Pros and Cons of Laser Hair Removal

If you have been considering the pros and cons of the laser hair removal process, you'll be interested in what this article has to say. That is especially the case if you've been using another procedures like waxing, depilatory creams, exfoliation, or electrolysis. It is certainly time to think seriously about the benefits of laser hair removal.

First, be aware that the treatments take a bit of time. If you want to have hair removed from a large area such as your chest, back or legs, it will probably not be possible to do it in just one session.

But also be aware that the laser process results in permanent hair removal. That is a very important consideration, because the actual time spent on treatments has to be weighed against the time spent day in or day out using other non-permanent methods such as shaving, depilatory creams, or waxing. All of these require regular repeat treatments because as soon as you remove the hair it starts growing back almost immediately.

Also be aware that compared to electrolysis - the other relatively popular permanent hair removal treatment - laser hair removal is much faster. Why? Because electrolysis requires a hair-by-hair, follicle-by-follicle treatment. A thin probe is inserted into each follicle which is then zapped with an electrical current strong enough to damage the follicle so it will no longer regenerate hair.

A similar process takes place with laser hair removal, but it happens much more quickly. A gentle, specially designed "laser" light source is passed over the treatment area. The light passes through the skin and only interacts with more darkly colored follicles. The follicles are heated by the light, and as with electrolysis, they are impaired so they are no longer able to regenerate hair.

This speed factor has a direct bearing on the cost. When it comes to removing hair from large areas of the skin there is really no comparison between happinesslifetime.com laser removal and electrolysis. In such cases electrolysis is a slow and methodical process that will inevitably be stretched over months of expensive treatments. happinesslifetime.com Laser removal, on the other hand, will take far fewer treatments, and will therefore cost much less.

Treatments on smaller patches of unwanted facial or pubic hair can be done in even less time. In many cases these treatments can be finished by a skilled technician in about 10 or 15 minutes.

When deciding on the most appropriate hair removal process for you, the best advice is to consult with a reputable provider who can evaluate your skin and hair type and recommend the best course of action. You may also want to have a test area done, especially if your service provider recommends it.

Healing from Home with Low Level Laser Therapy

Low level laser therapy is the latest trend in home healing. A type of laser therapy that once was only prescribed and administered in-office by doctors, therapeutic laser techniques are now making their way into the homes of individuals. Let's explore what low level lasers are all about and how they can help you reclaim your health.

What are Low Level Lasers?

Cold lasers use low levels of laser light with a low intensity to help reduce pain and inflammation, heal wounds, and help reduce the effects of aging. The laser light is the compressed light of a wavelength from the red, cold portion of electromagnetic radiation. It differs from natural light because it produces a precise color, it travels in a single, straight line (producing a single wavelength), and it is polarized, meaning its beam is concentrated to a defined spot or location.

A recent technology called the Scalar wave laser differs from many low level lasers in that the Scalar waves are unified field energy and do not have polarity. Therefore, Scalar wave technology has been profoundly effective for neutralizing chronic pain, stress, disease, and cell memory of any kind.

Low level laser light penetrates the skin's surface without causing a heating effect. It does no harm to the skin, and there are no known side effects. The laser's energy goes directly to the cells to promote healing from within. When low level laser therapy is performed, the light is applied to injuries or wounds. It is a "cold" laser light so no skin is burned. Low level laser therapy is often compared to acupuncture, but without the needles.

Other common terms for low level laser therapy include: cold laser, soft laser, and quantum healing laser.

How Can Low Level Laser Therapy Benefit You?

Low level laser therapy offers many practical benefits, and can sometimes even eliminate certain acute and chronic conditions. Some health conditions that might be helped include: arthritis, tendonitis, post-operative pain, lower back pain, migraine headaches, carpal tunnel syndrome, fibromyalgia, burns, swelling, acne, herpes simplex, soft tissue injuries, tennis elbow, and golf elbow.

Low level laser therapy can help relieve pain, strengthen and speed up the tissue repair process, increase the body's blood supply, develop muscle and collagen tissue, stimulate nerve function and the immune system, reduce inflammation, and promote faster clot formation and healing for wounds. Other benefits include lymph activation, laser acupuncture, happinesslifetime.com laser facelift, organ balancing, chakra balancing, and weight loss.

In-Home Low Level Laser Devices

It's easy to see how low level laser therapy can be a precious asset to your health. And to save you time and money, cold lasers, or soft lasers, are now available for in-home use. The devices are handheld and easy to use. They are digitally programmed for a variety of needs and to condition the light so it will be relaxing and therapeutic for each user.

In-home low level lasers are usually priced from $3,000, depending on the brand name and the features included. Companies vary in the types of soft lasers available, so look for a company that offers the latest soft or cold laser technology with plenty of information up front. You can easily find low level lasers online, but be sure to choose a well-established company. Look for a company that offers a guarantee, helpful training materials or DVDs, one-on-one assistance, and extra features such as pulsars to enhance your low level laser therapy experience.

Unleash the body's ability to heal itself and take a break from everyday stress with your very own low level laser therapy solution!

Noninvasive Hair Removal By Laser Equipment

Removal of unwanted hair has found itself a new meaning with the introduction of laser technology. Today, a number of laser equipments are available in the permanent the use of which can lead to permanent hair removal. These equipments do involve a certain degree of expertise but at the same time are effective and user friendly.

Of all the laser equipments that have been introduced, diode lasers have surfaced as the most popular means employed for hair removal. In Diode laser hair removal, dark terminal hairs are removed by using an 800-nm diode laser in a very effective manner. This laser operates at 800 nm, has pulse widths of 5-400 milliseconds, a 12 X 12-mm spot, a 2-Hz repetition rate and a cooling device. It is very safe for the darker skin types because of the longer wavelength, the active cooling, and the longer pulse widths. An extremely high-powered diode laser measuring about 3000 W has been approved for permanent hair reduction. Diode laser has been instrumental in providing permanent hair removal to almost 90 % of the people who have undergone treatment.

