The whole process is usually done in an hour. As for the effects? If the client has religiously followed his or her attendant's suggestions with the number of sessions required for a successful laser treatment, the former can usually expect the effects of the treatment to last for a year.

Can Anyone Undergo Laser Hair Removal?

African-Americans and persons with hair color lighter than their complexion will not be admitted for this treatment as their skin will tend to absorb more rays than what it usually needed for the purpose of hair removal, making the process dangerous. However, new and innovated laser technology has given rise to new laser hair removal treatments made especially for people with hair color lighter than their complexion.

Is Laser Hair Removal Treatment Better Than Electrolysis?

Electrolysis has better results compared to laser treatment. However, electrolysis as a treatment is more expensive than laser treatment and takes a longer time for the whole procedure to finish.

What Are The Parts Of My Body That Can Be Admitted For Treatment?

Most people have their backs, underarms, chests, thighs, arms, upper lip, and bikini lines treated for laser hair removal as these are the most common parts of the body with unwanted hair. Most clinics don't perform laser hair removal on areas near the eyes such as the brows as this can be dangerous.

Beta Carotene can be found in foods with Vitamin A such as carrots. Beta Carotene gives a yellow or orange effect on the skin and prevents the laser rays from being absorbed into the hair follicles. To have an effective and successful hair removal treatment, it is advisable to keep away from diets with high Beta Carotene.

Clients scheduled for treatment are required to avoid extreme exposure to sun as well as to avoid food with high Beta Carotene content. Body parts that will be subjected to the treatment should also be shaved three days before the schedule. The attending doctor will give the client specific instructions and may prescribe creams to make sure that the effects of the treatment will last. Clients undergoing or about to undergo laser hair removal treatment should follow these instructions religiously.

Laser Hair Removal Warning - Blonde and Red Hair, Know the Fitzpatrick Scale and Modern Technology

Most people are unaware that both the color of your hair and the pigmentation of your skin can have a huge effect on the results of laser hair removal. So knowing what type of pigmentation you have can go a long way towards making your laser hair removal treatment successful.

The fact is that any laser hair treatment - even older ones - can temporarily stop hair growth in most every color of hair except in non-pigmented hairs (pure white hair). However with older technology laser systems patients never really saw the permanent hair removal that they were looking for. This often means that they would have to be on a treatment cycle that would last about 2 months before needing to be repeated.

How Doctors Classify Your Skin And Hair

If you are looking at laser hair removal, then education is your best fried. Most laser hair removal treatment facilities use the Fitzpatrick Chart to determine which hair and skin pigment you have. This is simply a way to classify your physical traits so that the effectiveness of certain treatments can be calculated. The Fitzpatrick Chart is a six level indicator with the following descriptions:

TYPE I: Very pale and prone to burning, never tans.

TYPE II: Very sensitive to sun, often burns, hard to tan.

TYPE III: Sensitive to sun, sometimes burns, tans slowly to light brown color.

TYPE IV: Not particularly sensitive to sun, rarely burns, tans to moderate brown.

TYPE V: Not sensitive to sun, rarely burns, tans well.

TYPE VI: Insensitive to sun, never burns, deeply pigmented.

Knowing your Fitzpatrick rating will allow you to intelligently discuss your treatment options with the clinics you check out.

Old Laser Hair Removal Equipment

Laser equipment is expensive which means that clinics will often not change out to modern technology unless their current system is malfunctioning. This means that if you are low on the Fitzpatrick scale you will need to find a clinic that has up to date systems that can actually get results. Otherwise you will find yourself in a crazy maze of up-sells where the clinic will sell you on additional treatments and reschedules to cover up the fact that their old technology simply cannot produce results for you.

Effective Laser Hair Treatment on Blonde And Red Hair

Ok so you know your Fitzpatrick rating and you are aware that technology plays a key role in hair removal success now you need to move on to finding the clinic that can best help you.

First off FDA-authorized happinesslifetime.com laser removal clinics are the minimum standard you need to achieve, and thankfully most clinics are approved through the FDA. However for blondes and red heads this is not enough. You will need to find a clinic that has modern laser systems as well. These newer systems have precise control over the exact wavelength of the laser and therefore offer a greater degree of accuracy. The clinics that have this type of technology are able to fine-tune the laser treatment to meet the demands of any type of skin and hair combination.

Top brands of laser systems to look for are

Epilight(TM) System

Elos(TM) System

The latter system uses a novel combination of laser and radio wave technology and is the cutting edge of the new "hybrid" laser hair removal systems.

Other options for laser hair removal for blonde hairs include hybrid systems such as the "ELOS" system, which merges laser technology with the use of radio waves.

Laser Hair Removal For Blonde And Red Hair

The fact is that if you are willing to do a little interviewing of clinics you can have a successful laser hair removal session whether you are blonde or red haired. Technology has and is changing and it is a bigger subject than we have space here to cover. Fortunately if you are looking for the latest and best information then there is a good resource for you. What Are The Side Effects Of Laser Hair Removal?

Quite often times, laser hair removal procedures are touted to be one of the most effective manners to remove body hair. The biggest advantage associated with the procedure is the swiftness - instead of waiting hours, the entire ordeal can be completed within minutes. The wavelength of laser beams is adjusted so that they act on the roots of the hair follicles. Unlike the other hair removal procedures, the hair growth does not resume after a certain preset time. In other words, this is one of the permanent methods of hair removal.

Now, allow me to state some disadvantages of the same procedure.

a) Localized Pain - Although the procedure is advertised to be free of pain inducing elements, localized pain can materialize on the body part within days of completion. Well, this is an extremely rare situation but these days it is found in at least two out of ten people who opt for the same. If you experience mild pains, it is better to invest on some pain relieving skin creams. Alternatively, you can try cooling the affected region with ice packs for temporary relief.

b) Localized Swelling - At times, you might realize that the treated portion of the body swells for some days. In fact, this is often experienced along with the earlier mentioned pain. Improper wavelength of the laser beam is the primary cause of these problems. We cannot blame the beautician because they work according to certain guidelines provided with the unit - they do not realize that the texture and chemical composition of the skin can vary slightly among people. Only someone who is skilled at recognizing the various skin types will be able to operate the unit effectively.

c) Change in the skin color - Well, this is another side effect that is often noticed once the procedure is completed successfully. Usually people are known to experience reddening of the skin along with the formation of blisters (which will induce even more pain into the skin). If you see blister formation on the skin surface, it is wiser to contact a skin specialist and seek the appropriate treatment options. Else, you will have to face a tough time combating the situation. It is better to remain indoors until the blisters have healed - the outside atmospheric agents will act as catalysts that will highly augment your pain and suffering in the coming days.

d) Burning of the skin - Do not believe the words stated in the advertisements. Unless properly conducted, you will be left with burns all over the treated part. This is one of the reasons, why the procedure is often not recommended to people with darker shades of skin. The laser beam is programmed to act specifically on the roots of the hair. The melanin pigment present on the hair roots will be particularly affected (read burned). Melanin is present in abundance on the skin (of dark complexioned people) too. Instead of acting on the hair follicles, the beam will act on the skin and hence will induce burns!

