Laser Therapy for Healing

What is cold laser therapy and how can it be used to treat the brain in Quantum Brain Healing?

There are several ways that cold laser therapy helps the brain. The laser increases the neurotransmitters produced by the brain, reduces swelling, speeds the rate of circulation of the blood in the brain, reduces inflammation, and may change or balance certain hormones. Endorphins are increased by laser therapy and these endorphins help reduce cravings for several addictive substances. Addictions often have several neurotransmitters that are out of balance. These include serotonin and dopamine.

Can you describe how the laser is used in treatment?

The cold laser therapy uses a focused laser beam which is narrowed through an attachment onto the machine. This beam is narrowed to a the size of a very small pinpoint. The frequency of cold grade laser beam measures 780 to 950 nanometers for the invisible infrared laser used in laser equipment. There are other types of laser beams that may cut through skin and are used for surgical procedures. A stronger intensity laser beam travels deeper into the body.

What types of addictions can cold laser therapy treat?

Laser therapy can treat nicotine, drug, alcohol and food addictions. It is most successful for nicotine and alcohol addiction. It will help food addiction, but it not more successful than acupuncture with needles for this disease.

Are there any other things that will help the patient recover more quickly from an addiction?

Medical grade laser therapy can be combined with nutritional strategies and detoxification for even better results. Supplements like milk thistle can be taken from six weeks to six months for liver detoxification. Another liver tonic and detoxification herb is turkish rhubarb.

Far infrared sauna is another great way to detoxify. It should be done twice a week for thirty minutes during the first month of substance withdrawal. This will allow toxins which are stored in fat cells to be excreted in sweat through the skin. It is important to drink three cups of water during or immediately after the sauna. Take a take a shower immediately after exiting from the sauna to cleanse your skin of toxins. The chemicals in drugs and cigarettes will be removed from your body over time.

Is this type of treatment painful?

Laser therapy is needle free and penetrates the skin with a laser beam. The stronger cold medical grade laser beam can penetrate approximately one and one-half inches below the surface.

How many visits to the doctor does it take?

Plan on a minimum of four to twelve laser treatments to manage a serious addiction. The person living with drug or nicotine addiction for longer than a decade may require several more follow-up treatments. Longer term addiction issues can also benefit from meditation, yoga, prayer groups, exercise, support groups, and medication.

Are there any side effects?

There are seldom side effects for medical grade laser therapy, but not everyone is a candidate for this therapy.

Does it work on everyone?

This therapy will not work on everyone and addiction is an extremely difficult disease for many to treat. Additions are very easily triggered during times of extreme trauma, stress, secondary diseases, financial disasters, and deaths of family and friends. ?Dr R Stone, MD-India