300-nm Ruby lasers are another type of unwanted hair removing laser equipment designed to be used on light skinned individuals with dark hairs. They operate in the conventional Q-switched mode for the treatment of tattoos and pigmented lesions and in the normal mode for hair removal. An integrated cooling device is used to cool the skin prior to laser pulse delivery to ensure proper effect. Studies have confirmed that a hair growth delay of 1- 3 months can be induced by treatment from ruby lasers. Additional studies with larger numbers of patients have confirmed that hair counts are reduced by approximately 30% after a single treatment with the ruby laser.

Alexandrite lasers are long pulsed and are being used for hair removal. Measuring 755-nm, they result in greater penetration of the skin in depth. Added with a longer wavelength, the ratio of energy deposited in the dermis is greater as compared to epidermis of the skin. It results in reducing the risk for epidermal damage in persons with darker skin types. This equipment is best suited for removing unwanted hair in all skin types.

Nd : YAG is a high-powered, 1064-nm Q-switched laser available for hair removal. It has very short pulse duration in the nanosecond range, a 4-mm spot, a repetition rate of 10 Hz. The high repetition rate delivers the laser pulses very rapidly thus covering large areas in a shorter duration. As a result, the operative time is significantly shortened. The longer wavelength makes it useful for darker skin types. Although capable of inducing a growth delay, its effectiveness for long-term hair removal is limited.

Recently, intense pulsed light systems have been developed that are combined with 1064-nm laser light. These devices should allow for treatment of a wide spectrum of hair and skin colors.

Removal of unwanted hair by laser technology is rapid, safe, and effective. Recent studies have confirmed the long-term efficacy of laser hair removal. The procedure is also attractive because of its noninvasive nature, its ability to cover a large treatment area, and the speed of treatment. With adequate training and instruction from a qualified physician, patients may even administer self-treatments for hair removal with small, light-based unit in a safe and effective manner.

Laser Tattoo Removal - How Effective Will it Be?

People are crazy about having tattoos on their bodies but there are times when they are desperately looking for tattoo removal. Teenagers particularly are obsessed with getting tattoos inked on their bodies. Middle aged people, looking at the strange-looking tattoos on the young ones often fall for the temptation of having tattoos inked on their bodies. Just as we have a lot of people getting married and a lot getting divorced, we find that many people want their tattoos removed, even as many others are obsessed with having tattoos inked on their skin!. Laser tattoo removal is a popular method of getting yourself rid of the tattoos that you once loved to mount on your body!

It will be interesting to study why people wanted to have the tattoos on them in the first instance and why they would think of laser tattoo removal subsequently. Having a tattoo inked on your body, though a physiological operation, has psychological overtones. Wearing a tattoo makes many people feel better. People also have the satisfaction of altering their skin, though only partially. People may also feel more confident and more powerful. But as with many things in life, the fascination wears out after a while and people want to get rid of their tattoos for good.

But I would like to confine myself to laser tattoo removal in this article. The reference to the psychological aspects is only incidental. After all, it is quite understandable that you want your tattoos removed. I appreciate your decision to have the tattoos removed for whatever reason and would like to help you with getting your tattoos removed using laser equipment.

Admittedly, laser tattoo removal is a safe and effective method but you need to take some precautions. Sometimes, the tattooed spot on your body may be affected by infection. This may happen due to various reasons. The ink used might have been of non-standard quality. The artist might have had skills deficiency or he might not have bothered to sterilize the skin before applying the ink. Sometimes the infection may be the result of the allergic nature of your skin.

But whatever may be the reason, the infection has to be cured before the laser tattoo removal. Sometimes, people decide to get their tattoos removed as a reaction to the development of infection. But infection can be cured and there is no justification for the overreaction. You may choose to live with your tattoo or you may opt for laser tattoo removal.

Though there are alternatives to tatoo-laser-removal.blogspot.com laser tattoo removal, the laser method is preferred because it is safe and can remove the tattoo completely

Laser Acne Treatments - Understanding Your Options

If you are considering happinesslifetime.com laser acne treatments, understand that they are usually recommended for severe cases of acne that do not respond to traditional treatment methods. Your first step should be to schedule an appointment with a dermatologist who can determine if the use of lasers would be appropriate for your situation. Once you've chosen a dermatologist and determined that laser treatments would be helpful in your situation, then you'll need to choose the type of laser treatment. Your dermatologist should help you choose the right option.

There are several kinds of happinesslifetime.com laser acne treatment, differing in the acne causes they target. You should choose the method that targets the main cause of your problem. For instance, if you have very oily skin, choose an approach that will stop the sebaceous glands from producing excess oil. This is one of the main types of laser treatments for acne used today. Specific lasers are targeted at the skin. When the laser beam enters the skin, the intense heat disables oil production in the sebaceous glands.

If you do not have overly oily skin, consider the other main kind of laser treatment for acne which targets the bacteria in the skin. With this blue light therapy, you will likely be given eight treatments over a four-week period, with each lasting about fifteen minutes.

If you have a lot of scarring due to your acne, consider the third major type of happinesslifetime.com laser acne treatments available. These types of lasers carefully remove thin layers of your skin, exposing healthy skin underneath the scars and blemishes.

A few of the different lasers from which you can choose include pulsed-dye lasers and infrared lasers. Pulsed dye lasers usually work faster, leading to fewer treatments to achieve the desired results. Infrared lasers are very effective, but may increase swelling or the risk of hyperpigmentation.

Because there are pros and cons of each laser choice, be sure to talk to your doctor. You don't need to make these choices alone. Your dermatologist can advise you on which of the many options would be right for your situation; this is one of the many reasons why it is important to choose an experienced doctor for this procedure. Since these lasers are so sophisticated, make sure that you find a doctor who is capable of adjusting all of the settings to get the best response from your skin.

Once you've undergone the first of your happinesslifetime.com laser acne treatments, you'll have the option of additional treatments. You can change the laser type to target another cause of your acne, or use the same method for additional treatments. The number of treatments is up to you. While you may experience results after the first session, many people undergo three or four sessions. After several sessions, most patients see a drastic reduction in their acne.

