Fat Burning Laser - When You Have Tried Everything to Lose the Fat and it Just Will Not Go

You look in the mirror and you tell yourself that you have made progress but there is still that un-slightly little "tummy tire" that just not seem to move, what can you do? Fat burning laser could provide you the answer you are looking for. It is not as invasive and carries less risk than traditional liposuction. It is termed laser liposuction or laser lipolysis (lip- referring to fat). While it may be the ideal solution for your problem, there are a few things to consider before you have it done.

The first thing to do before approaching a medical professional is to think carefully about what you expect from this procedure. Plastic surgery can have wonderful results, but we have also heard of horror stories as well, so be prepared realistically for the outcome.

There is no point in going through with the procedure if you do not make any lifestyle changes. If your eating habits and lack of exercise stays exactly the same, you will eventually regain your old shape and have wasted your time and money.

So, what is different with this laser to the regular liposuction? Traditional liposuction does what it says; it sucks out fat through an incision in the abdomen. Laser liposuction uses a small cannula, which is inserted directly into the fat pockets, and melts the fat with heat. Obviously, this will make it harder to treat large areas of fat.

There is a higher risk that the skin will have a lumpy appearance after traditional liposuction whereas with the laser lipolysis the skin is generally smoother. The laser treatment does not produce as much bleeding as the ordinary treatment as an added advantage.

The risk with laser lipo is that the heat of the laser can cause burning of the outer skin and carries a higher risk of infection as a result. Scarring can be another potential risk due to burns. Something else to be aware of is that the skin can become discolored because of the treatment (lighter or darker) which would usually go away and fade over time. If it does not fade, then further treatment may be required.

One way to minimize the incidence of these side effects is to engage an experienced reputable plastic surgeon. Ask around and see if anyone you know, or friends of friends, has had this treatment and find out how that went. Feel free to ask your surgeon for references and if they are not forthcoming, then find another surgeon.

Once you have consider all the facts and engaged a competent medical specialist, made sure that you have realistic expectations of yourself by applying compatible lifestyle changes, and of the procedure itself, you are most likely to get some pleasing results with the fat burning laser treatment. Bear in mind that any type of surgery carries some risk and make an informed decision. Ask your doctor as many questions as you need to.
