simply no longer feel that their tattoo aids their self-expression and do not find it aesthetically pleasing. Of course, one of the most common reasons sighted among those who seek the procedure is a desire to have a former lover's name removed. No matter what your reason is for seeking tattoo removal, you will certainly feel unburdened by removing a tattoo you no longer want.

In this brief article I'll attempt to answer some common questions about how tattoos are removed and what you can expect from the procedure. How does laser tattoo removal work?

Tattoos are removed by directing laser energy at the tattooed area for a fraction of a second, passing through the outer layer of the skin and directly targeting the tattoo ink. The laser disrupts the ink, allowing your body to absorb it and break it down naturally. Over the next few weeks, the body's scavenger cells remove pigment residues.

What kind of laser is used?

In my practice, I use the Nd, the Q-switched YAG laser. It is the newest and one of the most effective ways to remove tattoos.

I've heard that lasers leave scars or lighter skin in the place where the tattoo used to be. This sounds even uglier than the tattoo itself! Are these rumors true? Earlier methods in tattoo removal involved the use of dermabrasion, salabrasion, surgery and CO2 lasers, but these procedures left behind scars or lighter skin in place of the tattoo, which may have been worse than the tattoo itself. With the Nd, most tattoos completely dissappear and patients are left with no scars or lighter skin.

Is the process painful?

There is some slight discomfort involved in the procedure, but it is not painful. Patients have described the sensation as similar to that of a tiny rubberband snapping on the skin. The procedure is much less uncomfortable than getting a tattoo! If you are worried about potential discomfort, your doctor may apply a topical anesthetic cream to the area. You can also take Tylenol before tattoo removal. Please discuss these options with your doctor.

How long does each treatment last?

Usually only a few minutes.

Is tattoo removal safe?

Tattoo removal is a low-risk, out-patient procedure.

How long will it take before I can return to work?

Most patients can return to work the same day or the next day following their treatment.

How many treatment sessions will it take to remove the tattoo?

Professional tattoos may require 1-10 treatments, with the average being 5-10 treatments. Homemade tattoos usually require 1-4 treatments. All treatments are spaced about two months apart or longer. The number of treatments depends on the amount of ink used, the type of ink used, the depth of the ink in the skin, the location of the tattoo, and the patient's individual health considerations. Most tattoos are significantly reduced in appearance after the first session. After each treatment, the tattoo should become progressively lighter.

How much will it cost?

Pricing ranges from $250 to $850 as an average per treatment.

Do all colors of ink disappear equally as well?

No, dark (blue/black) inks and red inks fade the best. Oranges, yellows, and purples usually respond well. Green, light teal/sky blue, inks are the most difficult to remove, although additional treatments can produce excellent results.

Will the tattoo completely disappear?

In many cases, yes. However, it is very important to know that over 100 tattoo inks are in use worldwide today, none of which are regulated by the FDA. Not knowing which tattoo ink, how deep or how much was used, makes it difficult to predict the degree of removal on any given tattoo.

What can I expect post-treatment?

A healing ointment and a dressing will be applied to the area. The treated area should be kept clean with continued application of ointment given to you by the health care professional. A shower can be taken the next day, although the treated area should not be scrubbed. You may feel slightly "sunburnt" for a few days.

Are there any side effects of tattoo removal?

Side effects of laser procedures are generally few but may include hyperpigmentation, or an abundance of color in the skin at the treatment site, and hypopigmentation, where the treated area lacks normal skin color. Other possible side effects include infection of the site, lack of complete pigment removal and a 5 percent chance of permanent scarring. The vast majority of patients report having no side effects.

How Do I Find a Reputable Doctor to Do Laser Tattoo Removal?

At a minimum, you should be sure to research the doctor's qualifications and be aware of "look-alike" board-certifications: only the American Society of Plastic Surgeons represents the highest degree of professional certification. You will also want to interview your potential surgeon and ask any questions you may have about the procedure. Almost all plastic surgeons will offer a free consultation.