Laser Hair Removal and Costs

There are several different methods to remove unwanted hair. Most of these - waxing, shaving, using a depilatory cream - are only temporarily effective. For a more permanent solution, more and more people are now turning to laser hair removal. The cost can be high but not if it is seen as a long term investment.

The question most commonly asked by those considering laser treatment is "how much will it cost?" In fact the price depends on several variables. For the treatment to be effective, follicles need to be hit during their growth phase, thus several sessions are always needed (even for small areas) as growth phase varies from one follicle to another.

Some people balk at the high cost of laser hair removal - however it is no more expensive than electrolysis, nor is it more expensive than all those waxes, creams and razors if you calculate what these add up to over the years.

Anyway, there are five basic factors which affect the cost of laser treatment

1. The size of the area being treated. Smaller areas can be treated more quickly and hence will be cheaper .

2. The area you live in. Treatment tends to vary from place to place, just like the cost of living. Thus laser treatment in thriving cities tends to be more expensive than in smaller towns.

3. The number of sessions you need. Four sessions are normally sufficient but for particularly stubborn hair growth more are required.

4. Hair colour. This has an effect because the pigment in the hair absorbs the laser energy. This works most efficiently when your hair is a lot darker than your skin tone. Thus light skinned people with dark hair respond best to this treatment, whilst blond hair requires more sessions and thus tends to cost more.

5. Skin colour is also a factor. Very dark skin absorbs energy from the laser so really dark skinned people do not benefit greatly from this sort of treatment. It can also be dangerous for them as the laser energy absorbed by the skin pigment can lead to burning of the skin.

Smart Lipo - Laser Assisted Liposuction For Body Sculpting

If you are already fit and healthy, working out regularly and eating properly, it can be very upsetting not to able to shed those stubborn areas of fatty cells. But is it really worth putting your health at risk by having a general anesthetic given the risks associated? This is the dilemma a lot of people used to face. Add to that the significant pain, swelling and bleeding associated with traditional liposuction and it is easy to see why some people avoided it.

But with smart lipo you get all the benefits of traditional procedure with virtually none of the drawbacks. As the entire process is so much less invasive you don't need a general anesthetic so that risk out is eliminated. Laser treatment involves heat and this causes a number of positive side effects in liposuction. The amount of blood loss and trauma caused to the surrounding tissue is significantly reduced. The heat from the laser will cauterize the wounds thus reducing bleeding and swelling. This means that your recovery time will be so much faster than using the old version. You will be able to treat any pain with over the counter medications rather than the narcotic pain relief usually required by patients treated with ordinary liposuction.

The second benefit of the heat produced by the laser is that it causes a reaction in your body which stimulates the production of collagen. Collagen is the tightening tissue that we all need to keep our skin firm and supple. After having fatty cells removed under the old treatment, skin often became saggy. But due to this production of collagen, the skin will be smoother and usually tauter than before the procedure was done. The extra benefit is that this improvement in your skins texture and appearance continues for the next four to six months.

The less obvious attraction of smart lipo which is laser assisted is the fact that some procedures will not require the fat cells to be removed by suction. This does depend on the size of the area being treated, the location on your body and the skills of your surgeon. But for some people this has a physiological benefit as they cannot bear to think of a vacuum pump being used on their bodies.

A huge advantage with smart lipo is the fact that your risk of developing complications and requiring further surgery is significantly reduced. A tummy tuck usually follows traditional liposuction when used to treat this area as the saggy skin has to be removed. But this isn't necessary when laser is used. Also under the traditional form of treatment, skin infections were not uncommon whereas they are extremely rare with the newer and improved techniques. We don't yet know if the doctors who are concerned about the effect of fatty cells released by laser assisted liposuction on the liver are justified. Only time will tell but in the meantime the current advantages of the new treatment over the more traditional surgery are significant enough for most people to opt for smart laser liposuction.

Laser Hair Removal Side Effects

Lasers are the latest in hair removal technology. Even though the cost is high, people have grown to accept the treatment. In fact, lasers are seen as the best mode of hair removal today. However, the treatment does come with a fair share of side effects, at times with fatal consequences. In January 2005, a woman from North Carolina lost her life when she put received and excessive amount anesthetic cream before the laser treatment.

Edema (swelling of any organ die to excessive fluid) and erythema (redness of skin) are common occurrences post laser treatment. Some blisters may appear, mainly in darker-skinned patients, who could experience changes such as darkening or lightening of the skin that could last weeks or sometimes months. There is little risk of scarring or infection. However, if the blister is irritated there could be scarring. Clients may suffer loss of freckles, darkening or lightening of tattoo color and discoloration of moles in the areas of treatment. With the use the Ruby laser, there is a very minute possibility that a fever blister outbreak may take place, mainly when bikini areas have been treated.

It is imperative that people with certain medical conditions consult a physician before undergoing laser hair removal treatment. That category includes clients who have recovered slowly after having undergone previous treatments; clients with white/grey hair; patients susceptible to discoloration of the skin and pregnant women (even if there is no direct evidence to suggest that laser used for hair removal treatment can damage fetus). Laser hair removal can cause fever blisters, particularly on the upper portion of the lip. It is best to go under antiviral medication before the procedure. Tanned clients should wait for the tan to lighten for best results. Those under prescription of photosynthesizing medicine like Accutane, should stop the medication months before the laser treatment, Clients using Retin-A, Accutane or tetracycline should discontinue the medication several weeks prior to the treatment.

Laser Tattoo Removal - How Painful is it and What's the Cost?

The methods for removing tattoos have come a long way.  There was a time, not too long ago when getting rid of a tattoo meant surgery or processes that involved sanding or even acid. Ouch!  Well technology has advanced and the two most popular methods today involve using fade creams and lasers.

While the fade creams are popular, their effectiveness remains a big question.  That leaves laser technology-- which is considered the safest method and produces the best results for most people. But laser tattoo removal does not come without its drawbacks.  It can be expensive, very uncomfortable and still comes with the risk of possible scarring.

