Laser Hair Removal - Some General Tips

Many people want to get rid of their body hair. For men, having to shave everyday can become a hassle and for those who have lots of hair on their chest, legs, arms and back would have preferred a smoother skin on these anatomic areas. As for women, having body hair is not too esthetic. This is why they will shave their legs, arms and armpit. While normal razor or electric razors can be used to get rid of the body hair, it's only for short term. The hair will grow back quite rapidly and the same process needs to be done again. This is where laser hair removal for long term hair removal comes.

Laser hair removal is the process of removing unwanted hair from the body notably on the face, back, chest, arms, legs with a laser device. The device emits a beam of light which destroys the hair follicle at the base. While some people have experienced permanent laser hair removal, others have experienced slower hair growth and as a result, long term hair reduction.

Dark-skinned and tanned individuals are not ideal candidates since their skin color is too close to their hair color and can cause problems. Light-skinned individuals are best suited for laser hair removal since their skin pigment has a color contrast with their hair color. This was the case with the use of the lasers like the Ruby and Alexandrite but with more advanced laser hair removal technologies like the YAG and Diode, things have changed. These laser hair removal devices are less dependent on the color of the skin. All these lasers are red or infrared. But still among the most popular and fastest laser hair removal device is the Alexandrite.

Laser hair removal is not cheap and can cost several hundred dollars. Some people who have undergone a laser hair removal treatment find it like a rubber band snap on the skin and others only like a pinch. If you experience discomfort and can't tolerate it, mild anesthetics can be administered.

How Lasers Remove Tattoos

Laser Tattoo Removal - involves the use of Light Amplification by Stimulated Emission of Radiation technology to gradually remove unwanted tattoos deep within the skin. Although, tattoo ink is intended to exist deep between the skin's epidermis and dermis layers, prior to lasers the only two tattoo removal methods worked entirely on the surface of the skin.

Before laser tattoo removal, the methods commonly used to remove tattoos were either to cut out tattooed skin, known as excision, or aggressively sand off the tattoo design with an abrasive instrument, known as dermabrasion. Then in the late 80's, laser technology was introduced as an alternative tattoo removal method. The significant difference lasers introduced to tattoo removal was the approach of bypassing the skin's surface to work at removing ink deep within the skin. When an intense beam of an exact, narrow wavelength of laser light is directed at the skin, it causes very precise tissue destruction to it's target (e.g. the target being a specific color of ink pigment), which does not affect the surrounding skin tissue. The specific wavelength of light energy lasers use is attracted to individual tattoo pigments embedded in the skin. Each color of tattoo ink absorbs the energy of a particular laser's wavelength. When the ink takes on the energy it expands to the point, which the large ink molecules burst into smaller pieces. These small ink particles are then tiny enough to be carried away and eliminated naturally as bodily waste. Darker ink colors are easier to remove with laser than pigments that are close in color to natural skin tones, as there is more contrast for lasers to effectively target with dark colors against skin.

More intricate tattoo designs, multiple colors, area of skin coverage, and location of tattoo ink skin are all factors that can make removing tattoos with lasers more difficult. Amateur tattoo artists are known not properly injecting ink deep enough, thus ink is closer to the skin's surface. Ink closer to the skin's surface makes amateur tattoos fade naturally from sun and environmental exposure, as well as easier tattoos to remove with lasers compared to deep professional ink work. It's no secret that laser tattoo removal treatments are the most expensive tattoo removal method ranging on average 3-12 treatments, with sessions between $200-$500 each. Regardless, of the price, length of treatment process, and even the level of pain and discomfort lasers are still the most popular wreckingbalm.com tattoo removal method today.

Laser Hair Removal Treatment - The Secret to Getting Rid of Unwanted Hair, Permanently!

Are laser hair removal treatments the answer for unwanted hair? Are you sick of shaving, plucking, waxing, tweezing and doing anything it takes to get rid of that unwanted hair?

Women spend years dealing with this issue. And for years women have felt they have nowhere to turn to permanently remove the unsightly hair that they deal with.

Removing body and facial hair with lasers is the cutting edge way to get rid of all of that unwanted hair whether you are a man or a woman. Not only is it painless, but it can be performed on a lunch hour and destroys the hair from the root. After the specific number of treatments that are recommended, many times, the hair never returns.

Laser hair removal treatments shock hair follicles with heat and damages or kills the hair at the root. But one treatment is never enough no matter where the hair is on your body or face. It normally takes several treatments on the same hair area for you to hopefully get permanent results.

The best part of using lasers for unwanted hair is how fast it can be done. Depending on the size of the area to be treated, a technician or doctor can perform a laser treatment in from 15 to 60 minutes. As previously stated, there isn't any pain. If you have very sensitive skin, there may be mild discomfort during your laser hair removal treatment. If you are one of these people, tell the technician before they begin the procedure and they may ice the area or apply a topical anesthetic. Most people barely even feel the laser. Also, there isn't ever any down time which is perfect for those that work at a job during the day.

Unlike waxing where you cannot shave areas to be waxed for awhile, you can shave or tweeze or pluck immediately before the laser treatment. Again, this type of treatment attacks the hair at the root instead of pulling the hair out like wax treatments do.

Make sure, before you commit to a specific clinic, that you do several free consultations with different ones. There are important questions to ask them as well such as:

o Price

o Guarantees

Do Men Need Laser Hair Removal?

For you who are still new to this "laser hair removal" thing, here are a short explanations I collected on the matter...

"..Laser hair removal works by sending a beam of laser light to a group of hair follicles with enough power to disable or destroy the root, but not enough power to harm the surrounding skin. This process is called selective photothermolysis. It is selective because it targets only the hair and not the skin."

Most of those men who go for this laser hair removal want to get rid of their unwanted hair on chest, back and legs.

Well I say one the most important hair to be removed is your underarms!

You probably ask why...and the answer is for hygienic reasons. Keeping your underarm hair is not a good habit -in case you haven't aware of it- and this goes for MEN too...

Actually, before this "laser hair removal" thing came up, many people always had their underarm and genital hair cleaned. And this turned out to be a healthy habit!

So, if you ask me do men really need laser hair removal, I say as long as they do it to remove those two kind of hair and experts say that it's not dangerous, it's OK... But, if they just want to remove unwanted hair in the chest, back, or legs... I say it's not necessary.

Why go through all the process for that "silly" reasons? After all, God give them those hair not for nothing, so don't disturb that gift!