Discount Laser Hair Removal - Is Laser Still the Best?

Discount laser hair removal might be quite difficult to find if you are not familiar with the clinics in your area. But if you are really determined to scout and get the most of your money from laser hair removal, read on. After all, laser hair removal is still one of the best ways to remove unwanted hair in large areas of your skin.

Laser hair removal works by using a laser light to damage the hair follicles. This can either eliminate the growth of hair completely or just stunt them for a period of time depending on your hair type. With this said, keep in mind that the results may vary and does not guarantee permanence.

Laser hair removal is not and has never been cheap. The most respected clinics hardly offer discounts too unless you have become a loyal client. And also, depending on your skin type and hair type, you might need more than just a single session for just one part of your body. Others even have annual visits to clinics. Fortunately, in some clinics, the rates lessen as the hair becomes finer in the subsequent treatments. Be prepared to hand in hundreds. But although it is much more costly than other beauty treatments, there are ways to find a discount.

First, get in touch online with people who have undergone the procedure in your area. It would be easier to find a clinic that offers discount laser hair removal based on other people's experiences. They might be able to recommend affordable and reliable clinics. This helps you narrow down your search.

Next, take note of those clinics recommended and call them up to set consultation meetings. If you want to try other clinics as well, open the phonebook to the yellow pages. Set appointments as well for consultation. You need not go to all the clinics you've heard of, but seeing at least four clinics will do. After that, make the decision as to where you want to have the procedure done. Be sure to have talked with the dermatologist or practitioner as to what result you want to be achieved.

Then ask how much the charge is. The average costs are $150 to $300 for an overall treatment on the face, $200 to $400 for half of the legs, and $200 to $500 for the entire back.

After taking all the facts you have gathered, take a step back to compare each clinic. Consider your own safety first rather than just choosing the cheapest one. Does the clinic have a good reputation? Are you comfortable with the practitioner? Is he or she qualified to perform the procedure? These are questions you need to answer because although laser hair removal is considered a beauty treatment, it's still a delicate procedure. Your skin might just get burned.

And lastly, if there are package deals, take them into consideration. Having multiple procedures done will get you discount laser hair removal and you get to save not only money, but time as well.

If this is too much money, you may want to look into using thermicon technology, which lets you get similar results at home, with none of the side effects of the laser treatment.

Cosmetic Laser Treatment - Skin Therapy That Works

Do you have embarrassing scars from the acne that plagued you as a teen? Do you still have your ex-husband's name tattooed on your arm or lower back? Read this article to learn about the type of cosmetic laser treatment that would work for you.

Recently introduced as a treatment for scar removal, laser treatments remove scars from acne, burns, and plastic surgery scars. This procedure has been very effective. It does involve more risk than non-surgical treatments, and the costs are much higher.

Laser treatments are also an effective method of treating acne. People with severe cases of acne benefit most from this procedure. It is frequently recommended if topical creams or chemical peels have not worked. Acne treatments are painless and do not require any recovery time before you can return to work or school. They usually take from 15 to 60 minutes. Only licensed professionals with special training should administer these treatments.

Laser therapy involves a two-step process. In the first step, the laser is used to kill the skin bacteria that cause acne. This stops the current infection. Next, the laser is used to shrink the skin's oil-producing, or sebaceous, glands. This step prevents recurring eruptions.

Professionals use laser treatments to remove acne scars in the same way that they use them for scar removal and wrinkle treatments. Two different types of lasers can be used for these cosmetic treatments. The Erbium laser is less effective, but there is less risk of complications. The CO2 laser is more effective, but can be dangerous if used by someone who is inexperienced. Furthermore, the recovery time is often longer.

Lasers are effective in removing tattoos as well. Their quick pulsations destroy the tattoo's colors without destroying the underlying skin. The Q-switched laser is most effective and does not cause scarring. Three different types of laser light (Yag, Ruby, and Alexandrite) are used.