How painful is happinesslifetime.com laser removal?  That is different for each person, because every person has a higher threshold for pain.  It also depends on the parts of the body where the tattoo being removed is located. Areas like the toes and feet can be much more painful than other parts of the body.   The feeling having a tattoo removed by lasers is said to feel like a rubber band snapping over and over again in a very concentrated area.  To minimize the pain, some people prefer to have a topical numbing cream applied over the tattoo prior to the treatment.   The laser procedure actually goes pretty fast-just takes a few minutes for each visit.

The cost of having a tattoo removed with lasers will vary depending on the size, the type and color of ink that was used, how deep it has penetrated the skin, age of the tattoo and skin type.  More than one application is normally needed.   After each treatment you will need to give several weeks for the wound to heal before returning for follow up visits.  For complete removal it can take anywhere from just a few visits to more than a dozen.   This is only meant to be an estimate, but a 3 inch square tattoo, requiring 9 visits, can cost between $800 and $1,000.

Scarring associated with laser tattoo removal used to be more prevalent than it is today.  This procedure does not come without its risk for scarring, and you should always consult a dermatologist or medical professional first, but with the newer lasers the risk for scarring is much less common today.  The one factor that comes into play with scarring is the skin type of each individual.

Once you have found a few clinics the next step is to call and schedule a free consultation. Specifically request to speak with the doctor during your consultation. Write down any questions you have and take them with you. Too many times I went in with questions and if I hadn't written them down I forgot to ask them all. Educate yourself of the different laser hair removal systems and make sure the clinic has the latest in FDA approved technology.

Amazing Products And Treatments For Your Skin

During the time of our ancestors, maintaining a youthful and glowing skin needs a lot of hard work and commitment. There are so many activities you need to avoid, foods that you need to eat and beauty regimen that you need to follow to ensure that your skin is free of dark spots, wrinkles, and other blemishes.

Nowadays, however, it is relatively easier for you to take care of your skin. Due to medical and technological advancements in the fields of cosmetology and dermatology, men and women can now erase wrinkles and other skin imperfections through injections, creams, and various beauty tools.

Here are some of the products and treatments that will help you to attain a truly spectacular and blemish-free skin:

Sunscreen or sun block

The major cause of skin blemishes, discolorations and other skin problems is prolonged or direct sun exposure. Since the ozone layer, which is responsible for helping screen or prevent harsh rays from the sun to enter the earth, is already thinning, frequent and unprotected sun exposure will make your skin dry and scorched.

If you don't want your skin to have dark spots or to look like a raisin, you better find a high-quality sunscreen or sun block. You should ensure that the SPF (sun protection factor) of the product you will be using is not less than 30. Be sure to find a product that is specially designed to protect the face and another one for your arms and body.

Microdermabrasion

Another way to help make your skin clearer and fairer is through microdermabrasion. This treatment, which can only be done in a salon or clinic, is characterized by sand blasting your face and body with a tool that contains very small diamond-like particles. This works by slowly sloughing off dead skin cells.

However, in order to have a younger-looking and softer skin, you need to avail yourself of a microdermabrasion program, which usually entails 6 to 12 visits to the clinic or salon. Although the treatment is quite expensive, you are sure to have a brighter and more even complexion. If you have a severe case of sunburn or skin discoloration, this might not work for you.

Hydroquinone Treatments

If you want to stop the production of melanin, which is responsible for the dark spots on your skin, you might want to undergo special hydroquinone treatments, which can only be done in dermatological clinics. It is important to note that you should only use hydroquinone products under the supervision of competent dermatologists because this drug has many side effects. Just surf the Internet and you will see that there are a lot of people who have suffered from burns and other problems from using cheap over-the-counter products with hydroquinone as their active ingredient.

Laser and other light treatments

Skin pigmentation or discoloration can also be improved through laser or intense pulsed light treatments (IPT). The laser or IPT works by activating the skin's healing process in areas where pigmentation and discoloration are visible.

Over-the-counter products

Many products that are sold on the Internet and even in department stores or beauty shops are effective in helping protect your skin from photo damage and other skin problems. However, there are also some creams and ointments sold over the counter that cause more damage and problems. Thus, you need to be careful in choosing what is best for your skin type.

To be on the safe side, be sure to look for all-natural and hypoallergenic products. You should also stay away from very cheap products because they either lack the necessary ingredients to help you achieve a healthier looking skin or they contain elements that are not good for your skin.

One product that can help even out your skin tone and erase dark spots and blemishes is Lumnaderm. If you want to find out more about Lumnaderm, you can visit Lumnaderm.com Lumnaderm.com.

Hair Removal - Laser Hair Removal Vs Electrolysis

Thousands of women every year look to methods of getting rid of facial or body hair that they do not want. While both laser treatment and electrolysis are beneficial methods what is important is what the individual is looking for. Here are some questions that you must ask yourself when trying to decide between the two methods:

- How much money can you afford to spend on your treatment?
- How much time for visits are you able to commit to?
- Are you seeking a pain free method or could you cope with a method that involves a certain amount of pain?
- Are you seeking permanent results or would you be happy with temporary ones?

Electrolysis involves more discomfort than happinesslifetime.com laser removal and it can be time consuming and more invasive in nature. When you have this procedure done only one follicle is focused on at a given time. In order to completely be hair free in the area you want it can take as long as eight to 10 months.

You will have to have treatments once or twice a week to start but the frequency decreases as time passes and results become evident.

This method is somewhat painful because a tiny, metal probe is carefully inserted into the individual follicle. The probe releases an electric current or electric charge that goes right into the root and destroys it. The three main kinds of techniques used include thermolysis, galvanic and a blend which is a combination of the two.

happinesslifetime.com Laser removal makes use of a light that is absorbed through the skin and from there, into the follicle. This absorbed form of light then changes to a heat source and from there is able to affect the growth of the follicle.

This procedure does not take months to work because it is able to focus on hundreds of hairs at once as opposed to only one at a time. For this reason it is more effective for larger areas of skin than smaller ones.

One of the biggest downfalls of happinesslifetime.com laser removal is that it works best on those with coarse dark hair as opposed to those with lighter and finer hair. Those individuals who have dark hair have a pigment in their skin known as melanin.

Melanin is very effective at drawing in the light of the laser. Those with red hair or suntanned skin do not tend to have very much luck with this method either. However advancements are improving the way the laser works all of the time.