Tattoo Removal Scarring - Can Tattoo Removal Creams Damage and Or Scar the Skin?

One of the biggest questions asked about tattoo removal often has to deal with the issue of scarring and skin damage. This is because there are numerous instances where consumers have considerably damaged their skin while trying to remove an unwanted tattoo. Unfortunately, many of these consumers used unsafe techniques such as using extreme dermabrasion tools or using powerful acids to remove the layers of the skin.

Both of these tattoo removal techniques are extremely dangerous and should never be performed.

However, in addition to unsafe tat removing techniques, options such as laser tattoo removal can also be dangerous in that they can leave an unwanted scar. This can be due to a variety of reasons such as not allowing the skin to heal properly before another treatment session, and or a technician using too strong a setting. Whatever the reason may be, the bottom line is that laser tat removal can result in severe damage to the skin including the possibility of leaving a noticeable and unwanted scar.

The Use of Tattoo Removal Creams

Using an over-the-counter tattoo fading cream to fade or help erase an unwanted tattoo is considered to be the safest way to get rid of a tattoo. This is because the best tattoo removal creams do not contain dangerous chemicals and do not require excessive exfoliation. While using a topical removal product will require the use of a skin exfoliation pad or device, this is meant to be a gradual process to ensure that using a topical product will not damage the skin. The ingredients used in the most popular removal products are strong enough to prevent new pigment from developing color which in turn will result in the fading of the tattoo. However, the ingredients used in these products are also very safe.

While using a cream or gel based removal product will take some time to get rid of an unwanted tattoo, they are the least expensive, least painful, and least risky option which is exactly why they have become so popular over the last decade.

Once consumers realized that topical products were effective and affordable, they became extremely popular which explains the variety of tat removal serums sold online today. It should be noted that while most tat removal products are safe, some still rely on dangerous ingredients which is why it is always important to check the ingredients of each potential product. For example, tattoo removal creams or gels that contain Hydroquinone or TCA should be avoided. Hydroquinone has been linked to cancer and has been banned all over the world. TCA is a strong acid which removers layers of the skin. While some tat removing companies dilute the concentration of TCA, it is still risky and can easily result in the scarring of the skin.

In conclusion, it is important to be aware that many of the available removal options can result in substantial scarring. While many with unwanted tattoos are anxious to remove their body art, it is still important that the safety of one's skin and overall health is considered.

Hair Loss Medications Vs Laser Hair Therapy For Inherited Hair Loss

Hair loss medications are the traditional treatment, laser hair therapy is the new kid on the block. Which method is better to treat androgenic alopecia (inherited hair loss)?

We all shed hair during its release phase in the hair growth cycle. But if we are shedding more than 100 or so hairs per day we may be on our way to thinning, patchy growth or male or female pattern baldness. Prescription medications promise a full head of thick, shiny hair...but what are the realities of this treatment method? There are two main medications that treat hereditary hair loss. Propecia (Finasteride) is delivered in a pill taken once daily. It is not FDA approved for women, however and in fact should not even be handled by women who are pregnant or who may become pregnant. That eliminates many hair loss clients. Rogaine (Minoxidil) is a non-prescription spray that is rubbed into the scalp twice a day. For men this may not be such an issue, but for women keeping a clean, styled head of hair (even a thinning one) is a must every day for our self esteem. Both of these medications slow the thinning of hair, grow new hair and thicken the shaft of existing hair. Both work on the crown and top of the head, but not along the front forehead hairline. Minoxidil works best on people younger than thirty. This cuts out the baby boomer population from getting the best results.

The low level light therapy (LLLT) delivered in a laser comb or brush is applied to the scalp in any target area for only 15-20 minutes 3 times per week. This laser treatment is used in conjunction with healthy vitamin supplements, non-sudsing shampoo and non-buildup conditioners. A pre-cleansing treatment, amino acid nutrient and shower water filter all will add to the positive results. As with the above medications, it can be taken with you on business trips or vacations, and can be used in the privacy of your own home. Use of a laser brush is side effect and danger free and is completely safe for women. It also has an initial outlay of a few hundred dollars and uses rechargeable batteries. The "extras" of shampoo, conditioner, etc. would need to be purchased anyway over time. The above medications are much more expensive as medical insurance does not pay for any of these hair loss drugs, and they must be taken continually in order that the hair that is re-grown remains.

Since side effects are non existent with the use of the laser hair brush, any side effects from taking either of the above medications are a negative. Minoxidil users may exhibit skin irritation or itchy scalp. Heart patients must ask their doctor before using this drug. Female users may experience growth of facial hair on the forehead or cheeks. Rogaine users (women are not permitted to take this medication) may include lack of sexual function.

As with the laser hair comb, either of these medications may not work and visible results may take from 4 months to a year. With medications they must be used every day. The recommended use for the laser brush is 3 times a week but for 15-20 minutes each time. Time to take a single pill per day is not much, but using a spray or cream on the scalp twice a day is very time consuming, especially when you take into account re-styling time.

The only risks to stopping the use of the nutrevehairloss.com/Low-Level-Laser-Therapy laser comb or either medication are recurrence of the original hair loss, and then continued loss. Of course our self-esteem and mental health may be compromised if loss of hair or thinning hair is important to us. Thick, shiny hair is one of the things that determine a youthful appearance, and in this time of aging baby boomers trying to maintain a young, healthy look, the market for happinesslifetime.com hair loss treatments is huge.

Each one of us needs to determine the cost, risk and appearance factors for ourselves. With the above information and more research into the use and effectiveness of medications vs. the technology of a laser comb, we have taken the biggest step toward choosing a hair loss solution which is best for us.

Laser Hair Removal Side Effects and How to Prevent Them

Like any medical procedure, laser hair removal has the risk of side effects. They range in seriousness and severity and can be either temporary or permanent. No matter the degree they are all serious and should be avoided whenever possible.

The most common side effects of laser hair removal are skin irritation and redness. This side effect usually goes away shortly after the treatment session is finished. Such side effects are more nuisance than dangerous, causing discomfort and moderate pain.