These same types of lasers have been used for the successful removal of unwanted hair from the legs, chin, back, or other areas. A newer type of laser, the Neodymium, appears to be the most beneficial to date. Remember, however, that the treatment is only effective for six weeks to six months, and is not useful for persons with white, blond, or grey hair.

If you are interested in these types of cosmetic laser treatment, educate yourself. Finally, locate an experienced professional; laser treatments can cause scars if not properly used. Protect your skin - and your body!

When to Consider Laser

Medical science has drastically changed on all levels thanks to the changes and improvements that come with technology. Laser cosmetic surgery has made it possible for the successful treatment of many dermatological ailments and issues. It wasn't that long ago that people born with facial birthmarks or victims of amateur tattoos were sentenced to live out their days unhappy with their physical appearance. As times change and vast technological improvements become everyday tools, the options are growing and people everywhere are taking advantage of it. Having a laser procedure done isn't like deciding between apples or oranges. This is life and it's a big decision that demands the utmost in planning and implementation.

It should be no surprise to anyone that there are many people who secretly, or perhaps not so secretly, hate their tattoo. Whether it's a classic case of an ex partner's name or a poor job done by the artist, there is no end to the reasons people will have a tattoo removed. It's just so easy to walk into the parlor and have it done that little thought is being invested into what is really a big commitment. Having ink etched permanently into your skin may seem like a good idea at the moment but in a matter of time it could lead you to your local laser surgeon for removal. The elimination of regrettable ink is a main reason that many people seek out laser cosmetic surgery. If you're ready to say goodbye to your art, start by making an appointment for consultation.

A lot of things can lead to scarring. Cuts, burns or accidents can result in injury that heals into a scar. Even acne can leave scars behind as a permanent reminder of the abuse and distress the skin takes on a daily basis. Noticeable scarring is a great reason to think about laser treatment. If you're sporting a few marks here and there from childhood and it really doesn't take hold on your life then it probably wouldn't be beneficial. Advantages of Laser Hair Removal Over Traditional Hair Removal Methods

Body hair from our head down to our legs generally provides protection for our skin. However, modern clothing and the development of lotions that protect our skin from harsh elements and extreme temperature has made our body hair less important for our survival.

Men and women today look at their body hair as useless and undesirable physical features they would prefer eliminated permanently. Certain areas of the human body, such as the legs and armpits in women and the chest for men, look more aesthetically pleasing without the body hair.

Traditional Hair Removal Methods

Traditional methods, such as shaving, waxing and tweezing, produce temporary results and work well on relatively small areas. These methods, however, use devices that scrape or pull out the hair from the skin. The friction from the blade and the forceful hair plucking can cause skin irritation for those with sensitive skin.

In the beginning, the methods produce positive results. However, consistent shaving, waxing and tweezing can cause several undesirable effects, such as ingrown hairs, nicks, chicken skin and rashes.

There is no doubt that laser is the best solution for removing body hair completely and permanently. The use of laser removes hair from both small and large areas of the body, including sensitive areas like the groin.

Advantages of Laser Hair Removal

Because happinesslifetime.com laser removal produces permanent results, it appears as the best option. Best results depend on the skills of the technician and the equipment used by the medical spa. People with fair sensitive skin and coarse dark hair benefit the most from this procedure.

happinesslifetime.com Laser removal produces little to no side effects because the procedure uses precise laser technology. Some individuals may experience a small amount of pain or discomfort, but the effects are often minimal and short lived when compared to other cosmetic procedures.

When compared to the cost of buying shaving cream, moisturizing lotions, shavers, tweezers, and wax strips, the cost of laser hair removal at your local medical spa seems worth every penny spent. The permanent and complete removal of unwanted hair down to its roots rather tips the scale in favor of this costly procedure.