Laser Hair Removal Risks - What You Need to Consider

The idea of having a laser beam directly on your body can be scary, and it should be. Even though the process of laser hair removal is very effective and painless there are plenty of risks associated with it. You need to be aware of these risks so that you can make an informed decision about the process being right for you or not. Many people find they like it better than waxing or electrolysis due to the pain factor they carry. With laser hair removal you will only feel a tingling sensation.

You can have a laser hair removal session in under an hour, but it depends on the amount of hair you have. There is no recovery period that takes place so you can conveniently leave the clinic and go right back to your daily schedule. Lasers should not result in any damage to the skin.

However some people experience a type of allergic reaction to the procedure. Common symptoms of this include redness, itching, swelling, and even blisters forming. They generally go away within a couple of days though as they are the result of the skin becoming irritated. Pupura may result as well which is a change in color pigment of the skin. It may be permanent or temporary.

If the equipment used is not up to date or the technician performing the getlaserhairremoval.org/laser-hair-removal-system.html laser hair removal isn't skilled in it, permanent damage can occur. This can include scarring, scabbing, and the skin becoming discolored. You need to ask during your consultation about the qualifications of the person who will be performing the procedure as well as the equipment they will be using to do it.

It is also important to realize that laser hair removal only works well on light colored hair and skin. It can cause severe pigment damage to darker colors of skin. You don't want to pay for the procedure to find out it isn't going to work well removing red or dark colored hairs. Even if the laser hair removal is a success you may need more than on procedure to get the results you are after.

Laser Hair Removal - How it Works

Some people end up with hair growth in regions where they simply don't want it to grow. Some examples include a woman with growth on her face or a man who has excessive growth on his back. There are a multitude of methods to get rid of it but laser hair removal is one of the best. Other methods, including shaving, bleaching, plucking, and waxing, may be temporary, painful and/or ineffective. The laser offers optimum effectiveness and the result is long lasting.

Here's how the system works:

A topical anesthetic is applied to the region in order to keep the process from becoming too uncomfortable.

The laser beam, which is comprised of intense heat and light, is directed at the desired location. This beam passes through the patient's skin and damages the follicle. The follicle is the location of the origination of each hair and by damaging it, future growth is curtailed.

There will be a burning or stinging sensation as the zapping takes place. This is temporary and will subside shortly after the procedure.

It may take only fifteen minutes to complete the process if there is only a small area to be treated. Larger regions may take up to a couple of hours to finish.

There will be redness, swelling and pain at the site initially following treatment but this will subside within a few hours.

Skin type and hair color will affect the success rate of the happinesslifetime.com laser removal procedure.

Several separate treatments are usually necessary in order to have the optimum result. When it is completed, up to 80% of the growth will be gone.

The result of this method will be long lasting, especially compared to other techniques. The hairlessness may last from several months to many years.

As in any medical procedure, there are risks involved with this treatment. Patients with darker complexions tend to have the most problem with lightening or darkening of the skin in the area which was treated. Lightening is referred to as Hypopigmentation and darkening is referred to as Hyperpigmentation.

Another risk is blistering or scarring. A crusty change in skin texture is a rare occurrence, but does happen on occasion. What does grow back will often have a finer texture than the hair in surrounding regions.

If a patient is interested in happinesslifetime.com laser removal, they should consult a plastic surgeon or dermatologist who specializes in this technique. An initial consultation should provide answers to whether this would be an appropriate choice for their excessive growth regions.

Understanding Acne Laser Skin Treatments

Sophisticated options like acne laser skin treatment helps you eliminate not the just the acne itself but the scars that goes with it as well. Being well-informed of options that you have will help you improve your situation and prevent it from getting worse.

Before the treatment

Prior to getting any acne laser skin treatment similar to this, it is always best to ask your doctor if it suits you or if you have other options. You can also research on therapies and products that might help you treat your skin condition. Failure to do so might make you choose products that might not be good for you. Remember that your aim is to improve your situation and not worsen it.

You should also have a good understanding of skin treatment processes before trying them out. Know the number or sessions you for you to eliminate acne on your skin. The length of time with the treatments also varies from one patient to the other. Ask your dermatologist about this so you know what to expect and the extent of the treatment's effectiveness.

Types of acne laser skin treatment

Laser Skin Resurfacing - Using an Erbium and carbon dioxide: YAG laser, acne skin treatment peels off the layer of the skin one at a time concentrating on the acne scars. This process helps in making the pores of the skin smaller. Although it might take roughly 18 months to see the results, you should have acne free skin radiating with youthful glow. It is sure to promise you beautiful, clear and young looking skin.

Ablative or non-ablative laser treatment - Protein cells known as collagen are induced in a certain area of the skin using a laser light. This will then decrease the visibility of acne scars. This process stimulates the growth of new skin cells that will leave your skin smooth and more elastic. Acne laser skin treatment of this kind would need your skin to take its layers off by being exposed into short light bursts. With that being said, you do not have to worry about other areas of your skin affected with the laser radiation.

With all the available skin care products out in the market, you might have a difficulty choosing the best acne products suited for your skin. Get a product that will suit best with the type of skin that you have and the situation that you are in. As much as possible, get formulation that you only need as more may worsen the situation instead of improving it. With the fast-paced technological advances that we are facing, it is good to know that you have other options like acne laser skin treatment that can surely do wonders for you.

Laser Hair Removal at Home - Alone Sequel?

The desire to look like some fleetingly famous and beautiful actress on the screen is in the hearts of all women, whether they admit it or not. But some aspects hinder this otherwise great likeness -"don't I just look like Keira Knightley's twin sister?"- and those aspects concern out intimate, personal grooming. We are bashful when talking about bikini line hair removal, but the situation would be more shameful if we accidentally overlooked it and got on the beach right after a week's hard work and stress. That is why laser hair removal could be used at home.

Laser Hair Removal at Home Textbook

It's been heard of laser hair removal but not combined with "at home", because until recently, this equipment, and the specialists trained to maneuver it were available only in spas and salons. No sooner that the FDA had given their approval, than the curious started to use laser hair removal at home. You should find out what exactly the effects that follow the treatment can be, and how you can master the machine...