Other, more serious, side effects include burning, scarring and skin discoloration. The burns can be extremely painful and last for quite some time. This side effect usually occurs if the laser is set at a level that is too high or if the treatment is applied for longer than it should.

Scarring is usually a result of burns or blisters that occur when treatment is misapplied. This side effect is not usually painful, but can be permanent. Depending on the severity of the scars, they can cause patients to become self-conscious, especially if they're on the face.

Skin discoloration is a discoloring of the pigment that makes up the skin tone. This is usually due to the laser targeting the skin rather than the hair follice. If there is too little contrast between the two the laser will treat them the same, essentially burning the skin along with the hair follicles. This side effect can be permanent, and if it does go away it's usually takes quite a long time to do so.

Preventing Laser Hair Removal Side Effects

The most effective way to prevent laser hair removal side effects is to be sure your skin characteristics are suitable for treatment. If your skin tone/hair color contrast is not very high, you may want to re-examine if laser hair removal is for you.

Those with tanned skin should wait until the tan fades before undergoing laser hair removal treatments. The tanned skin is more likely to burn and cause blisters.

There are some creams and lotions that can be applied to help prepare skin for treatments as well as help it to recover post-treatment. See your doctor for more information on those creams as well as their consult when deciding if laser hair removal is right for you.

Laser Hair Removal Can Be Your Best Solution For Eliminating Unsightly Hair

Laser hair removal is the process of using beams of light to paralyze hair follicles and thus reduce hair growth. The light, or laser, leaves the surrounding skin undamaged. Laser hair removal is the only practical and proven way to easily remove hair from large areas. It can be used precisely for small areas and it is extremely cost effective. The best candidates for permanent hair reduction through the use of lasers are people with light skin who have dark hair. That is not to say that it is necessarily ineffective in other cases but fair skinned people generally require fewer treatments over a shorter period of time.

Once you have decided that laser hair removal is right for you, you will need to do a little homework to find the right treatment center. A key consideration is what type of equipment the center uses. You want to distinguish between those that use lasers versus IPL (Intense Pulsed Light) treatments. IPL treatments are not actually lasers and the treatments are more effective for skin treatments rather than permanent hair reduction. When you look for laser solutions to removing hair, be sure to find a center that utilizes true lasers rather than IPL.

In terms of the cost to have laser treatments to remove hair, your exact price will depend on how large the area you would like to have treated is and how many treatments you require. As you research your options for laser treatments you will find many laser treatment centers in your area. Once you have narrowed your list down to several in your area you should contact each for specific pricing. Many laser hair removal centers provide online forms that will allow you to gather pricing information without even calling. As with any medical treatment you should be aware of possible risks and side effects. Fortunately, reports of difficulties resulting from the process are rare. You should discuss the possible side effects with your professional hair removal treatment professional.

With the technology we have available today there is no reason that you should continue to be embarrassed or self conscious due to hair growth. You can find a hair removal process that will effectively help you with permanent hair reduction. Laser hair removal is a cost effective and practical way to help you improve your looks and increase your self confidence. Don't you owe it to yourself to see if laser hair treatments are right for you?

Laser Face Lift - Don't Get Burned

A laser face lift is one of the many non invasive face lift options that exist to decrease wrinkles and tighten the skin for a younger and healthier look.  It is similar in some ways to a chemical skin peel, but more controlled and effective.  Like many other non invasive face lift procedures, it works well in only certain cases, so careful consultation with a doctor is important if you want to get the results you're looking for.  And keep in mind that while the results can be very impressive, there is a rather long recovery period that you need to be prepared for.

As with dermabrasion and chemical skin peels, a laser face lift involves the uppermost layer of skin being burned off and then growing back tighter and firmer than before.  But it has a couple of marked advantages over the first two methods.  One of those is that the doctor can control the depth of the laser, resulting in a better effect that's custom suited to the patient's face and wishes.  A laser face lift also stimulates the collagen matrix beneath the skin and encourages growth, which gives a fuller and more youthful effect instead of simply reducing fine lines and wrinkles.

The results of a laser face lift can be rather dramatic, but it only works well for certain candidates.  If you are fair, with light skin that is not oily or acne prone, you would probably do well with it.  But it is not recommended for people who have darker or problematic skin, as they can end up with permanent changes in pigmentation.  A laser face lift is also more effective when used to treat horizontal forehead creases, lower eyelids, fine cheek wrinkles, and fine creases around the lips.  In general, it does less for very deep creases and indentations, and in certain areas like the upper eyelids and the neck.  If these are areas of concern for you, you would be best off looking into a different sort of non invasive face lift.

Recovery from a laser face lift comes in stages.  The first week or two is the hardest, and the skin is painful, sensitive, and discolored during this time. It will also crust, but after about a week that will stop and it will turn bright pink.  Only once the bright pink fades to light pink will you be able to cover it up with makeup.  And it will be a full six months that you'll have to stay out of the sun.

This is one of the biggest drawbacks to a laser face lift.  There is nothing discreet about it, and it can actually be quite embarrassing to walk around with what looks like a terrible sunburn for a month or more.  While a laser face lift is one of the more popular types of a non invasive face lift, there are options out there that impact your life a lot less.

A myfaceliftadvisor.com/nonsurgical-face-lift/laser-face-lift-is-it-worth-the-recovery laser face lift costs around $2,250, and another similarly priced non-invasive face lift, the myfaceliftadvisor.com/nonsurgical-face-lift/thread-face-lift-a-new-technique-with-astonishing-results thread face lift, has a much shorter recovery period. But the bottom line is that you will need to meet with your plastic surgeon to discuss what method is best for you and your needs.

Many Ways to Skin a Cat and Get Smooth Skin

It has long been thought that hair is unattractive on females. Thus began the war of women with unwanted hair, going through method after method. There is perhaps no single best method of removing unwanted facial hair. However shaving is the one used the most, by both men and women.

A clean razor and a sharp blade are essential for a safe shave. Wet, soft hair is more suited for cutting than shaving. It has never been proven that shaving makes hair grow faster, thicker, or darker. Be that as it may, bumps are a reality that come from shaving too closely and forcing new hair to have to pierce through the skin. The interval between shaves can be a few days, and as such many women have had to look for easier, longer-lasting techniques.

Tweezing and waxing pluck the hairs from below the surface of the skin. Since hair is removed below the skin's surface, regrowth shows through after a few weeks. While these two may be fast and inexpensive, they can also be painful. Many have experienced skin darkening and roughening with these methods. Because of skin irritation from trauma to the follicle, these side effects result.