The total cost of sessions for laser hair removal may vary with individuals. It depends on hair growth patterns, thickness of hair and the type of skin the client has. The equipment to use and the supplementary lotions and gels that help the burned hair follicles heal faster also affect the price of the procedure.

The Verdict

happinesslifetime.com Laser removal completely removes unwanted body hair down to its roots, which prevents hair from growing again. This procedure may cause a little pain or discomfort because the pinpoint laser precisely burns hair follicles at the right depth and intensity. However, these side effects are short lived and minimal.

Compared to other hair removal procedures, such as waxing and plucking, happinesslifetime.com laser removal does not result to skin irritation, ingrown hairs, scars from nicks, and chicken skin from inverted skin pores due to forceful hair plucking.

Although laser hair removal is costly, the hefty price tag is worth the benefits that clients get. The payment also covers all the prescribed number of sessions and the supplemental gels and lotions that relieve momentary swelling or discomfort. This is practically a one-time expenditure and may not happen again.

Generally, laser hair removal seems the best option for a client who wants quality service and reliable results. If you have money to spare, then you should invest in laser hair removal at your nearest medical spa. Look for a reputable establishment, such as the Cosmetic Rejuvenation Medical Center, where licensed technicians perform procedures for removing body hair using the best laser technology.

Laser Hair Removal: Toss the Razor?

Permanent Hair Removal with Lasers? Can You Really Kiss the Razor Bye Bye?

Permanent hair removal via new laser technology is quickly becoming the method of choice for thousands of women to permanently banish those long leg and underarm shaving sessions, and to leave them soft and smooth without wasting precious minutes every day. So, what is the cost of laser hair removal, and what does the process entail? Well, I will tell you...

First of all, not everyone is eligible for laser hair removal, so you should definitely consult with a specialist or specialist organization before you even consider this route for permanent hair removal.

While laser hair removal is much less expensive than the (somewhat painful) method of removing hair called electrolysis, some individuals may only be eligible for electrolysis due to physical and hair characteristics which make laser hair removal very difficult or impossible.

First of all, any person who is exceptionally dark in skin pigmentation would not be a good candidate for this procedure, and may want to look into alternatives to lasers to remove unwanted body or facial hair. Additionally, people with tanned skin and light hair, or people with generally very light hair would not be good candidates.

Cost of Laser Hair Removal?

The cost can vary considerably, depending on whether you choose to do a large area of your body, like your legs (which will cost considerably more), or just a small area, like facial hair above the lip and so on. Generally each session costs roughly $500 for smaller or medium size areas, and depending on the surface area covered will cost more per session, and require return sessions to get all of the hair removed.

How Does Laser Hair Removal Work?

Well, I've got good and bad news here. You will require return treatments to keep the hair gone, and to get all of it, and contrary to what most people believe, you will not be able to hang up the razor forever, because you will still have a few stray hairs here and there. Trust me, it would be nearly impossible to get every single hair, maybe some day, but this technology has not come this far yet today. I will say this, you will be considerably smoother and have to worry about shaving way less though, so it's still worth it.

And get this, while they know that laser hair removal makes your hair fall out, they still are not exactly sure why. In other words, there is conjecture that the laser action and heat below the surface of the skin breaks the hair follicle apart and destroys that hair permanently, but they don't have 100% conclusive evidence of that theory yet. What happens after a laser treatment is that over the course of the next few weeks or months after treatment, the hair on the treated area just falls out. For whatever reason, laser hair removal tends to work best for people with a fair complexion and darker hair.

Interesting huh? So, if you were considering having your hair removed by a laser professionally, whether it be for your legs, or facial hairs or any other unwanted bodily hair, hopefully now you can go into it a little more educated!

Laser hair removal is an effective way to get rid of unwanted hair that has been around since the mid-90's. It works by removing the hair from its root. The question on many people's mind is can is is it safe and can laser hair removal cause cancer? Well while not 100% safe as it can cause damage to the skin it is relatively safe and it certainly does not pose any life threatening risks like cancer.