With the numberless methods of hair removal available on the market, at the local drugstore, at the supermarket two blocks away, it should be literally impossible not to find an alternative to the costly and complicated option of laser hair removal at home: you have to choose from razors, depilatory creams, hot wax, cold wax, sugar-based wax, Flashamps, and the expensive but safe trips to the salons and clinics where professionals do all the laser hair removal, not your unsure hand at home.

If your main concern is the rate you have to pay for the bestlaserhairremovaltreatment.com laser hair removal method at home, comparing to the professionally carried through job, the latter reaches the alarming but expected amount of $1000, while our laser hair removal at home kit keeps a low profile, with about $300, but it still costs more than the commonly used creams and blades that are fast and comfortable.

Since you have gotten your spirits up with the very reasonable price in exchange of which you can get a personal laser hair removal at home, another disadvantage might be that it takes a lot of time until you understand how to use it and a lot of patience and resolution to finish the job: the bought product will be comparably smaller and less efficient than the one used by the cosmetologists and technicians, and you need to "pluck" every individual hair.

The principle of laser tech is based on the simple discovery of the pigmented hair's location: this is good news for those with darker hues of hair and bad news for the blonds with grey hair. The latter category will have to avoid the laser hair removal at home because their skin will be rather terrorized and hurt. All caprices aside, even if it sounds fancy and costs a lot, it doesn't mean that laser hair removal at home is suitable, so the plain old razors and creams might be just the thing for you.

Anti-Aging Skin Care Treatments

Precaution

There comes a time during the mid years of life, when the signs of growing age start becoming apparent. The mirror reflects one's visage with wrinkles or fine lines and the thought of taking preventative measure -- happinesslifetime.com anti aging happinesslifetime.com skin care -- comes to the mind. Though resorting to these measures at an earlier age as a precautionary measure would have kept the skin in better health and delayed the aging process.

Even if one wakes up to the need of happinesslifetime.com anti aging happinesslifetime.com skin care only after noticing the first wrinkles, it is not too late. The signs should not be snubbed and remedial steps should be taken without further delay.

Good anti-aging products, though not super drugs, contain nutrients and vitamins. These have a super effect on the skin, singly as in Retinol, or in combination.

The best reason for the appearance of wrinkles and fine lines on the face is cracking of collagen molecules in skin. Anti-aging emulsion ingredients are, for the most part, not tiny enough to enter the skin, which limits their effectiveness. However, an innovative operation `Collegian Infusion Delivery System' is found to be capable of delivering entire collagen molecules into the skin and to keep the skin conditioned, glowing and removing wrinkles and fine lines.

Another process called 'Dermabrasion' has also been utilized for a long time for various skin conditions, even for removal of tattoos. Though this causes rawness, mild distress and some dense yellow fluid oozes from the skin, it is considered normal and expected outcome. The scabs left by the liquid can be removed without much struggle using wet cloths. The use of laser facilities in Dermabrasion enhances its accuracy and it is considered excellent by doctors.

To exfoliate the dead outer layers of skin and halt the aging effect, a process called Microdermabrasion, using fine mist of crystals and vacuum action, is carried out. Various types of happinesslifetime.com aging skin, irrespective of the color of skin, can be treated using this operation in a short time with no side effects. This can even be self-applied at one's own home using a home Microdermabraion kit.

In the modern life-style, with heightened exposure to dangerous toxins, happinesslifetime.com aging skin is inevitable. However, treatments like Dermabrasion, Microdermabrasion and Hydroderm provide necessary nutrients and vitamins and counter the aging process of the skin.

These are available over-the-counter except in the case of laser Dermabrasion which should be carried out by a degreed dermatologist. The key to happinesslifetime.com anti aging happinesslifetime.com skin care is to take these measures as soon as possible.

Understanding the Different Methods of Laser Skin Rejuvenation

As one ages, the texture of the facial skin changes in many unfavorable ways. Wrinkles develop, skin texture becomes more irregular, brown discolorations may appear, and in some areas the skin actually thins as well. Many skin rejuvenation methods exist but none have been more effective than that of laser skin resurfacing technology. Injuring the outer skin layers by laser light, burning it if you will, allows new collagen to form underneath and new epithelial growth on the outside.

Once healed after laser treatments, the skin's texture and appearance is improved. The recovery time and how much improvement of the skin is seen depends on how deep the skin injury was. Deeper treatments remove more epithelium and stimulate the collagen layers better....but recovery time is also linked to depth of treatment.

In days gone past, deep laser resurfacing was an operating room experience due to the depth of injury. While the skin results were often spectacular, so was the pain and recovery time. Patients no longer want that experience and the concept of less invasive skin treatments done as a series over time have become a better lifestyle choice. This has been coined Microlaser Peeling (MLP) and looks at a series of 4 to 6 treatments done months apart to get the final result....with recovery time of days rather than weeks. MLP burns off top layers of skin whose depth is controlled by the operator based on what the patient can tolerate with a topical anesthetic and how much recovery time the patient finds acceptable.

A newer approach to laser skin rejuvenation has been the modification known as fractional treatments or Fraxel. (the first company that introduced this technology) In this laser skin approach, the entire surface of skin is not burned off. Rather a portion or 'fraction' of the skin area is treated rather than 100% of it. This fraction is usually about 11% to 16% of the skin in the path of the laser beam. But the depth of each hole that is burned into the skin is deeper, reaching deeper skin areas with the theoretical potential of greater collagen production. (skin thickening effect) So less skin surface injured results in less of a burn injury and less recovery. Fractional laser treatments also require a series of treatments to get the full effect.

The question is...is MLP or Fractional laser treatment better? The question is a good one as the recovery from either one is a little different but so is the skin injury as well. In reality, despite marketing claims, no real scientific studies have been done to compare the two. Both produce results but whether one is really a significant improvement over the other (gets better skin rejuvenation) is more anectodal than proven fact. To those doctors who have taken on the great expense of the Fraxel, they no doubt are great believers.