As the hair returns, skin is irritated, forming bumps and scars. Waxing is the method most commonly used for hair on the upper lip or eyebrows.

Negative effects of this method include burns, allergic reactions, and other forms of skin irritation. With electrolysis, facial hair is removed for longer periods. The success of the procedure is dependent on the needle coming in close proximity to the follicle. It should not be used with curly hair, as this has proven disastrous, with additional scarring, irritation, and darkening.

To demolish hair follicles, it takes laser therapy with pulsating lights. The follicle's dark pigments suck up the pulses. With dark skin, light is similarly absorbed, causing irritation. Be that as it may, nowadays lasers are made with built-in cooling devices to keep lasers from affecting non-target areas. Results last longest with laser therapy.

No one promises that these results will last forever. Any hairs that manage a comeback will be fewer and finer. Three to four treatments, at four to six-week intervals, are all that's needed. For facial hair, it seems the best method is laser treatment.

Can a Laser Get Rid of My Wrinkles?

Since the dawn of the medical aesthetics era and the advent of lasers used for cosmetic enhancement and anti-aging procedures, patrons of happinesslifetime.com skin care spas have long been seeking a way to deal with their toughest foe: wrinkles. Fine lines and wrinkles are a fact of life most nearly everyone as we enter our thirties and beyond. I often hear people say that one day there will be a laser that will fix everything. For wrinkles, that day has arrived.

The physiological phenomenon that is at the root of the problem has to do with collagen. Collagen is what makes skin soft, supple, and, in combination with its counterpart elastin, tight and elastic. Often our skin is at its healthiest during our mid-twenties. By healthiest, I mean that our collagen is at its greatest density. As the aging process begins to take its toll, our bodys natural production of collagen begins to slow and create a decrease in the overall density of collagen in the skin. The net result is a tendency to develop wrinkles along with skin that becomes more lax.

How can a laser help to reverse this process? After all, a laser is simply a very pure and controlled form of light. Is it possible that light alone could somehow reduce wrinkles? The answer lies in the simple byproduct of light, which is heat. Research and development efforts have led to a new brand of laser technology that produces a specific kind of light that is very well absorbed by water. Collagen happens to consist of a large percentage of water. This specific form of light energy targets the water in the collagen in order to heat the water in a very controlled way.

This heat is applied in a specific manner in order to damage the collagen fibers. Enough light energy is introduced to the tissue to create this damage without actually destroying the collagen. The net result is that the body recognizes that these structures are injured, and it works to repair the area by increasing the production of new natural collagen. This will in turn increase the overall collagen density.

The creation of new collagen will fill in those fine lines and wrinkles, and help to return the suppleness and elasticity of the skin. As technologies have improved in recent years, there are now laser systems that claim to produce a twenty-five to forty times increase in the collagen density in the skin after a series of four to six treatments. All of this can be accomplished without pain, surgery, anesthesia, side effects or recovery time.

Until this point, topical products and other forms of laser or light energy have been used to pursue these effects, but have produced only minimal results. Injectable products such as collagen or synthetic fillers have also been utilized to help resolve specific problem areas. These remedies are only temporary, and require repeat visits to your cosmetic medical care provider.

Laser collagen synthesis services are not yet very widely available, but the incredible market demand will surely provide for an increased number of providers in the coming years. For more information, contact your local medical spa or cosmetic medical professional.

Permanent Laser Hair Removal - Fact Or Fiction?

Does the often-touted permanent laser hair removal treatment really exist? Is there actually a method for ridding oneself of unwanted, unsightly body hair forever?

The term "permanent laser hair removal" is commonly applied to permanent lessening of hair on a specific part of the body. They hair, while it may be significantly reduced, cannot be completely stopped from returning, especially as the hormonal changes which accompany the aging process occur.

What the permanent laser hair removal process actually can accomplish is the slow the re-growth of treated hair for several months, or in some cases, years. Most people who experience re-growth can have it removed with an additional permanent laser hair removal treatment one or two times annually; the initial treatment will normally include between six and eight sessions spaces between six and ten weeks apart.

The appeal of permanent laser hair removal is that the results are superior to those achieved from waxing, depilatories, tweezing, and shaving. Electrolysis has results comparable to those of permanent laser hair removal, but takes a much longer time to complete and is more painful.

Factors You Should Consider

Not all people will have satisfactory results from permanent laser hair removal, and should be screened before hand to determine if the treatment is suitable for them. Complexion and hair color, other medical conditions, the skill of the person performing the treatment, and the variety of machine used will all make a difference in the outcome.

Permanent laser hair removal machines operate by focusing a colored light beam thrown a liquid, gas, or crystal which amplifies the light in a narrow bandwidth which enters the hair follicle and is absorbed by the pigment of the growing hair. Dark hair will absorb more of the light's energy, so permanent laser hair removal is more effective on dark-haired individuals.

Because the laser light heats the hair shaft as it destroys it, lasers are normally equipped with cooling devices to avoid burning the skin in the area being treated.

Permanent laser hair removal machines include the Alexandrite, diode, ruby, and Nd:YAG models. The doctor who is overseeing your treatments will be the one to decide which is most appropriate for your case.

Side Effects

Side effects from permanent laser hair removal [bestlaserhairremovaltreatment.com/Laser_Hair_Removal_Prices/] treatments are usually temporary and insignificant. They may include swelling, itching, redness, and minor irritation in the area from which the hair is being removed. A few people may experience a temporary darkening or lightening of their skin, and if proper sanitary procedures are ignored, infection. Those considering the procedure can minimize their risk of side effects by taking the pre and post-treatment measures recommended by their doctors.

Laser skin care on the other hand is more effective than using creams. It uses laser to get rid of acne scars, warts, unwanted mole, age spots, wrinkles and many more.

There are various kinds of these types of treatment available depending on what problems to treat but in general the concept of laser treatment is destroying the layers that causes the problem and let the body regenerate a newer and better layer.

Keloid scarring is a firm, raised scars that extend beyond the initial wound area and build over time. Hypertropic scarring like the keloid is also firm, raised scars but only within the original wound location and can fade over time.

It can also be used to treat other problems such as moles, warts and brown spots. An individual can also get rid of wrinkles through the use of laser. Laser Hair Removal at Home - How Effective is it, Really?

Most women (and some men) have long been accustomed to ridding themselves of unwanted hair by either shaving or waxing. While quite uncomfortable for people with sensitive skin, there were few choices available to get rid of unwanted hair. Even depilatory lotions had issues involving skin sensitivity, not to mention the unpleasant odor and slimy residue. But all that changed with the advent of professional hair removal performed by people trained to do this type of work. As its popularity grew, more and more individuals took advantage of the convenience and relative comfort when compared to the old methods.

