Who Gets Laser Hair Removal?

If you've got unwanted body hair, you can join the club. We all do. Yet, not all of us resort to laser hair removal treatment. In fact, even those that want to resort to it sometimes can't. So, who does get it? Well, a better question might be who doesn't get it. To explain that, though, you have to understand how the treatment works.

You see, laser hair removal works because the laser light is set to a certain frequency. That frequency is designed to tune in on dark coloration. In plain terms, that means that lasers are best at zapping dark hairs.

Although people of different skin types and hair colors can get laser hair removal, those with dark hair and light skin are likely to have the most success with it. Also, those with very dark skin and/or very light or white hair shouldn't have it done because the laser could burn their skin. Instead, they should try other options, like electrolysis.

The nice thing about laser hair removal is that it lasts for quite a while. So, you won't have to worry about waxing or shaving for a long time to come, if you have the procedure. However, it's not without potential side effects. So, make sure that you get it done at a facility that really knows what they're doing.

The best way to find a certified facility is to talk to your doctor or dermatologist for a recommendation. You can also ask friends and family where they've gone or research it on the Internet, though. In any case, before to do your homework before getting an appointment for laser treatment.