Most importantly, either laser technology is an improvement over not being used. But the most important issue, in my opinion, is that any laser skin rejuvenation treatment(s) should be part of an overall skin care approach. Used with the laser could be intense pulsed light therapy as well as time-proven maintenance techniques such as microdermabrasion and chemical peels. Skin care and improvement is like your lawn...one cutting will only look good for a very short period of time. Rather than just signing up for a laser series, go to a place where they will sit down with you, make a diagnosis with computerized imaging, and lay out a long-term comprehensive skin treatment plan. Your skin didn't get to look this way overnight and it won't get better overnight either...unless you opt for a deep laser peel.

Eyelid Surgery - Why a Laser Eye Lift is Better Than Eye Cream

Modern eyelid surgery can rejuvenate the eyelids and remove tired eyes, bags under eyes, eye hoods, dark circles and eye wrinkles with much less down time and fewer complications than ever before. New laser eyelid surgery is faster with less bruising and no change in eyelid shape after surgery. Expecting an happinesslifetime.com eye cream to remove eye bags is like putting an aspirin on top of your head to cure a headache.

What is also new is that the laser is used for eyelid surgery and a visible incision on the lower eyelid is no longer required. The new technique is called transconjunctival blepharoplasty meaning the incision for the lower eyelid surgery is made on the inside of the eyelid-thus no visible scar and no change in eyelid shape.

What Can Modern Laser Transconjunctival Blepharoplasty Achieve?

o Remove Eye Hoods and Tired Eyes- As our eyes age loose skin develops on the upper eyelid and the tissue falls down over the eye lashes. This is called Dermatochalasis, but is commonly called eye hoods or tired eyes. New laser blepharoplasty uses the laser to remove the loose skin and reveals a bright, refreshed awake and youthful look to the eyes.

o Remove Bags under Eyes and Puffy Eyes
- Eye bags and puffy eyes are corrected through a tiny laser incision made on the inside of the eyelid through the pink tissue called the conjunctiva-thus the term transconjunctival blepharoplasty. The benefits of the transconjunctival approach to eyelid surgery are:

1. No visible incision on the eyelid

2. No change in eyelid shape-traditional blepharoplasty through an external incision weakens the lower eyelid. The eyelid turns down at the outside corner creating a sad eyed or hound dog look. The modern transconjunctival eyelid surgery does not damage eyelid support so the beautiful lower eyelid shape is not changed

o Remove Dark Circles under the Eyes-The new transconjunctival laser blepharoplasty can also be used to remove dark circles under the eyes. A structure called the arcus marginalis which holds or tethers the lower eyelid skin to the bone of the eye socket and creates the dark circle under the eye, is released. Protruding eyelid fat which is causing the bag or puff under the eye is removed and a small piece of the fat is placed back into the eye to plump the dark circle. This new eyelid surgery technique has revolutionized surgery to remove dark circles under the eyes.

o Remove Eyelid Wrinkles and Crow's Feet- New fractional laser resurfacing techniques can smooth eyelid wrinkles and crow's feet with much gentler lasers and a third of the down time of traditional laser resurfacing techniques. Botox(TM) is used to quiet the muscles that cause crow's feet and eyelid wrinkles after the laser has smoothed the skin.

What are the Benefits of Tissue Conservation Blepharoplasty Surgery?

o No Hollow eyes after eyelid surgery
-Older excisional blepharoplasty techniques removed skin and fat and often left the eyes looking hollow and turned down at the corners. The new transconjunctival tissue sparing approach to blepharoplasty has avoided this problem.

o No change in eyelid shape-Older blepharoplasty methods that removed skin shortened the eyelid and weakened eyelid support. The result was a sad eyed look.

o Plumping the depressed cheek-As we age our cheek near the lower eyelid sinks in because fat and skin sag down lower in the cheek. By repositioning eyelid fat into this depression instead of throwing the fat away, the lower eyelid and upper cheek are plumped and rejuvenated.

How Long Is Recovery?

The only recovery is the time it takes for swelling and bruising to go away usually a week to ten days although many patients do not have bruising when the laser is used. The laser seals blood vessels as surgery is done thus there is less bruising with the laser.

It is important to rest with your head elevated the first few days. This helps get rid of swelling. No heavy lifting or exercise the first week as these activities could result in post operative bleeding.

Most people are ready for eye makeup by day four, and many people are comfortable in public wearing sunglasses after a day or two.

Who Should I Consult for Eyelid Rejuvenation?

I recommend a board certified plastic surgeon that specializes in laser surgery and eyelid rejuvenation. The laser transconjunctival blepharoplasty with tissue preservation and fat grafting or repositioning is a fairly new procedure and not many plastic surgeons are familiar with this technique.

Even fewer plastic surgeons are using the laser technique.

You will have to do your homework. Search for laser transconjunctival blepharoplasty and fat grafting or fat repositioning.

Try to consult at least two surgeons and as to see photos of their results with the newer technique. Ask how many of these operations they have done and evaluate their response.

Modern transconjunctival and laser blepharoplasty techniques with tissue conservation are a vast improvement over techniques that were available just two to three years ago. Beautiful eyelid rejuvenation with quick recovery and normal eyelid shape post operatively is possible today. Bags under eyes, puffy eyes, eye hoods, eyelid wrinkles and crow's feet can be removed with a minimal down time and very little evidence that you have had surgery.

Do your homework and find a surgeon who is up to date on the latest techniques.

Laser Hair Comb - Regrow Your Hair Naturally Using Low Level Laser Therapy (LLLT)

There is an exciting new option in hair restoration that is painless and noninvasive - Laser Hair Therapy. Low level laser therapy (LLLT) is a non-chemical, non-invasive treatment that is being used around the U.S. for the treatment of hair loss.

Lasers have long been used in all types of medical specialties, including dermatology. Many have used specific lasers to resurface the skin by creating a wound on the top layer so that new, fresh skin emerges from underneath. But a new generation of lasers takes a very different-'wound-less'-approach. To understand how LLLT works, you have to alter the way you view lasers. LLLT isn't a light source that causes thermal, or heat, damage. With LLLT, there is no cutting or burning sensation. The technology doesn't even resemble the look of traditional lasers. Instead, LLLT is delivered by a device that contains panels of lasers that shine on the scalp.