This efficient hair removal system has now gained more followers with the introduction of in-home laser treatments allowing people with unwanted hair the benefit of this time-saving treatment performed in privacy and comfortable surroundings. The in-home laser has never been so appealing, leaving you with more time doing things other than driving to and from a spa, gym, or office.

This simple system has taken a long time to reach the perfect balance of safety and convenience but it has come to that point and is now readily available in a lightweight appliance that can be held comfortably as it performs. The way it is done is to hold the apparatus over the area where the unwanted hair is growing. It doesn't take long before you will notice that hair in that area will just fall out. Additionally, prolonged use done on a regular basis at intervals of about twice month will result in some of the hair now reappearing. In fact, if this laser treatment is done over a period of eight months, unwanted hair can be all but eliminated in about 50 percent of its users.

When used appropriately the in-home laser treatment treats its user to a relatively pain free application. There have been few complaints but the most common ones are that the treatment is accompanied by a stinging feeling that is only temporary and goes away quickly.

There are some safety features that have been built into the lasers which make them very safe. For one, an alarm will go off if the laser is held for an extended period of time over one spot on the skin. There are also chemical creams that can be applied to the skin to give a cool feeling to the skin that is being treated. Some of the new and improved lasers also have a sensor that will tell you if you have an increased chance of burning.

Laser hair removal is not a new technology and has been available for more than 10 years in dermatologists' offices, and even in some high-end beauty salons and spas. This alternative offers convenience, privacy, and most important of all, the same hair removal success that was previously offered in those professional settings. Electrolysis was also a method that had been tried by many people but it failed to catch on because of the pain of inserting needles into the hair follicles. There is absolutely no comparison to that technique and the in-home laser method of hair removal.

To be honest, in-home laser hair removal treatments are not appropriate for all types of consumers. Some things that may cause the treatments to be less than successful are:

* This in-home method can not be used on the face, neck, or head.

* Dark-skinned people should not use the in-home laser because of the risk of skin damage.

* People who have light colored hair and fair skin will not experience success using in-home laser treatments.

Laser Hair Removal Secrets

Do you have unwanted hair?

Well, welcome to the club. Millions of people around the globe are facing the same problem.

So, are there any solutions?

Well the answer to this question is yes, there are various solutions to the removal of unwanted hair and each of them has its own benefit. Different solutions using different technologies, and each claiming to be the best solution for you, creates a great deal of confusion. One of the most popular of these techniques is Laser Hair Removal.

So does that mean Laser Hair Removal is the best technique?

This technique like all other techniques has its own benefits and limitations. Recently there was a case of women whose skin quite dark and she had undergone laser treatment to remove some unwanted facial hair. But she was unaware of the fact that skin which is dark in nature has the tendency to absorb a lot more laser energy and can cause some damage to the skin.

So the first rule is to know that if your skin is dark then you probably want use only specialized lasers and not the general laser treatments. In fact, you may want to consider talking to your doctor before the laser treatment begins, just to make sure.

How cost effective is the Technique?

The next and most general question that people ask is about the expense involved in having laser treatment. Generally, this depends on the area where the treatment is required. The cost is directly proportional to the surface area of the skin to be treated. This means that treatment for your legs will be more costly than your face.

Approximately, an average sitting should cost you anywhere from $200- $700 and you would probably require 3-4 sittings to get the removal completed. Yes, your hair removal generally is not complete in one session. To produce best results you require more than one sitting.

Fat Reduction Lasers May Decrease Hunger

Surgical fat removal treatments such as liposuction can dramatically reduce a person's weight and completely reshape their figure. But how long do the results last? One of the arguments that is often made against liposuction and other similar treatments is that they provide patients only with short-term solutions to their weight problems. If a patient continues to indulge in bad dietary habits after the surgery, all of the work done by the risky surgical procedure will be basically wasted.

Since the 1980s, researchers have been trying to come up with effective, non-invasive alternatives to surgery. Several procedures were approved for use by the FDA in the last few years. Laser technology seems to hold a great deal of promise for the future of non-invasive fat removal, and some of the benefits of laser treatments may even go well beyond just short term results.

How Laser Fat Removal Works

There are several different kinds of laser procedures. One of the most popular involves inserting a tiny, laser optical fiber into the targeted body area. This is done via a small skin incision, small enough not to leave a scar nor require a long recovery period. The small laser deliver energy directly to the fatty cells. The fat cells melt and are absorbed by the patient's lymphatic system and are then flushed away naturally.

Furthermore, lasers avoids one important side-effect of traditional fat removal procedures: loose skin. After a liposuction treatment, the patient is often left with loose skin. Laser fat removal, however, leaves behind less loose skin. This is because the laser heat that melts the body fat also causes the collagen fibers of the skin to contract. The skin thus tightens and adjusts better to the body's new shape.

Can it Reduce Hunger?

New research has shown that in some instances, laser fat removal treatments can actually help patients curb their hunger. How does this work? According to Steve Shanks, president of Erchonia Medical (one of the leading medical laser manufacturers in the U.S.), certain laser treatments help to reduce the hunger-hormone leptin. By reducing leptin levels, the treatment helps patients control their appetites better, making it easier for them to stick to a healthy diet.

The phenomenal results of the erchonia.com/laser-breast-augmentation Erchonia's breast augmentation laser study has proven through 105 patients that low-level lasers have an effect on pain deep into the body when compared to placebo.

Laser Surgery for Legs - The Facts

More and more women are seeking alternatives to the constant maintenance of their body hair, especially through the leg area. Many women are finding that they are forced to shave their legs daily in order to maintain their smooth skin and are sick of the irritation that can be caused by the constant shaving.

Are you looking for an alternative to shaving your legs? Are you looking for a way to get smoother and softer skin and reduce the hair growth in the future? Perhaps you should consider laser surgery for the hair removal through the legs, as it can also slow the growth of the hair in the future, allowing you to stop worrying whether you have stubble on the legs.

Laser surgery often takes multiple sessions in order to stop the hair growth completely through the leg area and

After three treatments most patients can expect a fifty to seventy percent reduction in the hair growth through the area that has been treated. This includes through the hair that is seen on the legs currently, but also a reduction in the growth of the hair in the future.

It is important to remember that the hair on the legs is often subject to years of shaving and is coarse; therefore the amount of sessions that may be required in order to see the expected results may be increased. Keep this in mind while measuring the results from the session, as well as developing your expectations for the laser treatments for hair removal on the legs.