Hair Loss Treatment With Lasers

We've all heard about the marvels of lasers, from the technological breakthroughs in laser surgery to whitening teeth. But did you know that there have been breakthroughs using lasers as a hair loss treatment using low-light lasers? In fact, the technology behind lasers as a hair loss treatment, also called "laser hair regrowth therapy" has been around for more than twenty years, and has been used extensively in Europe successfully treating hair loss. Only in the past decade have low-light lasers come into widespread use in laser hair regrowth therapy here in the Unites States. Hand-held laser devices have recently been approved by the FDA as a hair loss treatment, giving it a new credibility it has long enjoyed in Europe.

While studies show that some 90% of clients who use laser hair regrowth therapy as a hair loss treatment method see a marked change in the quality of their hair, its thickness and its shedding, there's more to the story than that. A reputable hair treatement clinic will tell you what many other clinics won't tell you: that hair loss is a complex issue and your results will vary depending on the care you get. If you choose a treatment like laser hair regrowth therapy, you will want to visit a reputable practitioner for best results that will address your individual hair loss situation.

So what are the top five things you should know when looking into laser hair regrowth therapy?

o When choosing a hair loss treatment, seek out a multi-therapeutic approach - While steady and effective laser hair regrowth therapy will make a difference in your hair, your best results will be seen using a multi-therapeutic approach. What does that mean? It means taking advantage of all the technology out there. What we know is that the major cause of male and female pattern baldness is the excess of something called DHT (Dihydrotestosterone) in the scalp. DHT effectively cuts off the nutrition of a hair follicle (oxygen, blood supply, nutrients.) With laser hair regrowth therapy the low-light laser penetrates this level of the skin, counteracting the DHT and allowing a richer blood flow to reach the hair follicle. But used in conjunction with a hair loss treatment such as DHT inhibitors like Rogaine, Propecia and/or Minoxidil with 5% saw palmetto can greatly improve the quality of the hair loss treatment. Products like these help to stop shedding in its tracks, giving the laser hair regrowth therapy a chance to work. Also, shampoos that inhibit DHT with products like saw palmetto and other DHT-blocking herbs promote a healthy scalp can improve circulation and overall effectiveness of laser hair regrowth therapy.

o Length of Treatment - Contrary to popular myth, use of laser hair regrowth therapy is not a one-stop shopping experience. It's a long-term hair loss treatment; a real commitment and results will not begin to be seen until a client has been using the clinic's low light laser for at least three months. That's partly due to the hair's life cycle. As new hair begins to emerge, it comes in thicker and stronger. But most successful clients make a commitment of between 1-2 years of office visits and then maintain their new, healthier hair with a hand-held home laser, an important and inexpensive part of the hair loss treatment.

o With laser hair regrowth therapy, the more diodes the better - Diodes are the little points of light emitted by a low-light laser. In a typical clinic low-light laser, there are diodes placed strategically in the curved surface of the machine that can treat the entire scalp at once. But make sure you look for the number of diodes your machine has. The more diodes, the better (more effectively) the laser will work. This is why, for laser hair regrowth therapy, hand-held lasers (which use fewer diodes) are preferred for maintenance, not the initial hair loss treatment.

o Consult an expert in laser hair regrowth therapy - There are many less-than-legit treatment clinics opening up, claiming to know the business. Anyone can purchase a low light laser and call himself an expert. But an expert clinic will employ both doctors specializing in treatment, and knowledgeable consultants on their teams. When you decide to look into laser hair regrowth therapy, be sure to check the pedigree of the clinic you're visiting. The laser hair loss experts you are seeking have been in business for a long time and have great reputations that are easily researched online. Experts at these treatment clinics can tell you exactly what you need and what will and won't work for your particular hair loss condition. Don't settle for less than the best.