The relationship between lasers and hair growth was first discovered almost 40 years ago. During the 1960's and 1970's, researchers used low level lasers to evaluate their potential bio-stimulating effects on living tissues. In a surprise finding, during experiments on patients with leg ulcers, doctors observed that the hair follicles which surrounded the area being treated by the low level laser grew new hair.

Laser light appears to stimulate microcirculation, decrease inflammation and improve both cellular metabolism and protein synthesis. Furthermore, European studies suggest that LLLT increases blood and lymph circulation at the hair roots and stimulates follicular cells, which may cause hair to grow thicker and stronger.

In January of 2007 a hand-held laser therapy device, called the HairMax LaserComb, was cleared by the FDA as a treatment for 'androgenetic alopecia' (male pattern hair loss). The way the laser comb works is quite simple. The visible red light from the comb's lasers travel several layers into the tissue without harming the skin and scalp. Because the laser light does not cut or burn the skin, the therapeutic light-energy is absorbed by the cells and the process of cell repair begins. One theory of how this noninvasive, non-chemical hair loss treatment works is that it stimulates the production of energy at the cellular level; therefore, improving cell function.

People who have used hand held LLLT devices have said their hair looks and feels thicker, fuller, healthier, and have noticed improved hair growth. Like other treatments some folks tend to respond better than others. In general, men and women who have "more hair" tend to receive better results. A study published in the International Journal of Cosmetic Surgery and Aesthetic Dermatology, (Vol. 5, Number 2, 2003 by John L. Satino and Michael Markou, D.O.), titled " Hair Regrowth and Low Level Laser Therapy" concluded "LLLT with the HairMax LaserComb is an effective treatment for stimulating hair growth and increasing the tensile strength of hair in both sexes in both the temporal and vertex regions." At the 2005 Annual meeting of the American Society for Laser Medicine and Surgery a preliminary report was presented on the positive effects of Phototherapy on the hair follicle, including hair growth. This preliminary study also provided some insight into the mechanism of action of phototherapy and its effect on the cells of the hair follicle.

Low Level Lasers have been approved in this country as a treatment for carpal tunnel syndrome, as a wound-healing aide, and as an adjunct to liposuction procedures. Laser therapy has been safely used for decades throughout Europe, the Far East and has no documented side effects.

Top Five Reasons Why Wrinkle Creams Outdo Laser Resurfacing Skin Treatments

Consumers who are seeking to revitalize their skin and restore its vitality now have an array of options that they can pursue. From painful injections to costly and intrusive laser resurfacing surgeries - all the way to topical wrinkle creams. However, when placed side by side, the newest trend in age defying skin treatments-laser resurfacing-just does not stack up to the best wrinkle creams, and here are the top five reasons as to why.

1 - They are Non-Intrusive

Wrinkle creams are not intrusive at all. They are simply dabbed onto the skin near the targeted areas and massaged in. They work by using clinically proven ingredients that safely penetrate the skin and work to minimize the appearances of fine lines and reduce wrinkle depth.

2 - No Painful Recovery Process

Unlike laser surgeries-which require a several week recovery process that can be ridden with side effects like sores, blisters and pustules-the best wrinkle creams involve no recovery. They work safely and effectively, without damaging the surface of the skin.

3 - Zero Side Effects and Associated Risks

The best wrinkle creams have no known adverse side effects. Unlike laser surgeries that have a myriad of side effects. In fact, recent FDA (Food and Drug Administration) reports have warned consumers of the many dangers associated with laser treatments, including some side effects that were fatal.

4 - More Cost Effective and Maintainable

Laser treatments most often require a series of costly visits and procedures in order to be effective. The treatments are very expensive and each visit requires healing medications and a slowed recovery process.

5 - They Do Not Require a Prescription or Doctor Visit

The best wrinkle creams are easily acquired over the counter and without need of a prescription from a doctor; similarly, they do not require a visit to the doctor either.

Cosmetic Advantages of Fractional Laser Skin Resurfacing

As it is, laser treatment is so targeted that it can ensure thread vein closure or level off skin hollowed out by acne without burning neighboring tissue or skin. That has been improved further by fractional laser skin resurfacing, a treatment that can zero in on even smaller areas within the target region, leaving healthy areas in between intact. Tissue in the target region is healthier on the whole and can aid cell regeneration in treated areas faster. With competitive pricing, the procedure is more aggressive and the healing process is more rapid.

Fractional laser skin resurfacing is an enhancement on learnings from the original methods of laser skin resurfacing and rejuvenation. Generally ablative, resurfacing refers to regenerating the surface layer of skin. Laser beams damage the epidermis to compel the natural development of new skin, smoothing areas that had been deepened by wrinkles, acne scars, and lesions like age spots and sun spots. Treatment is intensive and the outcome is undeniable but there is downtime involved in waiting for blotching, swelling and other side effects to subside.

Commonly non-ablative, laser skin rejuvenation goes straight into the layer of skin underneath, compelling the dermis to grow collagen but bypassing the epidermis. Outcomes are less noticeable but there is little downtime. Both laser and intense pulsed light (IPL) technology are used for skin rejuvenation as much as venous therapy, but have given the mistaken impression that resurfacing is not that effective - until fractional photothermolysis came along, with Fraxel being the first US FDA-approved fractional laser device.

Combining the advantages of both methods, fractional laser skin resurfacing utilizes thousands of pinpoints per square inch of laser energy to zoom in on just the problematic fraction of a larger area. Prices range from $400 to $2,500 per treatment using fractional laser devices like Fraxel SR by Reliant Technologies, Lux 1540 by Palomar Medical Technologies, Pixel 2940 by Alma Lasers, Affirm by Cynosure, Matrix RF, Active FX by Lumenis, Profractional by Sciton, DEKA Smartxide DOT. Post-treatment is as uncomplicated as staying away from any Retinoid or AHA cream and sun exposure. Each session takes 20 to 45 minutes.