Laser Hair Removal - Basics

If you are wondering what lasers hair removal is then you've come to the right place. It is using a laser for hair removal in a method that works by applying a beam of light and allowing it to pass through the skin. This beam targets melanin, a dark pigment. The beam further works to reach deep beneath the surface of the skin to the hair follicle and destroying the follicle all together.

happinesslifetime.com Laser removal of hair should immediately slow hair growth but will require a few treatments in order to keep hair from coming back (or at least greatly lengthen the amount of time it takes for this to happen).

How does it Work?

Long term results are achieved by targeting the laser's beams on the hair follicle and sending it a signal that sends it into a period of rest. The laser produces a very high energy light that targets the melanin (or dark pigmentation in the hair shaft) and goes to work.

The expertise in laser hair removal comes into play because the work needs to be done without causing any lasting damage to the skin's surface. This means that the light needs to be applied long enough to achieve the desired result beneath the surface but no so long that it can lead to damage the skin. One reason that it is difficult to treat darker skin tones for hair removal purposes. There are multiple lasers that are designed to address specific needs. You may find that your treatment is a little different than your friend laser for hair removal treatment.

It is very important when receiving laser hair removal treatments that you find an experienced and qualified practitioner to perform your treatment. There are too many things that could go wrong if you do not choose wisely whom you will allow to perform your treatments. Inexperienced users could cause damage that will be far worse than the original condition that encouraged you to seek treatment in the first place.

How Many Treatments Will You Need?

The answer to this is going to vary on an individual level. There are many factors that will determine this and not all of those factors are things that can be seen at a glance. Chances are very good that you will need more than one treatment though. You may be able to schedule your treatments further and further apart though with each additional treatment. Be prepared to plan a lifetime of maintenance for optimal laser hair removal treatments. These visits may be as long as a year apart but will help you maintain the results for as long as you continue the follow up treatments.

Lipo Laser Revolutionizes Weight Loss

Who doesn't need to lose some fat, here or there or maybe everywhere. Lipo laser is relative new technology that "zaps" the fat out of your fat cells and then your body excretes it on its own. No pain, no needles, no surgery and no downtime.

Here is what lipo laser can do for you:

The cold laser is a small machine that can help you lose 3 to 9 inches off your waist, thighs, and hips and drop pant and dress sizes. There is no anesthesia, no incision, and no pain. While you relax, the cold laser zaps away fat without burning your skin. You get a few treatments, depending on your size, of 40-minute treatments in 2-4 consecutive weeks. The procedure is pain free and costs less than an invasive weight loss surgery such as liposuction. Lipo laser is a great alternative to liposuction and vaser lipo.

How does the lipolaser work?

The laser liquefies fat within fat cells and then discards it into the open space between tissues. Your body's natural detoxification process flushes out the discarded fat. The laser shrinks fat cells, not dissolve them, which means during and after treatments you must exercise and keep a healthy diet to prevent weight gain.

Dark Skin Hair Removal - Safe Treatment Options

The laser hair removal method works by turning light into heat. When light energy is absorbed by dark matter it is turned to heat. When the laser light is used on people with pale skin and dark hair, the laser energy reaches the hair (which is dark) the light energy is turned into heat, and the hair heats it up till the point it is destroyed.

Even in these cases (pale skin dark hair) laser light is so intense that it can cause redness, swelling and soars to the skin. The heat can cause burns when laser is used too often on the same spot, in such cases scarring can occur.

The problem for people with dark skin is that the laser light is absorbed by the skin epidermis (upper layer) and skin dermis (deeper skin layers) and not reaching the hair. For people with dark skin tone the intense laser energy will turn immediately into heat and burn the skin so deeply that flesh burns may occur.

Before doing a laser hair removal process at home, the skin tone should be checked. There are 6 types of skin colors also known as Fitzpatrick Scale. The first 2 types of Fitzpatrick scale are the pale tones which burn easily when exposed to the sun. Types 3-4 are yellow to olive tones, which can tan to brown when exposed to the sun.

Dark skin 5-6 in the Fitzpatrick scale are the Afro-Americans skin types, these are dark brown to black skin colors. Until not so long ago these types of skin tones were not allowed any use of home laser hair reduction systems.

To make sure the home laser systems are not being used on dark skin tones, the manufacturers had to add special 'skin tone' safety locks. In the two leading machines the TRIA laser and the Silk'n SensEpil (IPL) color tone sensors prevent the pulse of laser or IPL to flash if the tip is pressed on a tone darker than the type 4 tone.

Afro-Americans did not have any solution for body hair treatments at home (by IPL or laser). There was always the option to visit to the skin center for professional hair removal with laser, but with the price tag of $2500 for body hair removal, it left millions of dark skin people with no solution.

This situation has been changed lately, when the skin aesthetics company Syneron brought a new hair removal solution, the Elos technology. The Elos hair removal technology is a breakthrough for dark skin people.

The new home hair removal system is called 'Me my Elos' it is based on two technologies, IPL + RF (radio frequency). The Elos by combining two technologies which work in synergy. First there is a low power IPL flash which pre-heats the hair, and then a short RF wave which destroys the hair completely.

Because the IPL light is deceased compared to regular IPL machines, the 'Me my Elos' Is safe for dark tone people. People with 'type 5' skin tone (dark brown) can now save thousands and remove hair at home safely with the new ELOS technology device.

Erbium Laser Resurfacing - Wrinkle Reduction Procedure

What is Erbium Laser Resurfacing?

The Erbium laser is a one of the latest tools employed in the treatment of wrinkles, acne scars, aged and sun-damaged skin. The Erbium laser provides a method of skin resurfacing this utilizes the cool light of the Erbium laser. The results of this method are less post-procedure redness, less swelling and a greater turn around in healing time than with other laser skin resurfacing methods. All of this culminates in the Erbium laser being a more accurate and less painful method of restoring one's skin to its more youthful appearance.

Length and details of the Erbium Laser resurfacing procedure

In the Erbium Laser Resurfacing procedure a small area of the skins surface is heated with the cool Erbium laser which in turn vaporizes superficial damaged skin cells and resulting in the thickening of the skins collagen. Laser Resurfacing is sought after for its ability to aid in reducing the surface damaged caused by acne, facial scars, fine or emerging wrinkles.

The length of the Erbium laser procedure varies from 15 minutes to slightly more than an hour depending on the individuals needs.

To minimize on discomfort a local anesthetic may be employed, for some erbium laser resurfacing procedures.

As this procedure is performed in an outpatient environment, almost all patients can return home the same day.

Healing is more rapid because the Erbium laser results in decreased redness, swelling, and bruising associated with laser resurfacing.

In most procedures, patients are able to fully recuperate within 7-10 days. Make-up can be worn after the first week. At this point patients may return to regular activities with consideration kept in mind of the skins ongoing healing. The use of sun block on treated areas is recommended when in the sun. Over the next several weeks, the pinkness of the exposed skin will lighten to reveal the normal tone, yet with a softer, smoother, and younger appearance.

Risks and/or complications related to Erbium Laser Resurfacing

The Erbium laser resurfacing procedure produces a smaller number of undesired effects and complications than other laser resurfacing procedures. With this in mind some adverse effects are to be anticipated and should be misconstrued as complications. Some minor adverse effects of laser resurfacing may consist of transient erythema, edema, and pruritus. Prior laser resurfacing treatment may also prolong the healing process.

What is the cost of Erbium Laser Resurfacing?

The price of an Erbium Laser Resurfacing will depend on your individual needs. It will also very on your geographic location. The national average cost of an Erbium Laser Resurfacing procedure runs from $1500 for a single area of focus to $3300 for a full facial treatment.

Will my insurance cover an Erbium Laser Resurfacing procedure?

Because an Erbium Laser Resurfacing procedure is considered an elective procedure, insurance usually will not cover the operation.

Skin Tightening Treatments - Do Non-Surgical Methods Work?

All of us over 30-40 see our facial skin start to loosen and sag, and many of us wish or skin could be tighter and more youthful looking. Skin tightening treatments such as Thermage, Titan, Refirme, LuxIR and others are often advertized as a non-surgical face lift. However, an objective comparison of a well performed surgical face lift with the results of a non-surgical skin tightening treatment reveals that the best skin tightening treatment achieves only 20-30% of the standard face lift result. Skin tightening results on the tummy and arms are at best 20% of what can be achieved surgically with a tummy tuck or arm lift.

Newer, but more invasive, subcutaneous laser treatments are achieving significantly better skin tightening than the currently available surface treatments using Thermage, Titan, Refirme and Lux IR, in my experience. I predict that the new laser technology will continue to improve and gradually replace the older surface technology which utilizes radiofrequency and infrared energy to tighten skin.

How Do Skin Tightening Treatments Work?

As our skin ages it loses elasticity. Elasticity is what holds our skin tightly to our face and body. Elasticity depends on collagen and elastin, two components of the deeper layer of our skin called the dermis. The elastin and collagen responsible for tight skin are found in the deepest part of the skin, just above the fat layer which lies beneath our skin.

When collagen is heated to 66 degrees centigrade, the collagen contracts and the skin is tightened. This is called remodeling and occurs over many months after the collagen has been heated.

The method of all these machines is to heat the deep collagen of the skin to cause contraction of the collagen and remodeling, which causes skin tightening. To accomplish this deep skin heating, radiofrequency energy (Thermage), infrared energy (Titan, LuxIR Deep), or a combination of both (Refirme) is passed into the skin to heat and remodel the collagen. These machines have sophisticated cooling devices to cool the surface of the skin to prevent a burn while the energy is passed through the skin into the deep dermis.

How Effective Are These Treatments?

These infrared and radio frequency based treatments do tighten the skin. However 3-4 treatments scheduled 4-6 weeks apart are usually required for a visible result. In my experience a 20-30 % result is the best I can achieve.

The most telling example of the benefit, in my experience, is that I have to show a patient a before photograph next to a 6 month after photograph for the patient to see the difference. This is decidedly different from a face lift or tummy tuck result which the patient can appreciate a marked improvement in skin tone immediately after surgery.

What Do These Treatments Cost?

Costs vary, but typically treatments cost about $1000.00 per treatment. Four treatments are usually discounted to $3500.00. In my experience, four treatments are necessary to see the best result.

What New technologies are on the Horizon?

New laser liposuction methods are producing remarkable skin tightening in addition to dissolving fat. Objective data as to percentage of skin shrinkage following laser liposuction treatments are not yet available. However, in my anecdotal experience, I am seeing very significant, visible skin shrinkage after laser liposuction treatments, and results have been maintained at least eight months, which is the longest experience I have to date.

The new laser technology is not truly non-surgical but is certainly minimally invasive. A small laser fiber is placed beneath the skin into the fat. Heat from the laser dissolves the fat and tightens the skin.

I assume that I am seeing better results because the laser energy is being delivered more closely to the deep collagen and elastin layer of the skin which is where skin elasticity resides.

My prediction is that this new minimally invasive technique will gradually replace the current transcutaneous (from on top of the skin) technique used by the radio frequency and infrared techniques mentioned earlier.

How to Decide Which Method is Best for You

I must admit my prejudice-I am a board certified plastic surgeon and my goal is always the best result for the patient. Currently if you have loose sagging facial skin and you want to look significantly younger, an expertly performed face lift will unequivocally give you the best result.

If you are adamant that you do not want surgery then I would recommend one of the non-surgical radio frequency or infrared methods. However I will warn you that you will need to study your face carefully to see the benefit.

I do use the non-surgical technique frequently around the mouth where face lifting is less effective. I also use the infrared device on the neck to treat recurrent laxity after a face lift.

If you are not in a rush, and are comfortable with the possibility of a minimally invasive procedure, which involves placing a small laser fiber beneath your skin, then I would wait. Undoubtedly, the new laser technology will continue to improve.

I am already achieving very nice tummy tuck type results using the new laser liposuction fiber technique on the abdomen.

Do You Want Your Tattoo Removed, The Laser Way?

Laser tattoo removal

Laser tattoo removal works on the principle of selective thermolysis where the targeted tattoo is exposed to the energy delivered by laser. This energy exposure results in selective destruction of the foreign pigment while ensuring minimum damage to the surrounding skin.

Lasers can be applied to remove all sorts of tattoos be it professional, amateur, cosmetic, medicinal, and traumatic tattoos. The different colors present in the tattoos may respond differently to laser tattoo removal, but they do get removed to quite some extent. Thus laser tattoo removal presents itself as a non-invasive and effective treatment for unwanted tattoos.

The right candidate

Anyone with a need to remove an undesired tattoo can opt for laser tattoo removal. It is not the person's physical characteristics which decide the extent of removal but the colors used. Though most tattoo colors can be eliminated or lightened more or less, skin colored tattoos may undergo irreversible ink darkening. This may be the case with white, pink, flesh-toned and light brown tattoo inks. Also red ink tattoos may turn black. In these situations do ask or say yes to a test dose.

Some Facts

Although, laser tattoo removal for sure is the best solution to the unwanted tattoo woes; it has got its warts which need to be kept in mind. Some of them are:

1. Since results are color dependent total elimination is not possible, however you can be sure of dramatic lightening. Amateur black tattoos respond more quickly than professional and multicolored tattoos.

2. To get maximum benefit multiple sessions are usually required.

3. Doubly treated tattoos may require additional treatments.

4. If the tattoo is multicolored, it would require exposure to lasers of several different wavelengths because of the selective absorption characteristics of a particular color.

Types of lasers used

Q-switched Ruby Laser (QSRL)

It is a red colored laser which works best for dark blue and black inks. With tattoos in these colors, results have been exceptional. So far as red and yellow color is concerned results have been less than satisfactory. The response of green tattoos is variable. The QSRL is also effective in treating medicinal and traumatic tattoos.

Q-switched Nd:YAG

This laser works both for amateur and professional tattoos of all colors. But best results have been observed in case of black tattoos, as is the case with the ruby laser. Moreover this laser works quite well for darker skinned individuals. Also unlike QSRL, which is ineffective in case of red and yellow color, Q-switched Nd:YAG is highly effective for these colors in frequency doubled setting (532 nm).

Q-switched Alexandrite Laser

This laser is quite like QSRL in treating tattoos especially when treating green tattoos. However up to 50% of patients can experience textural changes in their skin after treatment.

Flashlamp-pumped Pulsed Dye Laser

This laser does not penetrate deep into skin because of its wavelength which is 510 nm. Hence it is not so useful when it comes to deeper tattoos. However, it is effective for the treatment of brightly colored tattoos such as those that use red, purple, and orange inks. The major side effect of this laser is bruising.

Post-procedural Care

After the procedure some swelling and blistering is commonplace, so is crusting. So don't panic they will go by themselves after some time. Do take good care of the wound to aid the healing process and to prevent infection.

To ensure fast and safe healing, make use of prescribed antibiotic ointment with regular dressing changes. If you feel the need of alleviating any resultant pain, consult the physician to recommend you some pain killer. Also avoid exposure to sun to prevent tanning.

The Different Kinds Of Hair Removal Lasers

Do you think about throwing all your razors and depilatories and just dumping them? Are you sometimes bothered by the fact that you have to go to salon for your beauty maintenance? Well then, you might like the thought of having a laser hair removal. While certainly a pricier option than buying razor refills or getting a bikini wax, laser hair removal offers a more permanent solution.

Some people have too much hair because of their background. As for Mediterranean and Hispanic women, they have darker and thicker hair. As for Scandinavian women, they also have excess hair but you can barely see it thus it doesn't need a lot of removal process. Hormones cause too much hair on the face or chest for some women which is why these women want these removed. You need to make sure that before you undergo any laser treatment, you have to be in expert hands according to a Pennsylvania dermatologist. Hair would not grow once laser heats it, and thus the cells are divided which would then undergo apoptosis or cell death.

The different wavelengths of the hair removal lasers are absorbed differently by the skin and hair. The laser to be used for each patient depends on the patient's skin color, and the texture and color of the hair. You need to ask for a documented proof saying that the person who will be doing the procedure on you is a certified laser user. Better hire a well-trained dermatologist or supervised aesthetician nurse or physician's assistant to have your hair removed so as to avoid scarring, skin discoloration and burning of the skin.

When the skin is tan, it is more difficult to remove the hair that is why patients are advised not to be exposed under the sun. The basis of the well recommended laser systems that are out in the market are the four primary laser technologies. In addition, there is the light based technology too which is certainly called intense pulsed light. You will definitely get good results once a trained physician handles the treatment using the suitable device for you.

Ruby laser was the first laser which has been effective for hair removal. But now, you won't see ruby laser out in the market because it has been beaten by the shortest wavelength and newer technologies of today. The alexandrite laser is the next shortest wavelength laser after the ruby laser. Light brown hair can also be eliminated using this kind of laser.

Next type of laser that comes in two wavelengths is the diode laser. This type of removal laser is considered as the workhorse of all lasers wherein this is safe to use in every type of skin and hair types because of its longer wavelength. The dark skin pigment does not absorb this type of laser that is why this is safe to use for people with dark completion. Diode laser is best for ethnic skin types plus it can effectively remove dark hair.

In semi-permanent hair removal takes around 3 to 10 sessions depending on the hair and skin type before it is completely accomplished. Pigment is the target for the laser and light technology that is why if you have a very light and thin hair, don't bother to undergo this process anymore. If going to the salon for waxing has been your monthly routine, better ask your dermatologist first if it is safe for you to have laser hair removal. Having this kind of beauty tip can help you stay beautiful and neat.

Effective Skin Rejuvenation

With so many options out there today for skin rejuvenation how do we know which ones to pick? Which selection will really help to maintain that ever-coveted youthful glow? There seems to be a new product out on the market every month that claims to erase wrinkles, lift the chin and fade away stubborn scars like no product has ever done before, but consumers must be wary of schemes that promise instant results.

Society today is obsessed with younger looking skin. A fortune has been spent in doctor offices getting treatments like laser rejuvenation to reverse the signs of aging. Even celebrities are constantly searching for the newest and greatest skin brightening system to keep their skin looking and feeling beautiful.

Benzyol Peroxide, which is one of the most well known treatments of acne, has been found to contribute to premature skin aging. Though benzyol peroxide is usually more effective than antibiotics for acne bacteria, it can cause skin dryness, sensitivity and irritation which all can contribute to accelerating the aging and wearing process on the skin. If smaller dosages of benzyol peroxide can be used, it may help to preserve the protein fibers of the skin.

Elastin is a protein fiber in the connective tissue of the skin that allows the skin to resume its shape after being stretched or contracted. It gives young skin its smooth and firm appearance. The skin loses the abundance of this protein fiber over time as the body ages. Men and women tend to start losing elastin around age 25.

Collagen is the other fiber found in skin and in contrast resists stretching and provides structure to the skin. It is also found in scar tissue, and accounts for about 30% of the body's total protein. The loss of collagen as the skin becomes more aged is one of the main reasons that so many women are getting a mini face lift or other anti-aging procedures performed.

Both of these fibers can be found in facial skin rejuvenation products in an attempt to reverse the signs of aging and return skin to its original youthful splendor. It is wise to start with creams and low-dosage treatments to see how your skin reacts to new agents. Visiting a skin rejuvenation center or spa is a good way to learn about the different skin rejuvenation options available today including facials, acne facials, microdermabrasion, skin peels, botox and laser skin rejuvenation.
